Got abler sander at a yard sale and used in laying on the floor but now u can build a stand for it and use it correctly!! Thank you very much for the innovative build and great videography!
awesome work, btw, just a tip- if you use a piece of rectangular steel the same width as the groove in your T slot you can drill and tap a hole in it, doesn't dig into the wood with the corners like a square nut does (or you can epoxy 3 nuts in a line and use the middle one), just keeps it smoother over time- awesome video, take care :D
I admire your skill, your planning and the finished platform. I am puzzled by how you, seemingly, glue THEN screw (with woodscrews, not drywall screws, which afford more thread area). Some of the steps I see as out-of-order, but you have crafted a very well-made and functional addition to your shop. Bravo.

Just curious as to why you rub down the ply with turps is it ? Doe's it make a difference to the adhering process when sticking neoprene/rubber to wood ?
This is a cool project and it was well done. I would still use a low cost belt/disc model. The sideways orientation makes it harder to use the full belt and I'm personally not too worried about my fingernails :)
You Tube is a wonderfully tool in it's owen for wood worker's the lad's do some AWSOME jigs for us .The belt sander well that will be done over the weekend thanks to you Tube and the wood workers .
Cool project. Now is someone could devise a way to make one of the oscillate. Or better yet devise an effective dust collection system other then the bag. I have a 4x36 Harbor Freight sander that I have been trying to figure out how I might tear it apart and create a sander like this. Charlie

Sound usually helps a lot in tutorials, or is badly needed, but this one easily gets away with it because it's so well done, and what a great design!

A very handy bit of kit and I like how easy it is to fit the sander, difficult to use attachments always end up being left aside.

I noticed your table saw sled had a bolt all along at the back with a big wing nut - does this position the stop incrementally? Any videos on this?
