I like the way you explained things and then demonstrated them. Easy to visualize and I'm looking forward to trying it your way. Audio was great because I could get a feel for what you were doing as it happened. The practice area you have setup looks awesome.
Thank you, It strange for me to talk to a camera so I wasn’t sure how this video was going to turn out. Glad you liked it and found it useful. Thanks for watching!
I have no idea why I haven't watched this one before. Very good video and description of what and how to do it. Thanks for starting on the crosstie, it just proves to start small and don't get an ego and try bigger stuff too soon. Which is exactly what I've done. I haven't ridden the obstacles in my backyard for a while so I will be practicing this in the near future. I'll start with a crosstie so I can slow everything down, when I attempt larger obstacles, things go so fast that I kind of double blip, but I fail to properly use the clutch. Yes, you need to do some more of these how to videos. Also thanks for commenting and giving me tips.
No problem, I’ve been working on some splats and thought about doing a beginners video but I’ll see how the weekend goes. I’ve mainly been working on moving the bike around in tight areas and balance drills. I’m going to try and film something this weekend but I’m not sure what yet. LOL
Your double blips are so good that they're all zaps! Very nicely executed: you're really getting that back tire to lift and hit high on the obstacle, even the small logs with very little input from your body. Superb timing. I've been riding trials for 4 years and can't zap for crap. You haven't ridden with anyone else yet? Find a local club, everyone is super cool and you'll learn so much. I subscribed and look forward to your future videos!
Thank you for the kind words, I’ve put a lot of time on the bike this year. You are correct, I haven’t rode with anyone. My closest event is over 3 hours away, but luckily I enjoy riding what I have and plan to attend some events next year. Thank you for subscribing.
Awesome video. Thanks so much for posting it. You make it look so easy. Your explanation was great. please keep the how to "Trial" videos coming. As a beginner, I really appreciate it.
cool tips....have something similar setup on my property, but practice for hare scrambles on my kx-250f...however those tips and techniques you show I WILL definately practice next spring....thanks....subscribed..Peace.
Great video. I am going to get a Gas Gas trials bike. I have enduro bikes, but want to learn how to ride them better. Thank you for the great instruction.
Very good video. I don't have a trials bike, but I'm trying to incorporate trials techniques to improve my trail riding on my 500exc. That may sound ridiculous considering I'm 66 years old. Somehow I've gotten fairly good at using the punch-thru method to get over logs up to about 20 inches high. But, I think I need a way over higher logs that doesn't launch me in the air. Especially when there are trees close on both sides and the trail is rutted. Do you have any suggestions?
Hello, you are getting into under cut logs at 20inches and a punch-thru is definitely going to kick the rear wheel up. I don’t ride enduro so take this with a grain of salt but you will need to focus on a zap to lift the rear wheel. I would suspect the plushness of the suspension is going to take some time to adjust to. I would start with setting my front on the top corner of some logs and letting the suspension compress then add a little hop. I came from bicycle trails with no suspension so when the front tire tapped the object you jumped, when I started on the moto trails bike my natural instinct was to jump as soon as the tire hit. I found that working on getting my front tire set up for stuffs it let me get used to the suspension travel. So pull up to an object, find that top 1/4-1/3 of the log, pop a wheelie setting the tire in that spot with the clutch in and brakes on, let the suspension sink in,bend your knees and let the momentum move your body forward. That’s the start of it, you can now balance but take note of the timing your bike and body have. When you have that feeling being at the bottom of the stroke is when you will jump up and forward focusing on getting your feet to land on top of the log. Next is to find a ledge or something that has a backside so not to worry about going over the bars and put all that into one motion. A nice slow approach, pop a wheelie, when you feel the front is going to hit its mark pull in the clutch, rev as the bike sinks in waiting for the compression to stop, jump up and forward with a pull/hip thrust, lift legs and bike as if you were jumping to the top of the log and when the rear wheel makes contact push into the pegs to hold pressure.
I forgot to add on the jump up is the clutch pop, this takes the most time to figure out, to late and the rear will pop up but has no drive forward, to early and it will go up but it drives into the object hard. Rolling the gas of with the clutch pop is critical as well. Hopefully this helps, good luck and thanks for watching
Thanks It could be, I have yet to ride with anybody else so it’s just kinda a mashup of what I feel like the bike is doing. Either way it works and hopefully it might help someone. Glad you liked the video.
are you popping clutch when you first blip the front wheel on the log or only throttle? I am not entirely sure what I should be doing first. clutch first or throttle. Great video exactly what I was looking for on my current skill level
In a perfect world you want to be slipping the clutch and adding throttle as the front tire is approaching the log then a little more slip with a good twist of throttle and a clutch pop at just the right moment.
Please keep doing your videos, i learn more from you than anyone else on youtube. For most of your manouvours are you in 1st or 2nd gear ? Kind regards Andy
Thank you for the kind words. First gear is used for 99% of what I’m doing. I’m just now working on splats and thats in second gear. Thank you for watching

Great Video I've been riding Moto for 50+ Years and now getting into Trials in Arizona. any help is good
Very good and informative. I wondered if some slow motion replays would show the technique in more detail
Hello, my video - fine tuning my front tire taps is slow motion and does show clutch and body position.
Thanks for watching
Like it and am interested in your training vids. You explain things well.
Thank you, hopefully the snow will melt in the next few weeks then I can back to learning how to ride.

@@2wheeltechnique436 Thank you!! Been doing trials for 2 weeks about and its insanely difficult for me ha ha
What gear you doing these In just starting out so hearing a lot of using 2nd is best start point?.
That would all be in first gear. I’ve heard a beta and Montessa have lower gearing so you might need second but for my GG 1st gear works well
Can you ride in reverse from a small hill?
Just a couple feet, I need to work on that more
I thought in the first exercise it would be more productive😄 to roll back. Sometimes it is handy on the trails also. Thanks for the nice video
Cool having a dog that can walk your sections & sniff out the lines.
Most of the time they are in the way LoL
