Sometimes its easy to forget how good Levy is because he downplays his abilities a lot, but instructional ideas like the Ne7 reroute with a strong grip on the center are ideas I would not be able to see as a 2000
Also because most of the time he's either analysing 3 digits games or super high level gm chess so it's him adressing obvious flaws (to intermediate players and beyond) or him not being able to follow the level of super gm's (which is totally normal) so we don't get to often see him shine. Also the recent tournaments did not go that well so yeah
@@joeb4142 in terms of pure entertainment AND educational videos in the chess community, no one comes close to Levy We should really appreciate him more
Watching these recaps just make me so proud for some reason, his improvement can really be seen as you compared this tournament to the last few tournament recaps! Props to Levy for trusting his own ideas and play these creative and aggressive moves.
Congrats on the win! Now think about what you said at the onset of the video. "My opponent for this round was crushing the GM". The only thing preventing you from crushing the GM is yourself. Kill that thought. GL for the next round Levy.

It's almost hilarious that whenever you are confident and play a move it's losing but when you are not confident you look over the best stockfish moves. Nice win levy
Levy:Me and stockfish have an abusive relationship Levy literally a day later: Stockfish absolutely loves and adores me. Fans:Tf do you want us to understand by that.
Entertaining game. Your frustration at his failure to roll over and die near the end was hilarious. Certainly relatable for a lot of us no matter the rating.

The second game where looking into the Chigorin defence would come in very handy! Not quite stock fish, but damn close. A wonderful game,, which you will look back on, with fond memories . Well done!
Good to see Levy doing well in the tournament, even though there's no GM norms up for grabs building your confidence is super important. Super psyched!
dude, stockfish is over 3000 elo, dont worry about not playing every single move like it, you would have to be 3000 elo for that. This was a great win, we are all proud of you :)

min15:12 bishop g4 was right but than u have to play queen f4 and if he doesn't reply with pawn to g3 or g4 than comes bishop g3 and instant win. But even he does push his pawn to g3 or g4 u trade with pawn takes g3 and he is completely lost..........because his g pawn hangs......................
There's a narrative building in all these last few recaps. Levy says Stockfish is an idiot but deep down he knows Stockfish is a part of him and it's not the Stockfish he finds stupid but himself.
Recap 3 > Levy: Stockfish thinks, I'm an idiot! But i think Stockfish is an idiot, so we have a very abusive relationship! Recap 5 > Levy: I AM STOCKFISH! 😂😂😂
12:30 - I feel like this happens so much with Queen 's pawn openings. All White has to do is play safe and their position will be equal for 25 moves, despite having no development and barely any threat beyond the queen. I'd love to see some answers to queen's pawn openings that don't allow such a passive playstyle.
against the queen's gambit, try the semislav. basically you threaten to take on c4 and keep the pawn, so either white has to gambit it or protect it with e3 and you get an active position after kicking the bishop with b5, put your bishop on b7, looking for a pawn break on c5, etc.
min13:15 after pawn to b4 knight to f4 is a very interesting idea!! ... if he doesn't take than knight to d3 is a winning monster knight... but if he takes with the g pawn than queen takes bishop with attack on rook and winning... bishop to h3 open d file for black rooks. But even if he takes knight with the e pawn than a discovery on the queen with pawn to e3 destroys white after a couple of moves..... knight to f4 could also prepared with rook to d1........

"smashing a roach" chess, but you nicely shored up the king-side and rolled in the tanks, nice temperament and great narrative. (no reference to current events - that's pure evil)
7:22 h5 decision in the opening took 10 to 15 minutes off your clock... And you had at least two equally good options with less to calculate. I wonder if classical chess is like Moriarty vs. Sherlock. He saw that you will probably not play any obvious move because you pause on your decision (unless you dismiss your train of thought in the end) so he will look for all the novel moves and their refutation. Can you wear your oponent down by just taking 5 minutes to do the best move according to opening theory instead of instantly?

Hey Levy, great game! Just wanted to let you know that Stockfish 14+NNUE says you missed #46 at depth 49 when you didn't en passant his f4 pawn.
Completely winning position
This is why nobody likes stockfish lol
He should've known better to always en passant
Yeah why not taking en passant anyway doesnt matter what stockfish says
