Can wait for sony selling ps6 without disc drive, controller, hdmi cable and power cord and put it into a plastic wrapper with no box for 1000 dollars.
It looks better but I would’ve just preferred a cheaper point of entry. The Slim just isn’t different enough from the regular PS5 in size or price. I guess Sony is just banking more on their premium products than in previous generations, where they typically had a budget option. I usually get PlayStation consoles later in their lives, and got the PS4 Slim for a song in like 2016. Got it and Uncharted 4, new, for like $230. Those days are definitely long gone lol.
Some one pointed out how developers are stressed out developing for multiple consoles now. With this generation being mostly cross gen till now they had like 3 playstations and 4 xboxes to develop the game for. Now ps5 pro adds another console to their list with its own set of upscaling PSSR and rtx effects. Add in pc port with 3 different upscaling and 2 different frame gen techniques , no wonder most releases are broken. A single console system would be easier for them to concentrate on.
Funny how multiple console are now a problem but when MS began this generation with 2 consoles, 1 that is significantly weaker than the other, this wasn't an issue. Also PC isn't a unified platform....if we were to go with a one platform approach it would have to be a console because the entire point of Personal Computers (PC) for gaming is the ability to pick your own level of hardware. 😂😂😂
@@corey_massey Microsoft began the gen with 2 consoles and it's obvious it's not going well for them. Where is black myth wukong ? It's not on Xbox because of series s. Series s is struggling and most games aren't good on series s. ( it will only get worse as we move further into the generation ). I never said anything about pc being unified. It's about consoles. Read it clearly.
This isn't a like for like situation. The Series S was released with even less RAM than the previous generation One X and on top of that the Series S GPU has about a third of the Series X's compute units. The difference in hardware between PS5 and the Pro is nowhere near close to that.
@@Aki_Lesbrinco the discussion is not about that. It's the extra work load for the developers. They now have to cater to the pro audience by implementing pssr, optimising ray tracing and giving several options specifically for the ps5 pro. This isn't like pasting fsr into it. Pssr specifically works on pro. Less work or more , it's still extra work for them.
@@dr.sivavignesh664 So make it make sense...you want a unified console platform but you still want developers to make games work across multiple configurations of PC hardware? What's the point of a unified console platform if devs are still making multiple versions of games between console and PC? If we are talking about unification of just consoles, then PS5 has already done that....all games in the PS ecosystem are made for the base PS5 and inherit features from higher tier PC's with the Pro model. Games are still great on PS5 and made better on the pro. And PC will still get the range of experiences based on whatever level of hardware the individual user has.
Very interesting point, but I wan to say the PS6 may not gain as much as PS5 does. We all know not all PS4 games get a Pro enhance, even not in some Sony first party titles (yes I'm talking Bloodborne). I think most 3rd party developers decide whether their games get Pro patch based on: 1. Does the pro models get enough market share 2. How many work need to be done to make a Pro patch Obviously PS5 Pro won't get as much market share as PS4 Pro does due the crazy price, and I think generally the PS5 Pro patches also need more work to do than PS4 Pro patches. For a lot PS4 games, simply change the frame rate lock from 30 to 60, and then test if there are any bugs after changing the frame rate lock is enough. And for PS5 Pro, since it's only 45% faster than PS5, only change the frame rate lock is not enough, developers also need to integrate PSSR and tweak some graphics settings as well. So overall, I do think much fewer PS5 titles will get a Pro patch compare to PS4 titles.
It wouldn’t just be a boon to back compat tho right? Seeing how devs take advantage of PSSR/better hardware while also still assessing their pain points and needs that the Pro isn’t meeting over the next couple years will continue to inform how they develop hardware for PS6 or any other devices they may have cooking
There is a difference in saying its overpriced vs looking at what benefits it can bring The 4090 is $1600 and stupidly priced but you still see people praising how path tracing is now possible when 6 years ago, we would've laughed at RT running in games
None of this will matter if they launch the PS6 in 2026 for more than $700. I really hope that Sony follows Nintendo's example with the Switch (which is heading into its eighth year without announcing a successor) and makes the PS5/PS5 Pro generation last longer than it usually does. It doesn't make sense to launch a PS6 so soon, especially considering that games are taking longer and longer to be ready (we barely have games made for the PS5/Xbox Series X hardware and we still see games coming out for the PS4/XONE due to of this ) and the parts are still considerably expensive, at least by releasing the PS6 later than usual you can launch a cheaper console and still have time to put together a good library of games for the console ready on the launch, which is exactly what I imagine what Nintendo is doing right now with the Switch 2.
Agree, I don't really like with mid gen console upgrade. And good point also on Switch. Nintendo really squeezed their console to their max until it last drop. That also happened with PS2 which is the best selling console in history, and I remember FF12 pushed PS2 to its maximum potential. Switch and PS2 should be role model of future console
Cant wait to see how far Ratchet & Clank will push the PS6. Hoping for everything to be destructible and have a physics engine similar to Asobi's impressive physics engine. Imagine each individual nut and bolt having RT lighting and being rendered with lifelike physics as it gets projected in mid air rotating or flipping a set number of times and each time it flips or rotates to reflect in another nut or bolt. Thats the next gen stuff I wanna see
Play Rift Apart again in RT mode, go into photo mode, and look at how you CAN actually see Ratchet and the world reflected in the bolts as they fly by! I took a screenshot of it back then because I was floored.
What’s the effect of PRO for XBOX, guess developer will first optimize game for PS5 then optimize and fine tune for PS5 PRO, and first after that they will do a quick fix to make it run on XBOX..?
Sony will likely stick to the model that lets you add a disc drive. Pretending that you cannot get a disc drive is a complaint that will never make sense.
@@aniak2359 I'm glad that more people are catching on to this. Sony is predictable. I could be wrong but I doubt that they would go the remaster route when demons souls was so well received.

