Greetings from Aegina, Greece! Eric, thanks so much for this Tumbao (and all your other videos, of course)! I have a couple of questions and I would really appreciate your help with this: I'm trying to play the clave with my foot (bass drum pedal on woodblock) while I play the congas and I was wondering if this would be played on a 2:3 Son Clave and if your first open tone on the Tumba would start on the 8 of the Clave. I tried playing the first open tone on the 1 of the Clave and it doesn't sound bad to me but I am kinda clueless and I don't want it to be crusado...I'm asking because when I listen to this Tumbao, it sounds like it really starts on the first open tone on your Conga when I match it to the simple Tumbao. I hope my randomness makes sense.

Hey Eric, of course I've been telling my aspiring Conguero
Friends to subscribe to A Percussion Life and they have done so. Now they are happier Congueros. Now I feel I can make another request about the significance of time and how it relates to the Tumba. If you would generously give us 3 (bass-ic) different simple Tumba bass riffs examples with corresponding number counting, e.g. 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and this would certainly help solidify keeping us grounded and in the pocket. Of this I'm certain. What do you say? With much appreciation, respect and admiration for all the hard work you so generously put out for A Percussion Life.

I'm liking them... I've always preferred Steer over Mule unless its a really thick mule like a 3mm... The tone from Steer has always been my vibe BUT these heads sound really good and their not broken in yet... so I might be speaking too soon haha
