Why I Bought a YZ450F For Trail Riding

  • What is going on everyone! Welcome back! I am so stoked to have been re-hit with the passion for making videos. So today I want to talk about my new YZ450F and if it will be a good trail bike. I have received a few messages asking why I didn't just get a WR or a KLR and why I went with a 450 instead of a 250. So here is my thought process:
Reason number 1 was pricing and availability
Reason number 2 was the POWERRRR
Reason number 3 was aftermarket support
Reason number 4 was Yamaha reliability
Thank you all for joining I really hope you stick around and follow the new adventures, I know most of you are coming from the 4 wheeling and overland scene but I still plan on making the same quality videos as before so even if you hate dirt bikes you’ll be able to see the beautiful landscape of Nevada.

Good bike , do not go for anything older than the 2010 but I recommend the 2014 or newer.
Also, if this will be your first bike don't get the 450.
It's too much for beginners and won't be near as fun.
Even people that have tons of experience don't ride 450 for trail and hard Enduro if they have the choice.
      Get a 250 or 350 fuel injected 4 stroke . Or a 200-300cc two stroke.

@@leonmolin6414 different geometry, not as well balanced, doesn't corner as good, slightly less power and it's not fuel injected which makes it a lot harder and longer to tune and you have to change jets if you change elevation unlike the fuel injected ones..
you can tune the 2013+ on the fly with a cheap programmer.(Can change and modify maps)
You can say having the carb isnt a negative but I'm a mechanic and I disagree.
With all that said , it's a good reliable bike and it depends what you plan on doing with it.

I'm mainly getting it because it's only around 1700 and I live in Massachusetts. my plan is if I can actually learn how to be a able to ride a big bike (I can ride a ton of different 250s just fine I'm just worried about the extra maybe 1inch on the seat bc I'm perfect on the 250s) I'ma keep it for a while, but either way I'ma list it as soon as I get it for around 2100 (bikes completely mint and everything's nice asf idk why it's so cheap) and looking for trades to see if I can get a nice 250

@@farhanbhanji3164 I don't think there would be room anywhere
for a battery big enough to handle a good fan, I think upgrading
the stator would be a great choice. You need a puller and a
spanner wrench or means of locking the motor though
to do that, a puller works great and they're about $12 US.
I don't like using spanner, I have a different bike, but I made
a tool to lock up the flywheel, got the stator/flywheel nut
off with ease, otherwise it can be very difficult. Impact
      wrenches are helpful too.

That’s what I believed to be true but I also know guys who stomp their stock 450s all day everyday and have no problems

lol, as long as you keep up with basic maintenance (oil/air filter/valves) you’ll never have to rebuild a 450 if it’s for trail duty. Racing is a different story.
