    Thailand is located at the most envious position to play a pivotal role in both passenger and freight movements. In the case of rail, the rest of ASEAN members lying to the East, West and South of Thailand should consider connecting their railway system, not necessary HSR, so that tourists are offered a ASEAN-China railway pass, similar to the Euro-Pass, to travel leisurely across this region. With population getting more senior, this mode of transport is more enjoyable . What more with the current pandemic scenario, the more spacious coaches are certainly less crowded than in an airplane.

      High speed trains are not our answer. But we are confident in the EEC poem. The world will wake up to what we do. We will have a release within 10-15 years. We see the development of these 3 cities extending far beyond Bangkok. The high-speed rail project will be the last song in Bangkok in development. Then Thailand, the public and private sectors, will cooperate in accelerating the development of the EEC stabilizer. for Thai people to receive benefits and improve their quality of life Bangkok will be just an old city that is our starting point. We are bored with Thai high-speed trains. I only use my car, I like my privacy. Park missions anywhere The train ride is just a pass with what I'm staring at. I don't care about trains, it's boring. It delays the ECC stabilizer. If Thailand is open to foreigners to invest fully The city would have gone much further.

      @GyacoYu 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BehindAsia But your pronunciation of Fuxing was amazing and epic.
      If someone told you the correct pronunciation of Fuxing is Fushing, nope that's just Mandarin
      In Gan, Hakka and Cantonese, "Fu" is pronounced _Fuk_ and "xing" is pronounced _khing_ where "kh" is the German/Scots "ch" sound as in "Loch Ness" or "Orchid". So the entire word should be pronounced Fukkhing! en.wiktionary.org/wiki/%E5%BE%A9%E8%88%88#Pronunciation
      Actually in Cantonese the "kh" sound has somewhat become a genuine "h" sound, which doesn't matter in Chinese because "kh" and "h" are the same phoneme but "k" is definitely different. However, in Japanese "kh" is merged with "k" thus Fuxing is pronounced in Japanese _Kan’yō-on,_ _Go-on_ and _Kan'on_ as *Fukkō,* *Bukkō* and *Fukkyō* (Japanese cannot pronounce final -ng sound and resulted in simply lengthening of vowel: Tongkyong=Tōkyō, Kyongto=Kyōto, thus if you pronounce _Fukkyong_ Japanese should perfectly understand you, and of course 東欧を覆う鳳凰を追おう _Tong-ou o ou-u hong-ong o o-o-u_ becomes simply "Tōō o ōu hōō o oou").
      That said, you might want to make a half-Cantonese half-Japanese one, go ahead. I'd be happy if Thailand adopt the Japanese pronunciation and paint *TR300AF **_Fukkyō_** ฮกเฮง* on the train.
      復興 is not only the name of a family of train in mainland of China, but also the name of a class of trains of Taiwan Railway Administration - Fu-Hsing Semi Express. The Wade-Giles transcription "hs" indicates you can pronounce it as "H/KH" or "S" whatever you like.

    • @heesingsia4634
      @heesingsia4634 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The eastern route does pass Pattaya. Utapao is the airport serving Pattaya and rayong. Located in sattahip and less than an hour drive to Pattaya city centre.
      Currently the train from Bangkok hua lamphong station only has 1 old train servicing Pattaya and is a 4-5 hour ride (real timing due to trains in Thailand being always late)
      I'm just surprised they are building the southern route last because that's the route that is difficult to travel even on the roads.
      Been traveling to Thailand alot before the pandemic and have used their trains numerous times because I like to travel to their smaller towns and the trains are one of the nicest ways to do it. But try and avoid using them on routes more than 3 hours because that can easily turn into a 5 hour journey especially if it's the slow trains. The seats are made of wood and having no cushion will make you suffer greatly. Found out while doing hat yai to nakhon si thammarat.

      @lucca_lee 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@heesingsia4634 The only 2 high speed rail projects that undercontruction and will be completed in the near future are the one that connect with China and one that connects between 3 airports cause it likely to make money.
      The rest would be nahhh maybe its about the future. Being Thai I dont think it even necesary, the country not that big and due to average income of Thai people. This kind of thing not charlity it suppose to make money tourist alone wont cover to cost and it wont end well.
      Highspeed train isnt affordable yet. Train isnt popular means of long distrance transportation in Thailand to start with, only forign tourist use them, most Thai people who take the long distrance train are poor people which high percentage of them just even use the free service though the ticket is already extremely cheap only its time consume.
      The best way to travel to small town is either on own car or local bus definately not the train.
      The main reason why Thai train is slow because of over 90% of it just a single track that built since the country was absolute monarch ! after that the long distrance train development has stopped the government focused on building more roads instead. The old diesel train itself arent slow it can speed up over 100km/hr but in reality Thai train can do only 30-60km/hr in avr cause it either have to drive very slow in order to wait on part of track that is double so the other one can pass or just completely stop and wait at each every stations thats is the real time consume.
      This government 5-6 yrs ago after the coup for some reason they choose the double track rail project over the expensive highspeed to upgrade the old system and since it was junta era then no one can against it if there is a vote im sure people are their best enemy they will choose the highspeed that end up load huge amont of money luckily it didnt happen,
      most Thai people dont even notice that the construction of double track rail has been started cause it use annual government budget anyway now there are 2 out of 9 lines completed, this double tracks rail can shorten the time into similar to travel by fast car minus the traffic and still remain affordable for everyone more than that the tracks are good enough to put the locomotive that run upto 160km/hrs. for safty it can go down to 120 that still good value for money
      For the southern high speed train will likely to happen there if there is a big city to connect with and that will make the profit out of it, surely not Songkhla or Phuket, it should be KL and SG and since they stop their project so I dont think Thailand gonna build the highspeed to the south anytime soon
      Anyway the new standard guage double tracks rail that underconstruction heading the south of the country is also included infect it the whole system upgrade 3000km. From BKK to Chumphon is over 80% complete it could be opened some stations such as Hua Hin next year,

      @@lucca_lee looking forward to use the trains on the double tracks. For me I like using the trains to smaller towns as it is more picturesque. Being in a minivan limits the scenery that can be viewed as you can be in the middle seat and have someone drooling over your shoulder (yes it happened to me many times) the whole journey.
      I try to avoid the old trains on journeys more than 2.5 hours as I had the (mis)fortune of traveling around Christmas time on a 2 hour journey that turned into 3 hours. I think you know what I mean and I had to stand for the whole 3 hours with no seats being available throughout the whole journey

HSR is one of our Mega projects to develop our country. The main strategy to achieve high-income status is the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). It initially focused on the 3 Eastern provinces, namely Chachiengsao, Chonburi, and Rayong.

Thailand could pay a toll 100 million or more to Laos a year is what I see. I might be wrong. The toll in New Jersey in US makes 350 millions a year.
