Vedanta Society of New York is affiliated with the Ramakrishna Order of India. In fact, this is the Order's first Center started by Swami Vivekananda, in 1894. It was a historic event, for the seed of the world-wide Ramakrishna Movement was sown here in New York over a century ago. Swami Sarvapriyananda is the present Resident Minister and Spiritual Leader of the Vedanta Society of New York.
Vivekananda said, “Did you think I was just giving lectures? I gave them spirituality!”

🙏🙏Swami Sarvapriyananda had predicted about 1 year ago at New York Vedanta Society that ' Vivekananda will grow taller and taller with time....' , today at the end of the day that is 12th January, (Birthday of Swamiji)sitting at Kolkata, West Bengal, India, I just realise how true his prediction had been .....people from all sections of society, of all age, irrespective of all diversities, have descended on the streets of Kolkata to celebrate and cherish and understand Swami Vivekananda---like our very own home-boy.

Who told you that Ashoka's name shine among thousand of monarchs. Come out of your delusional and western mindset. Ashoka is mentioned/remembered as "Chandal Ashoka" in Indian tradition. He converted to Buddhism 4 years before Kalinga war and killed millions in there. Then after the war, during his reign, he persecuted ajivikas and jains.
Don't just be an spiritual seeker, read some history as well, to keep yourself in reality.
