I know you said you go through truckloads of flux. How much flux do you use on a typical repair or how long does a tube last? Looks like a lot under the scope.
why no underfill under the chip ?? Same chip in MacBook has underfill. This chip is very sensitive if you use not original Apple charger, when I have 5V 0A in Apple products, I immediately ask customer to send me a pictures of his charges.
That 12.9" 4th gen and 5th gen and especially 11" 2nd gen are known for that "USB-C controller" chip issue (in my company we call it usb-c controller, not sure if that is the real name of it)
Yes it's a USBC Controller and Common failing point on USBC iPads We get them in everyday. Just stay away from USBC and go for lighting if you want your iPad to last.
Emergency, I'm technician of GPAIR Electtronics from hamburg Germany. A2228 came to me with display short from colleague, but actually the device doesn't turn on, it's so specific case because the costumer needs the data and contacted with police against the colleague. I need help. How can I contact you?
Alex is a beast, knowledge and procedure always serves the job right
It's crazy how small the stuff is in this video actually is, I wouldn't have thought it was humanly possible to work on
the "big" yellow caps around are about the size of the rice grain
Amazing work. I was holding my breath while you were removing the chip so close to those miniscule components!
A Friday afternoon video, nice. Have a great weekend Alex, Big Boss, Pops and Dolly.
may be light sensor flex behind screen needed to connect to light up screen . just like newer iphones
