You did an awesome job Jim. The attention to detail was to the “T”. From a piece of wood to a very useful jig that you will use probably on a daily basis. By the way your technique on spreading the glue is top notch!! LOL, thanks for sharing Jim. I do enjoy your photography of the birds and surrounding area...you live in a beautiful place.
Thanks so much Becky. I thought my glue spreader would be popular. I have a need for the jig on an upcoming project. Still doing all the spring yard work right now. The tulips are coming up and the wife has got plans for flower gardens. As a team we do a pretty fair job on the property and house.
That is a great little jig. My belt sander sits unused for most of the time because they are such one-trick ponies but seeing this has made me realise it can be more useful than I imagined. I’ll be making one of these for sure. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻
I need to build one too. I will borrow some of your ideas in the approach here. I dont have the exakt same sander, so I need to make some other fittings. Thanks again! :-)
@@christopherrussell-mea-6982 No, I've mounted it in that direction so the most air circulation is on the top side. I don't use it for hours on end either.
I suspect that's going to get a lot of use. Also, by releasing just one clamp, you have your power tool back for normal use. I don't know, that Chris Cute has a lot to answer for (he he). Nice one Jim ☺
I just took a look at my belt sander when I got home and mine will be almost as easy. I feel like I just gotta add one small support block for one end of the sander due to the oddball shape. Of course the FLAT side is the one you want access to...
Everyone likes that glue spreader, but I'm not letting it go...lol. I think one of my earlier shop tour videos has a bit on the fence and how I made it.

Super cool Jim! I've been wanting to do this. And RIP Chris.
Thanks, Chris will be missed by many.
I was looking for a jig tutorial for my sander and this is great. I will make this. Thanks for the upload 🙂
You're welcome. Thanks for watching.
Just what I needed. Thanks for sharing your video. Nice work!

Have fun, mine sander pretty much lives on the jig now. So handy.
That's a build I can use! I love this Cute jig! Thank you for sharing! Many blessings my friend!
Feel free to copy or just use it as inspiration. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Awesome idea
Thank you! Cheers!
Very nice jig! Well done and thanks for sharing!
Thanks. I've needed to build it for a while.

Awesome! Good luck with the build.
Thanks for this...I've looked at a few other builds and this is by far the simplest and best design that I can use!...oh n I've subscribed!
That's awesome. Thanks, and glad I could inspire someone with something.
That was great dude! I'm digging the shop and the shots outdoors.
Thanks Eloy. Trying new things to get the subs up.
ESCAGEDO WOODWORKING I agree! The shots of nature behind it is just incredible! Keep up the good work!
I enjoyed the avant- guard glue spreading.
Sometimes you just have to go for it...lol
I have the same sander. May give it a try.
I like it. I use the sander more in the jig than on it's own now.
Awesomeness
Nicely done Jim that’s going to be very handy.
I need it for a project I have to do.
Great video. I like that jib. Very cool.
Thanks. It took a bit of thought and came out the way I wanted it to.
Very useful jig.
Thanks Peter. I will get lots of use from it.
Very handy Jim :) Love the views of your surrounding nature as always :) ॐ
Our little corner of paradise.
Excellent. Can't wait to make my own. Question: how did you ensure that the sanding surface was square (that is, 90 degrees to the table top)?
I used a square. Turns out, most belt sanders have sides that are pretty much a right angle to the belt.
@@JimDockrellWatertone Agreed, yup. Any issues with the enclosure not allowing the motor to breathe? Thanks again...

Great Job Jim.
Thanks. I hope to get good use from it.
Thanks Jim ! exactly what I was looking for...
You're welcome. Have fun!
J'ai reproduit la même chose et ça fonctionne très bien , mais avec une aération en dessous !
Bien!
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
I like it my brother awesome idea good job to later :)
Thanks TJ.

Mine is a different design that I came up with. Chris inspired me to get my butt in gear and get started on building it.
Is there a Cut list? Or recommended dimensions.... Any way that I can replicate this correctly the first time?
No cut list....put the sander on it's side and build around it. Chris Cute had the original idea...see his channel.
Big like!👍👍👍👍👍✅💪Felicitări! Great video 👍👍👍😎
Thank you.
Are detailed drawings available?
No, I just built it to fit as I went along.
Cool jig
Thanks, it will be handy in the future.
Every time I think I've seen the best "belt sander to desktop belt sander" video I find a better one. Hopefully this is the last...
Thanks. It is pretty easy to put together. I wish I did it sooner.

@@bigzeromike Awesome. Have fun building it!
Awesome job Jim especially that handy glue applicator LOL! By the way do you have a video out on your table saw fence design?
Everyone likes that glue spreader, but I'm not letting it go...lol. I think one of my earlier shop tour videos has a bit on the fence and how I made it.
Jim Dockrell does that clamp hold it really tight?
yes, it's rock solid.
I like it. Thanks
Thank Chris Cute, I stole the idea from him...lol
Awesome! Thumbs Up!
Thanks sweetie.
Il manque le trou d'aération sous la machine !!!
I like that love it in fact.
Thanks Greg. I come up with a good one now and then....lol.
video useful, thank !
You're welcome. Glad I can be of use now and then.
Much appreciate the absence of narration and/or musical soundtrack.
Just show me how.
You did.
Thanks
Sometimes I forget to shut up. Thanks!
2:50 WTF
Best glue spreader ever!...lol. What some people do for entertainment value.
Please don’t put your finger in front or near jig saw blade…
It's all under control, not to worry..
