For those who think Krist is boring : Krist is just being himself ,everyone knows he can do crazy things I'm so tired of seeing some bands ,where members are trying to look funny and cool , even if that's not their personality ,that just looks so unnatural Krist is cool , Krist is natural , Krist ROCKS!

Man, can you imagine if your long time friend, with whom you'd seen and done so much, just one day decided he didn't want to live anymore, and then for the rest of your life people asked you to talk about those memories? That would sure make me not be all pepped up.

And with Kurt gone, Courtney was his junkie friend's source of sweet lady heroin, so he stonewalled Tom's investigation as instructed. Some "friend" that was!
As simple as this mans bass lines were, this man was the man who got me into the bass guitar. His humor at the time never got old to me. And his current political views today are, in my opinion, the best ideas that need to be presented to our government. His founding of JAMPAC, and his current chair in FairVote show that rock musicians aren't all psychos. For some, Dave is their faviorite member of Nirvana, for most others, it's Kurt, but for me, it's without a doubt Krist A. Novoselic.

He seems so sedated (not from drugs just in general) and laconic here. Not the same loud, talkative Krist of the 90s. Not a bad thing just interesting to see the change. Wish Kurt was here.
It's so hard to imagine Krist today being the same energetic bass destroying guy that he once was. Him being bald and with a big beard really gives him a more serious tone. I can't image what he'd look like today if Kurt was still around.
This is my interview from 2006 or 2007. I flew to Seattle to interview Krist and Charles Cross for this Nirvana episode of "Videos That Rocked The World" on fuse. Krist was a great interview. Very friendly and chill. I got scolded by the PR team for asking him about where he was when he heard Kurt had passed - supposedly he had never been asked on camera before - but that's the only way to get the story.

That 2nd member (the bassist; Tim and Matt, Kurdt and Krist) they always had eachother. Life has to have been so hard on him! Losing ur best friend n brother in such a terrible way! @Connerisawesome it was one long continuous existence with the band for him. playing shows etc for 8 years. he probably didn't memorize dates of when things were released.
What people never ever talk about is how fukkin dedicated both he and his wife Shelley have always been to political activism, civil rights, the plight of refugees from post cold war era ethnic groups and territories from the former Soviet Union (I cannot recall what his background is - Serbian? Part of the Balkans? Lithuania? I forget, dammit). However, these have always been of massive importance to Krist, and after Nirvana, he and Shelley had the means and the time to get involved at the level most people will do most anything to avoid but is always necessary to lay the foundation for any real change. I know he wasn't always super vocal about it, but there's enough mention of this in interviews, articles, etc. that make it clear this isn't some brief obsession but instead an intentional and meaningful part of who he is.
wapsy89, your right there a lot of his humor came though on live recordings / albums, not to mention the really memorable bass lines he played, a very very underrated bass player indeed.
