I just picked up a Nahvalur vac-fill original plus model, and already have a TWSBI vac 700R, currently inked, so I clicked right over to this video. I believe the ink clinging to the inside of the barrel is caused by the fact that the chamber remains in a vacuum state (even as it is written dry). This is all new-to-me, so I might be wrong. It was super useful to see you break this pen down to clean it--including removing the nib unit!
Excellent possibility! Since the second ink, Noodler’s Cactus Fruit, and the Pilot Custom 823 Vac Fill barrel behave the same way, that makes perfect sense! It also fits the reason why the Opus 88 eye drooper does not have ink clinging. I’m so glad my shared learning experiences can help others. I appreciate your advice and comments. Thanks for letting me know! Another viewer agreed and mentioned it’s due to the vacuum pressure. That makes sense since the Opus didn’t behave that way.
This was so helpful TYSM! This is my first time cleaning my pen. I was so intimidated and just kept the same ink. LOL! The ink colors you chose are perfect! I’m going from Monarca Cardona to Colorverse 2024 Blue Dragon Glistening Gold. Definitely going to watch your inking video after I finish cleaning mine. 😉❣️✨
I feel confident using glistening inks in mine with a broad nib. The Blue Dragon Glistening Gold sounds fabulous! I’ve also used Iroshizuku Yama Budo in this pen. Another gorgeous match for the colors in this rainbow pen. There are so many beautiful options. Have fun!
