There is nothing quite as increadible as watching a spirited horse dig into the dirt wanting to run, because they cannot stand still.. when the trumpet sounds. It's their pain and their passion, I don't come to watch skilled people sit on their horses and win medals for it, I come to see the fire and the hunger of a thousand pound animal doing what it loves, running till their hearts burst and they can't feel their legs, following the command of such a pathetic creature that couldn't be a champion without the horse to do the work. They are amazing animals and these videos aren't for the glory of the rider, but the respect of the horse on which they ride.
@Phenix Salerno I suppose I may be a bit tired of hearing riders take ALL the credit and I forget to admit that they do in fact work. I apologize for that, though you must admit that for a thousand pound animal to listen to something that they could very easily kill is nothing short of extraordinary. Our history was built on their backs and I see lots of people forget that. I commend you for doing so and remembering too, I'm sure you do work hard when riding and hope you continue to find joy in it.
There is a bond and partnership, both rider and horse give equal amount of effort! The horse needs guidance on the pattern, and the rider needs the speed and smoothness of the turns.
I barrel race but I’m in it for the fun because horse riding and even just spending time with my horses is the only thing that can actually make me happy

He told me I’ll have to move on I kneeled to the ground and I begged him until he said yes and here I am with memo already don’t a desert ride next class!I love you memo your the best horse ever he’s a Arabian
Why do people like barrel racers better then working cow horses? How else would you get your food? Also you've got to have a horse and a baby cow to get the full experience lol!
I thought that they were kicking them hard to but now that I do it I realize the barely touch the horses sides. I use little English spurs (whatever English riders call them lol) cuz she’s pretty sensitive but she needs a little encouragement but it’s not hurting her. Unless I’m the only one that barely touch’s them lol I’ll have to ask other barrel racers.
yetta soukup yeah, it’s abusive, it’s like spikes going into your side at high speeds. Like no one what’s that to happen to them. And horses can feel 3x more pain than humans, so if you think it would hurt you, it would hurt the horse 3x more.
