Really interesting. I hadn't really considered this is what I was in terms of my music career. I do have a day job, but when I started taking my music career seriously I 'decided' I wanted to focus on the songwriter route and not the producer route, BUT what I've found is that I've had to be all kinds of things to make things work and different artists need different input. If I can provide that myself, that is way better. I think we can get scared to dabble in everything and not master anything, but as you say, it's really the only way to be getting anywhere in todays business. I think its good to focus and I've tried to limit to three key things - collaborating with singers / artists, ghost writing (write for hire) and more recently looking to add Creative Direction coaching. Saying that I ended up producing my last collaboration! Thanks again for an informative video.
So if you don't mind me asking - what do you see as your own skill gap that you look elsewhere to get help? Thanks, Hugh
