@@TheF4c3m4n Hey. Thanks for buying my game! Hope you enjoy it. I was thinking of having a contest and giving prizes to the top five scores at the end of the month. What do you think?
@@OtakuCulture0 The game is still available for $1 on Steam. I'd make it free, but Steam won't let me. Enough people have downloaded it to fill the leaderboard. Making it was a fun learning experience.
A little tip for anyone here in 2022: Adjust the spotlight so its just abit below the camera, or else the shadows from objects gonna dissapear if you point at them. This is the best flashlight tutorial out there which I use in all my projects :)
A good thing to note is that if you get a negative number of battery percentage when your battery runs out, and it's a miracle that I got this idea, it's because the number you have picked doesn't go into 100. For example, I had it set to quite a large number to drain each time so that I can demonstrate quickly and see if it works, and I picked 6, but if you think about it, you cannot countdown precisely to 0 from 100 by taking away 6 each time. At the end I was left with 4 and if it drained the battery again, which it would because the battery is still above 0, it would do 4-6 which equals -2.
Hello Matt, very good morning, first of all, thank you very much for your videos, even though I hardly know English, I have learned a lot throughout this year and I thank you because without you that would not be possible. Thank you very much bro and I hope to see you here more, greetings.
This is exactly what I was looking for, thanks. What would you recommend as the best method for having your flashlight glow? Attach a glow actor to a socket on the camera for when you turn it on?
Hey bro, i cant find anywhere on youtube tutorial for walk speed, want to reduce walking speed. if you have time to make one tutorial about that. Thx in advance
Hey man, to do this you can simply open your character blueprint, select "Character Movement" in the top left and then in the top right search for "Max Walk Speed" and change this to be what you want. 600 is default. Hope this helps :)
I recently found your channel and I have been loving the tutorials and have learned quite alot.Thank you for making these videos!I'm not sure if you take requests but I've added a day/night cycle to my project and it works great but I'm using emissive materials on the windows of the buildings to make it look like the lights are on inside but I would like to make these materials toggle on/off with the day/night cycle so it looks like the lights turn off when it's day time and on at night.I can't find any tutorials on how to do this.Maybe you could do a tutorial on this? That would be awesome.
No problem man, so glad you discovered my channel and that I can help you! And yeah I can add that to my list to do thank you, its quite a lengthy list lol, but I'll keep it mind. Thanks for the suggestion :)
Hey. Thanks for this. Very helpful. Would it be possible for a part 2? I can't find it anywhere, where it's a black light. You know, where you shine it on the wall, and some writing appears, or vampire FX where certain objects burn or change texture when hit by the light, permanently or temperrary (like the black light would or with a timer).
@@MattAspland I'm thinking 2 different things here. 1) would be text/image is revealed only when the light is shown on it, like a blacklight on hidden text. 2) would be like a heat lamp on invisible ink, where once the text is revealed , it is permanent, or fades slowly over time.
Well, what Steven Wynn said. I don't know if you already did a tutorial on the subject. But maybe you could do a game instance tutorial. Where the game instance keeps track of all your relevant variables like battery status, ammo, health, etcetera. So when you travel to another level, your stuff will come with you.

Lots of useful concepts in this one. The logic could apply to ammo pick up, health regeneration, or whatever. Nice job!
Yep, its all about applying your knowledge like that! Thank you!
Well done on the game too, all the best of luck with the launch! :)
Another like from me! This was pretty cool in it doesn't use the Tick. Gives me plenty of ideas.
Hey matt! Can you pls make a video on how to create Taser Gun ?

Isn't using the delay node the same as the thick node?
which consumes more resources?

How to show how much battery remains on player screen, like stamina when your running it will be appear indicator on the screen how to do that?
For some reason the gate will never open because my interact button is not working right
This really needs a meter display since the print strings only work in editor
2023 and still working. How would you add a meter to it?
how can i pick up the battery with a line trace setup?
If I wanna get the light intensity to fade as the battery drain, how do I do that? I tried converting the integer to float but that was a bad idea…
