Sweet Bobby knows how to knock a love song outta the park as a solo and with his partner, Bill Medley. Both heart throbs and brimming with talent. Bobby makes me fall in love anytime he sings a solo like this and My Prayer. His voice is perfection and melded with the warm masculine tone of Bill they are dynamite together as in classics like You'll never walk alone and Soul and Inspiration to name a few. RIP Bobby Hatfield you are truly missed.

@@turdlingjenner9361 Music consists of what we call "notes". Some of those notes are very difficult to sing. And some of those notes can be sung by very, very few people. Being able to sing notes as high as E♭6 and also go as low as B2 is rarefied air. So pointing that out to a "vocal student", as opposed to say, you, for example, would be considered normal. YOU are the narcissistic one, thinking everyone just la la las their way through a song.

The song was written for a 1955 movie called Unchained, about a guy in prison who couldn’t wait to get back to his girl. The movie didn’t do well, but this song did! The guy who wrote the lyrics refused to put any of that stuff (about jail) into the song so it became a general love song, sung by many before the Righteous Brothers did it .. but nobody else did it like this, altho many other singers covered the song later (including Elvis) and based their versions of it on this version by The Righteous Brothers ... . Bobby sang another version for the movie “Ghost “ and this revived interest in the 1965 studio version (this one) which was then re-released. The Righteous Brothers and this song made history by having two different versions of the same song in the Top20 of the charts at the same time, competing against each other!