Because every TH-camr and twitch streamer, TikToker/etc, with a very large back catalog of physical media, would FLOSS that PS6 and all that fully BC … and do that marketing for SONY … FOR FREE. I'm genuinely terrified about PS6 backwards compatibility seeing as the PS5pro doesn't come with a disc drive meaning it already isn't backwards compatible with PS5 out of the box. I fear people who bough the disc versions of games will be not be treated equally in the future. That PS6 will be digital only and therefore only be backwards compatible if you bought the digital versions of PS4 and PS5 games. As consumers we have a right to equal treatment. Features should not be denied based on the method of purpose. PS6 has to have a disc drive even if it is just for the sake of backwards compatibility. I mean even I understand discs aren't practical for 250gb games we'll no doubt get.
As game size increases there will be new methods of physical media transfer. But abolishing physical media for consoles would mean alienating your target audience. Consoles are the only platform where you can use used discs.
the pro is compatible with the same disc drive as the latest ps5's, you are simply inventing a scenario and being mad with your own imagination. the only 100% non-disc console on sony's lineup is the original ps5 digital
@@BrunoMael with PS5pro they're releasing a newer supposedly superior machine that is automatically backwards compatible if you bought your games digitally and isn't automatically backwards compatible if you bought them on disc. Pretty much. I'd say even the PS1 is a weird one too by today's standards, given how some of it's games were coded back then. If you try to emulate quite a few of PS1 titles at higher framerates the games simply run at double or triple speed, hahaha. That is mostly not an issue from PS2 fowards.
The existence of a $700 POS with no disc drive is anything but good for console gamers lol and Sony didnt need to make this $700 no disc drive POS to give slight frame and resolution boosts on future hardware because pc already does this for literally every single game, the only reason they havent figured it out is because they dont respect you and the money you've spent over the years on playstation games.

With PS5 Pro costing US$700, I don't see much space for hardware improvement there. PS6 will have to come with something new, inovation that don't cost so much. Heck, the normal PS5 consumes so much power already. In time, consoles will go back to where they were, sophisticated toys. While the PCs will be consolidated as the only state-of-the-art gaming machines.
PS5 Pro is such a good product that, after 30 years of PlayStation, Sony need's to explain to potential consumers why. It's not even the price, it's not the tech (than fullfills all the claimed PS5 features), there is something strange... people should buy it without any kind of additional info and most of them will do, don't think there's a way to convince new people or change decision of not buying another or any Sony's console.... no matter how good it is as a good.

