    Definitely. I used red red to tint back my platinum to go brunette. A year later, I lightened to go red, so I used neutral to fill the lightened hair. Excellent results each time

    I want to bleach and tone my roots to match the rest of my platinum hair. Do I use a filler between each round of bleach? Do I wait til before I tone? Should I do it a few days before I bleach, to protect my hair? So many questions. But great video! It helps to see that application

    • @TigrePup
      @TigrePup  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question!
      I would do the filler a few days before or after the lightening & toning process but I'm leaning moreso to using it after
      Lighten & tone as usual (without the filler) so you won't have to worry about it diluting the toner to the point where it becomes ineffective.
      Plus we wouldn't want to risk protein overload by applying the filler before & After which can strengthen the hair but also leave it more dry, brittle & susceptible to breakage.
      That's what I would do.
      Thanks for watching, commenting & good luck!

    Such a helpful video and clearly explained!! You can tell you are passionate 😍 Had no idea about conditioner being an alternative to filler.. will be great to compare conditioner vs fillers halves 🥳I'm assuming you'd normally do mid-lengths and ends first starting from bottom of head so easy to lie hair downwards as each section done and then roots last to avoid the warmth of skin creating high lift or hot roots (being lighter and brighter then ends)?

    • @TigrePup
      @TigrePup  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi & thanks for watching and commenting!
      And thanks for your kind words!
      I really appreciate that!
      That sounds like a great idea to color a manikin head with one side using a conditioner as filler and the other side using an actual filler!
      Thanks for that!
      Now on to you second question; because this application was deposit in this video I would apply the color from the roots to ends.
      If I were lifting the color I would apply mid-lengths & ends then do the roots to avoid hot roots.
      I hope that helps.
      Thanks, Tinks!

      Thanks!
      Hi, that's a good question.
      Not so sure about long hair but I did feature at least three black manikins on my channel.
      The 1st one can be found here on his and her hair goods website but she gotten much lighter than when I purchased her but her hair is very natural.
      Here's a link to that website:
      www.hisandher.com/gloria-head.html
      I also did a video featuring this mannequin (her name is Gloria on the website)
      The link is here:
      Demi permanent haircolor tutorial with protein filler
      th-cam.com/video/61lq6OkMenA/w-d-xo.html
      I also did a video with another manikin but I think her hair was supposed to have a relaxed hair texture.
      Her name was "Yolanda"
      Here's a link to that video here:
      Unboxing and review of "Yolanda" mannequin
      th-cam.com/video/TDfFpeYa9x4/w-d-xo.html
      And finally there's another manikin
      I did a video(review) on.
      Her name was "Shanice" and her hair was very straight and didn't resemble natural hair at all but she was still a great manikin.
      The link is here:
      "Shanice" mannequin head review & demo
      th-cam.com/video/LyUXNR1tOuU/w-d-xo.html
      So when you get a chance take a look at these manikin heads.
      I'm curious know what you think of them so please let me know.
      I hope that helped maybe pointing you in the direction of getting a black manikin that might suit your needs.

    • @TigrePup
      @TigrePup  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question. It's very hard to make a recommendation without an actual consultation.
      But for curiosities sake, what do u mean u dye it? Is this a permanent, demi permanent or semi permanent haircolor?
      Just a thought maybe you can get highlights & tone them into the lighter copper color u were looking for.
      You'll have plenty dimension & it's much easier than lightening all of ur hair provided u perform a strand & allergy test beforehand
      As for a filler, if the RED filler isn't available, I would recommend the NEUTRAL.
      Thanks for watching and commenting

      @@TigrePup thanks for your reply. I used Igora 7-57 with a 7-77 with 20 volume developer permanent color and it turned out a dark red. Darker than the color I had. I’m guessing my hair is very porus. So I used a color remover and im back to a medium cooper. I guess I might try the neutral filler because my hair tends to go to the red dark side. I just wants a lighter bright copper. It looks very dull right now.

    • @TigrePup
      @TigrePup  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You shouldn't because I'm assuming you're moving less than 2-3 levels but I would do a STRAND TEST just in case.
      Also is sure that you use a NEUTRAL haircolor in your formulation.
      This makes sure your resulting color doesn't come up green or something.
      I hope that helps.

    I have a problem. Okay I have many problems but this particular problem is that the neutral protein filler is for use on damp hair 20 minutes before applying dye but my dye (Ion Color Brilliance) says it’s for use on dry hair. It also says you can just add it into your dye mix and apply it all at once…but if I’m applying my dye mix to dry hair will the filler even work?? I’ve been researching this for 3 days now…what’s the worst that could happen using the the Ion dye on damp hair? Uneven color grab? Or will the protein filler prevent that? The color turns out lighter? Back in the day I would just do it and whatever happened happened but I’m getting more cautious with age lol

    • @TigrePup
      @TigrePup  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Great question!
      Yes the filler will work.
      I'm thinking that the haircolor manufacturer (Ion) didn't assume that the regular consumer would/will use a filler.
      So yes typically fillers r applied in this manner then topped with haircolor.
      I have 2 videos showing how I used a filler and they're applied in the same way:
      Demi color & protein filler tutorial
      th-cam.com/video/61lq6OkMenA/w-d-xo.html
      A haircolor filler comparison: should you use a filler or not?
      th-cam.com/video/Hoac9nE-LP0/w-d-xo.html
      Also you can search TH-cam for "How to apply haircolor filler" or something like that for further reference.
      Also I just grabbed a bottle of filler and yes you can mix the filler with your haircolor formula but notice it's only mixed after the haircolor was applied to the roots first in full strength & THEN the filler can be mixed with the remainder of the color to be applied to mid-lengths and ends.
      I'm thinking that's for a color refresh & not for a virgin application.
      So please be careful with that.
      Thanks for watching and commenting!
      And good luck!

    Question- I am going a ginger color would like it more on the neutral ginger color then a super orange color… I’m going from red and pink hair to this… should I use a brown protein filler (my hair will most likely be orangey blonde) or should I be safe and use the non- colored one?

    • @TigrePup
      @TigrePup  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, sorry it took me a minute to respond but I wanted to process my thoughts so I can give you my best possible answer.
      Plus it's really hard make a suggestion without a consultation and the terminology being used may be alittle bit confusing.
      Ok I wasn't sure what a ginger haircolor was so when I looked it up it says it's a tone that falls between "somewhere between a strawberry blonde and the classic red.
      A common nickname for all redheads, the tone true to the name has more orange in it than the subtler strawberry-blonde and less red as the middle tone classic red."
      Which SOUNDS like you will most likely end up being which is the orangey blonde you mentioned.
      I personally wouldn't use a filler in this case if you're going to use a semi-permanent-hair-color.
      I say this because you mention you'll use either a neutral or brown filler when you could just use a semi-permanent-hair-color in the shade (mixing a brown & the ginger) you want and skip two step process.
      Plus I've personally never used a filler for a semi-permanent-hair-color only for demi permanent haircolor.
      So that doesn't mean it's not possible.
      I hope this makes sense.
      Let me know what you will do and the results because I'm curious to see how it all turns out
      Thanks for commenting and watching.

      Hi and thanks for watching and commenting.
      I'm not exactly sure what you mean but I will attempt to answer your question
      This product fills in hair and evens porosity BEFORE coloring the hair so that the final resulting color will be even throughout.
      So I would suggest that you bleach your hair first then apply this product before toning or recoloring your hair.
      However if your intention is to use this product as a repairing treatment then I suppose you can use it to strengthen hair before bleaching.
      I hope that helps.
      Good luck!
