I had the Whistling Mountain Climber smoker locomotive and tender car as a kid. I distinctly recalled, as an adult, that it was an "O27" gauge and that that was different from "O" gauge. Nowadays, I have looked to see what O27 gauge trains were going for, but they seem to have disappeared. I've found no mention of the gauge anywhere that I researched.... until this video! Anybody know why they were discontinued, or if they are still made bu go under a different name?
I was only 11 years old in 1958, but I remember that catalogue. ...Roy
Can't beat that Lionel catalog artwork.
