Informative as always. You have a plan to keep the bugs off Leno, and I know she will appreciate it. I love that field cultivator/plow, gets it done. Add another quarter century and I hope you are still as enthusiastic about the dirt. Something about working the soil and planting food is it’s own reward, JMO. Thanks for sharing and keep on keeping on. Stan here.
Man yeah, out in the dirt !! Absolutely loved the camera angles and seeing the 140 out scratching ground!! Man I hate that about the broccoli, but loved the sentiment at the end, he let us live another day and be blessed!! Thank you Joey, looking fwd to the next one!! 😁😁🇺🇸🇺🇸
That 140 with the chisel plow did a nice job I left my taters in the ground last year in three rows two rows are up nice but the third row did not break ground yet .I planted corn the beginning of March here in North East Tn I was told I planted way to early but it was just to see what would happen and I now have a nice stand of little corn .
Thanks for sharing the video Joey. Yes sir that's bound to help with the bugs for y'all. Sorry about that globe on the lantern. Hope you are able to get some more broccoli plants. Dang rascals are working on it. Take care.
Hi Joey , yea it’s getting to be that time of year.. I got to get started my self. By the time I saw the video it had rained and I got about a half inch. Thanks for sharing. Have a good week. 😎😎 👍
I guess maybe I haven't seen any thats not wore out. All the ones I got are that way, but they also hill ok as long as they are greased from time to time.
Every day above ground is a good day! Hate to see your broccoli eat up by the dear. I enjoyed the video and the Monday night live this week (other than the bugs getting all over you and Leno). God Bless!
Got everything disked this weekend. One garden has to let the weeds rot down. Small garden was good and could of been ready to go, but we got 2.5" of rain overnight and turned it all to slop. Probably can get into it for at least a week I bet.
Try Imperial Broccoli seed. I direct seed it. Handles July heat in middle Tennessee. I get spring & fall crops, first mid to late July then plant again early to mid August. Kept a batch going into mid December last year with a few days of frost cover required.
I've disc a couple times up here in KY this year just to break up the winter wheat. I tossed a few carrot seeds out and onion starts neither of which do well. I wanted to get the potatoes out last week but the farmall puttered out on me when I tired to hill. I think I'll retire that gal and just hill and cultivate with the 464. 🤔 I've got an extra set of 1948 cultivators I may adapt to 3ph.
@Jtwes I actually plan on basically using the cultivators off the Farmall C and welding them together. I have everything on hand to do that and for some reason I've ended up with a couple sets of them.
Too bad about the brocolli, rabbits will also get it. I have to make small cages from chicken wire to put on my brocolli and cabbage to keep rabbits away. Got a small area tilled yesterday, going to be a small garden this year. 1 inch of rain last night.
I know for a fact that I've been blessed to be here for my 52 years, because I almost only made it 49. Sorry to hear about your broccoli plants getting robbed by the deer...I like the idea of the alarm/motion detector though. Another TH-camr made the suggestion to plant his Garlic close to certain plants because supposedly Deer don't like the smell of Garlic or Onions. My first thoughts were this guy is going to be so highly disappointed, because I have watched deer step over garlic to get to my cucumbers a few years back. I tried to tell him then, but he didn't listen. So as it states in the Good Book, I dusted my feet off and moved on. God Bless and I hope your 2024 Garden season gets better and more abundant with a huge harvest. Can't wait to follow along.
Hey Tater I’m thankful to the Lord he got you past that 49 . It will be fine we’ll get some more plants and reposition that alarm were the side beam is getting it and go from there. Can’t really blame them I would eat it over what’s out there right now . Lol
You’re right but I’m afraid I probably can’t find that style anymore. I had heard of them but never saw a set only to realize I had a set. Danny corn had a beautiful stand.

Thanks Stan I do enjoy it. Disking is my favorite.
I think you're getting off to a great start on the summer garden Joey. I pray it's highly productive this year for you and the family.
I’m hoping by next Saturday to have it all worked up and tons of good videos.
@@Jtwes Sounds like a good plan. 👍

Thanks Nelson . We’ll plant some more.
@@Jtwes Sounds amazing!!
You got it right Man, giving thanks and the Glory to The LORD. Oh, nice farmall's and Garden.
Amen Brother. Thanks for watching.
Enjoy your videos. We garden every year for about 50 years now.
Hey Steve
Thank You.Its a blessing for sure to be able to garden a little. Even if it’s just some containers.

I would count my blessings on that corn. It’s good we have a spring we’re it’s worked out for you.

Hey Bart
I’ve been meaning to look for another one. I told William to pick me up some more plants tomorrow.
I really appreciate your videos, I'm moving to Virginia very soon and I'm glad to learn from a good honest person 👍
Thank You Kevin you can contact me anytime.
@@Jtwes are you in Virginia?
No I live in Caswell County NC it just below Danville VA
@@Jtwes that really awesome, I'm moving to Virginia but I like NC more lol I'll be in touch someday, I appreciate it
Let the summer fun begin!

Hey Tommy
I’m hoping to get it all bedded up by next Friday.
I guess maybe I haven't seen any thats not wore out. All the ones I got are that way, but they also hill ok as long as they are greased from time to time.
They probably would do ok I just don’t like them to move after I set them. They will lean inward when the hit the dirt.
Every day above ground is a good day! Hate to see your broccoli eat up by the dear. I enjoyed the video and the Monday night live this week (other than the bugs getting all over you and Leno). God Bless!
Thanks Greg . We’ll get our outdoor studio dialed in and hopefully it will be enjoyable.

Depends on the wind. We’re looking at a 10 or 12 day stretch. It’s going to be very tempting to plant next week but I’m going to stick to my guns.
Good video. I plan to cut my inground garden tomorrow or Friday. All the best from Greensboro NC.
I believe we’re going to have a good ground working up stretch.
Great garden...and equipment! Blessings.
Thank You Delton. God Bless

I told William to stop by southern states tomorrow and get me some if they have it.
Love it!
Thanks Lee
Your “worn out” disk looks about like my good set. My wore out set have so much play in them one could just about do both sides of the row 😂
That’s pretty funny I’ll have to tell that on the next live.
Put some sweeps on to cultivate that onions with
Best I remember, those disks have the same bearings as the ones for Grandpa's Cub.
It’s funny Mark I’ve heard of them but never seen a set and then come to find out I had a set . Lol
@@Jtwes Talk about wore out, I think Grandpa's was like 10 inches across.
That thing just purrs

Yes sir very doable. Get you one of those tool bars I showed in my NC Farm show video towards the end and you can do a lot.

I notice you failed to mention anything about the lantern incident on the live the other night lol
Shhhhhh Don’t tell everybody I broke my birth year lantern. Lol

Got a small area tilled yesterday, going to be a small garden this year. 1 inch of rain last night.
I forgot to check the gauge this evening but I’m pretty sure we just got a few tenths.
If it would stop raining, I'd start....

The new bearings are not nearly as good as the old type was.

Try and go a little faster JT.
