    Jared Goff was the worst QB you’ve ever seen as a rookie, much worse than Caleb, and then McVay saved him. If his career can be saved, the Bears and Williams have no excuse. The Bears need the right coach. A progressive, forward-thinking offensive coach.

    • @thekingbarrelmaker7642
      @thekingbarrelmaker7642 14 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +5

      Even after Goff declined in his final two seasons as a Ram, Dan Campbell and Ben Johnson saved his career in Detroit. DETROIT. The one franchise that Chicago fans could seemingly always look down at until now. It goes to show that teams can get the best out out quarterbacks; they just have to surround their QBs with the right people.

    • @matthewbeaver5026
      @matthewbeaver5026 14 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +4

      Mcvay didn't save Goff.
      Being in Detroit with the right supporting cast has saved his career. It's not just about the talent. But also how the whole systems has to work together towards a common goal.

      @nancypine9952 14 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +2

      He had Jeff Fisher as a coach his first year, and the team had just moved to LA and was feeling unsettled. Those issues were part of Goff's problem that first year. McVay believed he could be rehabilitated.

  • @skully6447
    @skully6447 15 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +14

    Argument: QB play has been down recently because teams move too soon from QBs and unnecessarily change coaches nearly from year to year. If we always gave up on QBs their first year think of how many Hall of Famers we wouldn’t have. Peyton Manning? Brees? Goff is even proving this point right now. All the teams that want instant success will doom themselves to constant disappointment.

    NEVER under estimate the ability of the Bears, Jets, and Browns to ruin number one QB draft picks!! But also, Caleb bares responsibility by being over confident when he said he would become the GOAT! Keep your mouth shut until you EARN the right to boast! SAME with the sports talking heads who without Caleb playing a SINGLE game in the NFL, annoited him a "Generational Talent"!!
    When I heard all of that is NEW that he would not do well because he was too over confident and not humble going into his first season!

    When Jayden won the Heisman I saw several people who said he was a more complete QB than Caleb and some of the other top QBs at the time. And all the Caleb fans were laughing and saying there’s no way…..
    Anyone with eyes could see he had years in the backfield to make plays and that wouldn’t translate to the NFL it’s that simple. He still needs proper development and was thrown in the fire. He could be great, but he was so overhyped…

    For all the OL woes, Caleb Williams is holding onto the ball far too long at times, hunting for the big play, and apparently not seeing the check downs and short passes available to him:
    • *Caleb co-leads the NFL with Deshaun Watson in sacks taken (19) when the O-line actually records a pass blocking WIN on a play* 🤔
    • *Williams leads the League in sacks on dropbacks that last 4 or more seconds (27) in play duration* 🧐
    • *For context, CW has 35 total sacks this season, so far, actually only one more than CJ Stroud* 🤨
    The offensive line has been heavily decimated by injuries and has been understandably inconsistent as a result; Not to mention the unit is limited on the talent side as well, but No.18 has been abysmal on deep ball accuracy, on target throw rate, and refusing to let go of his Hero Ball / Off Script play preferences 👀
    Two things can be true -- The offense sucks but the rookie QB needs to be better... much, much better. 😅

    I'm sorry the only way to tell is to put Bagent in, if Bagent kill or look decent then the problem is Williams. I've watched all pre-season games and the regular season games and 60 to 70% of them sacks were on Williams. His accuracy has been terrible and tbh the throws he did complete almost looked like lucky throws. As for Bagent, he looked danm good in the pre-season and it's a reason why them vets want him to start, and the Bears would not trade him for a 4th round pick. My gut feeling is that, if Bagent gets out there its gone be a QB controversy in Chicago!!!!!

    Not sure why the media hyped the bears up as putting Caleb in the best rookie situation ever. If you look at their offseason, what leaps and bounds did they make to get extensively better? Sign and trade for a couple of backup/low level starting olinemen, trade for Keenan Allen, draft odunze, and sign Swift at rb. How is that somehow the recipe for success? Oline was only improved by depth not by level of talent. Keenan adds to the WR room but he isn’t his younger self. Odunze is great receiver but isn’t being used right. Swift probably better but by how much? Point is, the bears got marginally better for a rookie. Caleb is too afraid of the oline and it shows

    I think it could all come down to coaching and an O line. WAS has a two headed monster in their coaching room with Quinn and Kingsbury. Plus Daniels appears to be the most NFL ready QB in the draft. This WAS team looks vastly different than what it did last season.
    CHI on the other hand has a trash O-line and nothing good in the way of schemes and development of their QB. People cooked Fields for his play behind a trash line and wack coaching but he still looked slightly better than Williams has this season despite Williams having much better weapons to work with.
