Morning Daisy Barrel Racing is not abuse, most horses love it, they see it as a game. If the sport is used in the wrong way then yes, it is abuse, but it is not used correctly, most Barrel Horses have magnificent health.
I don’t ride with a bit, Spurs, or whip. My horse gets so prance and exited to run on the gate she can’t even handle herself lol. They love it more than anything. They feel just as accomplished as we do walking out of that arena. It can be abusive if it’s not done properly or if there is a rider who is inexperienced but it’s not abusive.
This makes me love my sport even more
