Hello I just found your page on TH-cam and I subscribed. I have a trailer that I bought and had plumbed for me last summer I've been in business since 2018 I had a trailer that I batched mixed prior and I used to pull my machines off it was a real pain in the butt . here I see you can build on your own. Amazon has all the parts you need. Watching your video is great and you show me how to do it thank you watching I can see it's a lot cheaper to build your own that way and plus I'd like to learn how to do it myself rather than buying one. I also just bought a 40 gallon tank extra for an ATV which I'm going to use as my mixing tank the water will go into that one rather than the other 30 gallon tank that he already had hooked up right now my trailer is down because I am replying my soft wash and my second pressure cleaner that I have. It's just been sitting there and I don't even use it and I'm worried that it might seize up I put detergents in it and started up once in awhile so I should be okay. 12-volt pump finally went I decided to go with a fat boy remco 7 gal per minute 100 PSI. I know that sucker will definitely pull from anything. I really want to do away with the system that this guy built for me. I don't like it I want to do the proportioner that everybody has and do it that way cuz I can measure how much I'm putting in and understand it because all I have is just regular knobs I'm going to show you a photo of what I got set up and how I'm working on it now like right now I'm down I'm dead in the water I can't even take a job on right now till I get this done it's taking me forever it's so hot outside and I'm pissing me off luckily I'm slow right now. I want to know what to order on Amazon to make your exact proportional valve cuz that's exactly like the one they sell at the store up the street they want almost $200 for. Thank you for your video and if you could get back with me I'd appreciate it with those parts that you're ordering before I ordered the wrong parts. I'm already got stuff in my car but I have a feeling it's going to be the wrong stuff. And then I have to return it and take longer to do this . If you know the parts that I need a names or numbers or whatever from Amazon please let me know thank you very much and get back with me as soon as you can and here's a picture 2:59 it won't let me take a picture they're just regular valves PVC nothing with annoying what mixture I'm putting in.
I'm not sure if any of those videos went through it's not letting me actually upload a whole video I don't know why but sorry about that I hope you understand

Question, could you break down what the knobs need to be at for the SH, and water valves to get the correct mix? What would I need to set at for 1-2% and what would I need to set for 4-6%?
We bought the exact Pentair Valves. The ones we purchased do not allow 100% flow when on setting 5. We tested them against a regular 1/2 ball valve. The valves restrict the flow. I believe it is a design flaw. When you don't get 100% flow on water the 12 volt pump will sputter and your working pressure is greatly diminished. Did you test your valves before you built your proportioner ?
I actually just last week spoke with the a rep for Pentair and told him what my test found. nice video. Are the control valves the same as Pentair Automatic Feeders fit for Model 300-29X Model 320 Model 322?? Will be grateful to have the answer
Couldn’t you just use a regular inexpensive ball valve PVC on your water as well as your surfactant? And of course on the SH is a good valve. What’s your thoughts?
I don't think a ball valve will get you the rate ratios. When you are turning those on and off it's really hard to say if you are at the half point or not. I will say we tried using a ball valve on our water only one time and the mixer was pulling more water than SH due to less restriction.
@@thebrothersbarn6094 I understand. I know the SH destroys pretty much everything. What do you think of the less expensive valves? I would use them for the surfactant and the water and the more expensive valve on the SH. What’s your thoughts? Thanks
You would think you shouldn't. We have tried without one and if you don't use one than your % will be way off. This is because there would be No restriction for the water, but a restriction for your soap and SH.
Here is a link to them on Amazon. www.amazon.com/Pentair-R172086-Replacement-Automatic-Chlorine/dp/B0039LN1WQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=1LU6W8D4XRZCM&keywords=pool+chlorine+valve&qid=1680019345&sprefix=pool+choline+valve%2Caps%2C113&sr=8-3
@thebrothersbarn6094 were you able to find a chart for these valves? I would imagine the numbers are "parts" as in 1 part water to 1/2 part SH to 1/4 part soap. Would this be accurate?
If you get them mounted good and clean them out at end of day they last good time. I did end up building a new one after a year because one of the valves got a crack in it.
I quit using those metering valve. I'm about to build me one with the 1/2" Metering PVC Ball Valve from US Plastics. Everything 3/4 except the metering valve.
We had a meter valve go bad on us and didn't have an extra. So we tired the ball value and it didn't pull everything right. Could be wrong but don't think ball valve will keep the ratio right.
Good assembly video. But a lot of the links to parts you shared from Amazon are completely over priced! It would be cheaper to buy one preassembled to order a preassembled one from Patriot Proportioners.
@@thebrothersbarn6094 thank you so muchs buddy , I was kind of worried because I have a 7gpm pump but someone tell me that the 1/2 proportioner will not work with that pump
Thanks so much for this. I am going to buy all of this and add it to the new rig I am building for 2024.

Question, do the hose lengths have to be the same length? Not sure if that matters but read somewhere it does
It is best to keep them all the same length. That way it's pulling all the same.
@@thebrothersbarn6094 thanks! Great video too helped alot
How often do you have to replace the check valves with the chemical usage?
So far we have only replaced one. The key is to clean out at end of day at least or after each job.
Nice !
Thanks!
Proportioner chart that works for this?
Yes there is one. I will get it out for you. Should have posted today or tomorrow.
@thebrothersbarn6094 were you able to find a chart for these valves? I would imagine the numbers are "parts" as in 1 part water to 1/2 part SH to 1/4 part soap. Would this be accurate?
What pump and hose can you use for this ?
We use a 12v pump with 1/2 hose.
How long has this lasted you?
If you get them mounted good and clean them out at end of day they last good time. I did end up building a new one after a year because one of the valves got a crack in it.
I quit using those metering valve. I'm about to build me one with the 1/2" Metering PVC Ball Valve from US Plastics. Everything 3/4 except the metering valve.
We had a meter valve go bad on us and didn't have an extra. So we tired the ball value and it didn't pull everything right. Could be wrong but don't think ball valve will keep the ratio right.
@thebrothersbarn6094 they are metering ball valve. I had 2 like yours, one built by pro's and one built by me and both ended up leaking.
Why no Teflon tape to help seal
We used the gray plumpers tape and works great for us. Thanks for watching!
Good assembly video. But a lot of the links to parts you shared from Amazon are completely over priced! It would be cheaper to buy one preassembled to order a preassembled one from Patriot Proportioners.
At the time of the video it was a lot cheaper to make than to buy one. As everything else prices probably did go up alot. Thanks for watching!
I don’t see the link
It's under the description of the video. I believe like 5 links.
Cool thanks i see it now
@@derekwade9210 this setup cost roughly 300 bucks to build .....the plastic proportioner valves are 60 bucks each lol

Will this Proportioner work with a 7gpm pump
Yes it will work. We started with the 5gpm and moved up to the 7gpm. We like the 7gpm over the 5gpm also.
@@thebrothersbarn6094 thank you so muchs buddy , I was kind of worried because I have a 7gpm pump but someone tell me that the 1/2 proportioner will not work with that pump
