- Welcome back to the 1JZ build series. In this episode we install a PMC adapter plate and clutch kit to match the 1JZ to a BMW ZF 5 speed transmission.

R154 but they are very expensive
Great video but why do you use the S5-31 gearbox? Sure its cheap but it is also the weakest Bmw gearbox. The strongest is the Diesel 6-speed GS6-53DZ (S6-53) gearbox but it weighs. . .a lot (121 pounds) 😁
Diesel gearboxes are hard to come by 😉

the "B" z Version of the same tranny is the gasoline 'version'.
so in the 330i e. g.
should be available in the US, I guess you are in the US, if you do not have diesel versions.

any reasons why people are using the 5 speed and not the 6 speed ZF53BZ?
I think it's really down to the cost of the trans. 5 speeds came in many different models so there is dime a dozen of them around.
@@LukePakula ok cause Im looking to put a 6 speed on my 1JZ but I dont see videos of people doing that so I thought it has a particular reason. BTW thank you for all your videos, you teach me how to swap my car :D

i had a complete car with the 6 speed manual trans...i regret it sellin it really cheap..now that i need it....😭