@adrianbesos465 Whats biased about what they said? All they said was that the games that will get patched for PS5 Pro pave the way for them to be played at potentially higher frame rates and resolution when PS6 comes out. The proof for this is PS4 games that were pro enhanced played better on PS5. No where in this video did they try to sell the Pro. @adrianbesos465 My man 😂 PS6 is already confirmed by Sony due to the documents released by FTC when Microsoft was buying Activision. It's supposedly planned for 2028 probably November again. It's also confirmed it will be backwards compatible with PS4 and PS5 games due to the report that Sony skipped on deal with Intel for PS6 and stuck with AMD due to backwards compatibility. Between PS5 and PS6 generation is 8 years. That's more than enough for a console generation considering how fast tech is moving especially for PCs. And considering how PS4 is still being supported, I'd say PS5 will be supported way beyond the release of PS6. No one is forcing anyone to buy PS5 Pro. And if anyone wants a cheap console to play games, go ahead and get an Xbox Series S. They drop as low as $199 in Holiday season.

Neat idea buy no way would they do this. Too much work for too little payoff. We'd more likely see this come from the Chinese alibaba company scene
Can't wait for the ps5 remasters again on the ps6
Same
Can wait for sony selling ps6 without disc drive, controller, hdmi cable and power cord and put it into a plastic wrapper with no box for 1000 dollars.
@@dr.sivavignesh664
So make it make sense...you want a unified console platform but you still want developers to make games work across multiple configurations of PC hardware? What's the point of a unified console platform if devs are still making multiple versions of games between console and PC?
If we are talking about unification of just consoles, then PS5 has already done that....all games in the PS ecosystem are made for the base PS5 and inherit features from higher tier PC's with the Pro model. Games are still great on PS5 and made better on the pro. And PC will still get the range of experiences based on whatever level of hardware the individual user has.

Are we going to see Ultra-Wide support with the PS5 Pro?
They haven't talked about playstation VR on a PS5 Pro is there any difference with the graphics?
Seems like Sony are ignoring the PSVR like they did the Vita.
Very interesting point, but I wan to say the PS6 may not gain as much as PS5 does. We all know not all PS4 games get a Pro enhance, even not in some Sony first party titles (yes I'm talking Bloodborne). I think most 3rd party developers decide whether their games get Pro patch based on:
1. Does the pro models get enough market share
2. How many work need to be done to make a Pro patch
Obviously PS5 Pro won't get as much market share as PS4 Pro does due the crazy price, and I think generally the PS5 Pro patches also need more work to do than PS4 Pro patches.
Locked a Pro preorder 🙌🏻
It wouldn’t just be a boon to back compat tho right? Seeing how devs take advantage of PSSR/better hardware while also still assessing their pain points and needs that the Pro isn’t meeting over the next couple years will continue to inform how they develop hardware for PS6 or any other devices they may have cooking
Good point indeed.
It's interesting how you changed your mind suddenly about this console
There is a difference in saying its overpriced vs looking at what benefits it can bring
The 4090 is $1600 and stupidly priced but you still see people praising how path tracing is now possible when 6 years ago, we would've laughed at RT running in games

They better hope the PS6 is backwards compatible with PS4 and PS5 games.

Thats the next gen stuff I wanna see
That's if they don't abandon the IP like they've done with others (Jak, Twisted Metal, Sly, etc).
Play Rift Apart again in RT mode, go into photo mode, and look at how you CAN actually see Ratchet and the world reflected in the bolts as they fly by! I took a screenshot of it back then because I was floored.
I believe ps6 would have something like an AI processor that would give the NPCs more character and let players talk to them and get responses ..

…. Because every TH-camr and twitch streamer, TikToker/etc, with a very large back catalog of physical media, would FLOSS that PS6 and all that fully BC … and do that marketing for SONY … FOR FREE.
SONY could re-invent “CROWD-sourced-console-marketing” …..to get back on top of the console wars after Nintendo sells a bajillion Switch2’s, and possibly breaks PS2’s sales record with the Switch1, at some point in early 2026. SONY could really use such a huge virally notable feature for their ULTIMATE console.

What's stopping them from cutting off backwards compatibility for physical copies altogether in future? While the PCs will be consolidated as the only state-of-the-art gaming machines.
PS5 Pro is such a good product that, after 30 years of PlayStation, Sony need's to explain to potential consumers why.
