🏁♥Thank you so much and God bless you a million time for posting this great and precious concert video. First time for me seeing this video of "Fade to Black" on September 4, 2024. Thirty four years in the making. This was at the very beginning of the coheadlining tour with Guns N' Roses. July 17, 1992 John F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium, Washington D.C. Please God convince Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Body County, Motorhead, Faith No More, and Soundgarden... especially GNR though to release more of the pro shot concert video from this iconic summer of 1992 coheadlining tour. I miss this time period so bad. My friends and I had the tickets already for the Pasadena Rose Bowl show scheduled for some time in late August I think, and of course it was postponed to October 3, 1992 because of the Montreal pyro incident and riot.❣💯🏁🏁 Keep posting these videos, we love you for this whoever you are. Everybody be safe out there and all the best as the world now in 2024 is not a fun or safe place right now. I can personally confirm that Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley is not a nice place to live, work, and play.
Two things: 1. This is the monitor mix for the band. Not the mix that the audience heard. 2. Yes. James was struggling with his voice all throughout the Black album tour.
Wild that current Hetfield sings better than this life and current Kirk does a better job with the solo parts. I did like the sound of his 12 string though.
@@evertoncristian2132 he overplayed the start and then put everyone else out of time, he’s the most consistent player in terms of putting the rest of the band out of time.
@@freebobbyshmurda1326 Wtf... I don't agree with that. The rhythm of the drums is in sync with the bass since the beginning of the song. For me it's perfect.
Why does everybody have such a big fucking problem with Lars!? If it wasn’t for him Metallica wouldn’t be a thing! He’s the one who came up with the idea of a band, met James and they both made Metallica. SO SHUT UP ALL OF YOU!! I guess him just existing pisses everyone off!
It's called youth. Drugs or alcohol never helped James write music, I think. Those bands that use drugs to help, it's usually heroin for the guitarist and half the time they die. Alcohol usually doesn't help that much. Cocaine or amphetamines make writing music impossible.
I love the sound of the 12 strings on Fade.
0:40 5-string bass sounds so heavy
The guitar that was destroyed in the Montréal accident later on this tour. 8/8/92
I’m pretty sure it was the explorer double neck destroyed not this one, pretty sure the horizon is in a museum
@@cornholio1354 na cause he switched to the explorer one in 1993
@@jofusnufc841 oh it must be a replica then you can see photos of the esp in this video in a museum
It wasn't damaged that much but since that he dosen't use it anymore

I wish James would play that guitat more
5:33 that double bass 😍
Holy shit that damn snare sound!😮 magnificent
Lyric:
Life, it seems, will fade away
Drifting further every day
Getting lost within myself
Nothing matters, no one else
I have lost the will to live
Simply nothing more to give
There is nothing more for me
Need the end to set me free
Things are not what they used to be
Missing one inside of me
Deathly lost, this can't be real
Cannot stand this hell I feel
Emptiness is filling me
To the point of agony
Growing darkness taking dawn
I was me, but now he's gone
No one but me can save myself
But it's too late
Now I can't think
Think why I should even try
Yesterday seems as though it never existed
Death greets me warm
Now I will just say goodbye
Goodbye

5:36 nice lick from Kirk
Drums are pivotal & underrated
That's pretty bold given how sloppy Lars is
My fav Metallica song
Very nice guitar and song!
Next song:If Darkness had a son
James' tone is beautiful
Kirk looks so metal
Double paddle ❤
A masterpiece 🔥
Magnificent 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻...
Thanks for upload
Damn Lars’s snare is mic’d super loud
@@adrianj3198 the snare especially. It’s cracking!
2:30 Error 404: audience not found
Next Song: Welcome Home (Sanitarium).
I was me, but now he's gone ♫
I hope sir or mam that you can make more full concert from metallica, at 1990-1993, my wish is to see them in my USB
I will!!
Damn, I just realized that Jason's shirt says Elvis😅
Elvi’s
It wasn’t destroyed. It’s still in fine working order.

That pyro queue...months later...
James using floyd rose guitar!???
Guitat :P
As always, Kirk destroying most of the outro solo...
Love Kirk but he’s no Ritchie Blackmore when he improvises his solos.
Lars 🛐
Is this capital one or rfk?

Okay but wtf was that outro
In a positive sense or negative ?
@@Taxable_Trophy I’m not really sure
Well, they don't actually get to "fade to black" in a concert.
Is it the quality or why does he sound more like modern james in this one. It's like he was losing his voice here.

JOHN 3:16

good live suck solo

No way! This was peak Hetfield with grit/distortion in his voice. Current Hetfield vocals is neutered in comparison.
This version of Het is wayyyy better than current.
Not close.
Like Lars actually ruins the fucking song
its Lars, nothing new there

Metallica might need to get back on the drugs and alcohol cuz they made way better music
