- Link has been around since the beginning of Super Smash Bros and has evolved quite a bit over the years. Link of course comes from the Legend of Zelda Series. His Twilight Princess Incarnation is only the best in Brawl. In Smash 4 he looks wrong. The other Twilight Princess characters looked wrong as well in Smash 4.

This is how I feel about Ganondorf’s Brawl design despite him being really bad in that game, though they really butchered his design in Smash 4 to the point where he looks more like a caricature of himself. He’s like a meme-ified version himself in that game.
I know the reuse of certain animations is probably just to make things easier but the fact that Time and Twi fight almost exactly the same way is super cool since one is descended from the other and one taught the other

They had to re-invent a lot of Link's animations to make him right-handed in SSBU, but I appreciate that attention to detail

Guess the memory loss really did change him
Each Link is a different incarnation of the character either through spirit or directly linked to the bloodline of the Hero (no pun intended). Links like the one in BOTW have always been right handed, so memory loss wouldn’t have mattered in that sense. I shall bother you no longer.

It’s amazing what detail is put in! I already knew from messing around that the shields deflect projectiles, but didn’t know that the shield’s hitbox moved with the idle animation!

I love the fact that both versions of link from twilight princess have the exact same voice , while breath of the wild link is completely different sounding , also its the same for both versions of ocarina link
They pretty much reused the respective voice samples to save time and money.

underrated opinion: TP is the better "classic design" but BotW is better in terms of how the series has come far. (Honestly some complain about his new look and quirks which is kinda valid but you cant make the same kind of person and let the dev team constrain their creativity. Thats why Nintendo also let some of their younger employees to pitch an idea to change the zelda formula, but still feel like a Zelda game)

It doesn't feel like a Zelda game anymore. Open World doesn't fit Zelda because Zelda is a story based game. It just feels like any other mainstream game we have today.

I never noticed that BOTW Link's grounded Spin Attack actually has the 3 charge thing, that's pretty cool

My favorite Link will always be Ocarina of Time. Smash 4 Link looks like a version of TP for children.
Also, I wish they kept the camera angle for Link's victory screen#2 from 64. The behind the back shot is so much more badass than the generic frontal shot.
My first thought was voting for Ness, but I kinda wanna see Captain falcon too. After looking at the list, I kinda wanna see Fox. Ultimately I voted for pikachu because i can't not vote for my mans and because Detective Pikachu is around the corner.

@@Someonee3452 Smash 4 Link is literally TP Link but much more colorful. SS Link doesn't have those arm and leg guards. Furthermore, Smash 4 Link is literally Brawl Link reused and redefined. Brawl Link is TP Link. And SS Link is right handed. Smash 4 Link is left.

That’s subjective. I personally thought Nintendo could have done a little more with Link in BOTW. He’s much more a blank slate in that game than he is in any other Zelda, to the point where we don’t actually understand what or how he’s feeling in certain moments in the actual story. I understand that there is a lore given explanation for this behavior, but that only ever worked in some memory cutscenes within the story. Otherwise, his constant blank stare and reserved body language, more often than not, kills the moods of a lot of cutscenes within the game. An example would be his reunion with Spirit Mipha. While she goes on about how she awaited for his return, he stands there as if he has nothing better to do than stare blankly. It’s moments like that really stand out and kill the mood of an otherwise emotional scene. A scene in which Link’s emotions are on full display and it doesn’t feel off in the moment is in Skyward Sword, where he attempts to stop Zelda from sealing herself in the past. While yes, the moment before the direct action was a bit silly with the poor execution of his face before the sealing, it doesn’t change the fact that his reaction to situation at hand was *PERFECT* in my own personal opinion. If you’re the kind of person that gets attached to the Zelda of that game, you may be one of the few people that would react in the way Link did in that scene. I especially have to applaud the amount of sorrow you can visibly see on his face at the moment Zelda finishes sealing herself. It doesn’t feel out of place or kills the mood, as the emotional pain he feels is consistent with the scene at hand. I know there are a lot of people who couldn’t give two shits about Skyward Sword, but that doesn’t change the fact that they at least tried to make their Link engaging. That’s it for my rant.

I found out that Link can charge because Toon/Young Link say they can. When you think about it, they’re all echo fighters of each other if Toon/Young had less range, toon has single smash instead of double/triple, and Link is ancient arrow.

Amazing video! I've been looking for something like this for a while, especially since Link's big changes in Ultimate. It would have been nice if you had faced Link to the left and flipped the video to keep consistent (as BotW link is right handed) but even as it is, this is insane.

The Down Air needs to use SSB and Melee Sound depending on Surface, not Brawl, 4 or Ultimate.
The Neutral Attack Sword Thrusts need to return. The boomerang attack should have the tornado effect to cause damage from behind regardless if the boomerang physically hits or not, plus draws them in closer to you.
