  • Amazon.com's HQ Private Lead Aquascaper. A Tank Tour by The Legendary Steven Waldron of Aquarium Zen
    This is an interview of a small public tank in the Ravenna Neighborhood of Seattle, which is probably the smallest tank Steve Waldron has been dealing with. As both he and Tom Barr among others were approached by Amazon.com to create over half a dozen giant public aquascapes and vivariums under the rare and endangered flora and fauna "living walls".
    He has created aquarium layouts, breed fish and even explored the Jungles of South and Central America , as well as the Pantanal and Amazon, fueling his love for all things clean and natural. Steve has slowly become a friend and mentor to me as well, and when hes not designing and curating million dollar installations at the Amazon Spheres or HQ, or in the houses of billionaires who require NDA contracts, he still finds time to care for a select few tanks, with this beauty being one of them.
    In it you will likely recognize many of the plants I have as well, but in far less abundance and in less pristine lighting under sleek ADA glass and CO2 and lily stem outflows and Twinstar - soft yet vivid lighting. We will look at his inspiration, style and the flora and fauna of this stunning "fish tank"
    adonis tetra, toucano tetra, orange eyed lemon tetra and many shrimp. Along with plants from red mini butterfly macrandra rotala ( rotola according to some hah ) ludwigia x lucustris, willow moss, anubias petite nana, super red ludwigia, hydrocotyle triparti, dwarf baby tears and or course more of the mini rotala macrandra red (or pink) butterfly.
    Please visit Steve and His work if you're in Seattle at the Amazing Aquascaping Store and Fish Store- Aquarium Zen or if you can- with an Amazon employee pass to see the incredible triangularly curved 1000 gallon tank.
    Oh and please pester Steve to sell more rare plants online! he's toyed with it, but isn't sure about the demand. So feep free to tell him you saw his interview here, and you wish he'd ship outside of Seattle. Visit him on Instagram, Facebook, or www.aquariumzen.net

    Great tank and video. I had the pleasure of visiting Aquarium Zen this summer when I was traveling through Seattle. Awesome store and Steve is a really nice guy. Always cool to meet good people pushing the hobby forward.

      I grew up in Salem, Oregon but I live in Shanghai, China now. The fish store/market is a unique experience in Asia.

      Thanks Bob, Im working on access to film his other tanks, but it's sooooo secure to get to the board rooms where his newest tanks are. However, my endlers and green dragons are in one of the scapes I hear hehe

    I used to love this tank but now it's just not doing it for me. The lighting and CO2 could be stepped up to great effect.

      @Fishtory  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I totally see what your saying. I was hoping he'd fill it in more, but I think he may have too many tanks he's juggling, and wanted to keep it simple...but yeah, I would love to get my hands in there and rearrange things

      it's pretty rad when you own an ADA retail store and can just add or alter anything from the stock on the shelves. He's been kind enough to let me bring in some scaping stones and play with displays, as well as sharing these rare cuttings

      Where I live there isn't any fish stores with aquascaped tanks. The stores are always empty tanks filled with fish and nothing else.

    Well,to be technical,he did use African plants in the Amazon fish ( Angels,tetra's and Geophagus) tank-lol. I know,I'm a hard grader.

    • @Fishtory
      @Fishtory  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      well the fish are african, asian and south american

    • @StanTheObserver-lo8rx
      @StanTheObserver-lo8rx 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No,not in the South American tank with P.leopoldi. You really need to be more observant.

    • @Fishtory
      @Fishtory  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@StanTheObserver-lo8rx what in the world are you talking about? there are no angels or geos in this tank? its got nigerian red kribs, orange eye tetra, toucano tetras, adonis tetra, malawa shrimp, and thats it

    • @StanTheObserver-lo8rx
      @StanTheObserver-lo8rx 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I SAID THE AMAZON TANK..at the Amazon HQ. Ok,I guess I should have added even more detail.

    • @Fishtory
      @Fishtory  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@StanTheObserver-lo8rx oh yeah it's not actually supposed to be an accurate biosphere (or at least he wasnt told that, he just liked having fish together in a large tank since they work together in the wild.)
      Also those tanks are at the spheres, but at Bezos private boardroom and office hq there are a group of large tanks (with my plecos in them as well heh)
