I dont care what anyone says about Piper, he has a loving and gentle heart and that means much more than someone that has all knowledge and doesn't have their priority as love in their ministry.

Piper is hell bound..maybe hope to be saved by believing the true Gospel..That Jesus Christ died on the cross for every single human that ever lived or will live, was buried and rose again the 3rd day...nobody has any sin payment because he paid it all.Accept this for your reason to go to heaven alone.No repenting of sin ,sorry of sin,fruit of a believer...just believe you can go to heaven by believing.Anything added to this and its hell!

Just preordered this book. God is doing something huge in my life through the way Dr Piper explains things. Grew up my whole life in church and never once heard a sermon on Gods sovereignty or providence.

I remember the first time I saw this book of Pastor John and how thick it was, I got excited that I checked Westminster Seminary bookstore to see the price. To my surprise, it was out of stock and they were still filling in new supplies of the book. All that said, I honestly want to buy and read this. Knowing how John Piper preaches biblically and faithfully on the sovereignty of God makes his book on Providence more enlightening for those who would want a guide to go deeper into the Scriptures. As we seek Godʼs word on how He provides for the saints in the midst of a broken and uncertain world, may the doctrine of His providential grace become our bedrock so that we will always remain firm in the Lord and His goodness. To all who already have the book and are currently reading through it, may you all be comforted by the providence of God as you live your Christian faith! The Lord will always be gracious towards us and He will see us through till He comes again. I was in desperation when I read Hebrews 6:4-8 , Hebrews 10:6 That there would be no sacrifice left for our sins if we sin deliberately. Then I found his sermon regarding this passage and had assurance to go back to God because of grace. I would like to say thank you. I can't wait to get this book! My pastor, who is going to school at Bethlehem Seminary (for Greek and other things I think) said he gets a 20% discount for the bookstore or something. So he is going to buy it for me and I will pay him back. I also asked on the Accordance Bible Software forum if they would carry the book. I LOVE Accordance!!! It's not as good as Logos, but I can't afford Logos so it's a fantastic alternative for all things Bible, original languages, commentaries, church fathers and all that. Someone purchased something for me for the first 800 years of Church Fathers writings which was not cheap at $129. I had been eyeing that purchase for months and someone bought it for me. God is Good!

Looks like a great resource. For those who are dropping out because the 700 pages, i would recommend John Flavel’s ‘The mystery of providence’ puritan paperback. Just 221 pages, couple of dollars and a real classic on this topic.

Just preordered this book. God is doing something huge in my life through the way Dr Piper explains things. Grew up my whole life in church and never once heard a sermon on Gods sovereignty or providence.

I remember the first time I saw this book of Pastor John and how thick it was, I got excited that I checked Westminster Seminary bookstore to see the price. To my surprise, it was out of stock and they were still filling in new supplies of the book.
All that said, I honestly want to buy and read this. Knowing how John Piper preaches biblically and faithfully on the sovereignty of God makes his book on Providence more enlightening for those who would want a guide to go deeper into the Scriptures. As we seek Godʼs word on how He provides for the saints in the midst of a broken and uncertain world, may the doctrine of His providential grace become our bedrock so that we will always remain firm in the Lord and His goodness.
To all who already have the book and are currently reading through it, may you all be comforted by the providence of God as you live your Christian faith! The Lord will always be gracious towards us and He will see us through till He comes again.

I can't wait to get this book! My pastor, who is going to school at Bethlehem Seminary (for Greek and other things I think) said he gets a 20% discount for the bookstore or something. So he is going to buy it for me and I will pay him back. I also asked on the Accordance Bible Software forum if they would carry the book. I LOVE Accordance!!! It's not as good as Logos, but I can't afford Logos so it's a fantastic alternative for all things Bible, original languages, commentaries, church fathers and all that. Someone purchased something for me for the first 800 years of Church Fathers writings which was not cheap at $129. I had been eyeing that purchase for months and someone bought it for me. God is Good!
I got the book from the Desiring God website because I wanted the PDF download. I looked over the table of contents earlier in the day. But then just a little bit ago, I started reading the four invitations that Piper gives in the beginning. I literally started crying on page 15 because it was so beautiful.

Looks like a great resource. For those who are dropping out because the 700 pages, i would recommend John Flavel’s ‘The mystery of providence’ puritan paperback. Just 221 pages, couple of dollars and a real classic on this topic.
