I've had a Pioneer X3X for many, many years. And even though it's the entry level model (SX-434) it has very good sound, good FM reception, and is plenty loud. So entry level doesn't deter me. For what they cost I'm not intrigued by Marantz or other high end units. At all. If/when I look to expand a collection what intrigues me most is this generation of Harman/Kardon, even a 330B would be just fine, and Sansui. I'm an electronics engineer and I appreciate good engineering and good design. HK appears to have that going for it.
Cool beans! Ive always loved mine, talk about "The Vintage Vibe!" /chuckle quality internals and externals. Personal tastes, the cabinet takes away from the general vibe or style that this receiver brings, without it, Slick and Sharp. You actually open it up and walk us through, very nice Enjoyed your vid and take. Kickin it in a cool corner, decently shot and cut, keep advancing your production *thumbsup* mate keep on it! *edited spelling
Appreciate your feedback. Funny, a couple folks have told me they really prefer this receiver without the case as well. I think I got hooked on cabinets with my Marantz receivers (lol).
Great video! I have the 930 and absolutely love it, I’ll probably keep it forever. Yours looks super clean and sharp. Mine isn’t dirty per se but how did you clean and get the shine from the plexiglass and knobs / silver? I’ve been meaning to try and make mine shine but don’t want to hurt it.
I disassembled the unit and use a light detergent with my wife's toothbrush (lol). The Plexi is cleaned from both sides with eye glass cleaner. Now, I have (occasionally) buffed out these sort of panels with wax or Plastix polish by McGuire's...
I was an audio salesman back when this series of HK was current, there were the hidden jem best purchase of the day. / thanks for the video
Your welcome! Yes, they are quite the little gem indeed.
I got a 430 for little money and this thing knocks me out.
These are so nice, they look great and they sound great, dual transformers too 👍🏻
They are!

I have to agree. I had a 330b Nocturne many years ago - they are great little receivers.
I have 430 paired with large advent loudspeakers its insanely good bass so low, sweet mid and perfect highs sound like 100watt than 25watt
I think I once had a 430 - I agree, very sweet sounding. They are IMO under the radar units.

hello, which sounds better HK 630 or aki aa940
Which vintage speakers would you use or have you tested in combination with the harman/kardon 630?
The HK is a pretty forgiving receiver. Personally, I think a pair of KLH5's would be a great match!
