Lighter fluid (for cigarette lighters - Zippo, Ronsonol) is excellent for sticker/label removal on both plastic cases and album jackets. It doesn't harm the album image, it doesn't have a strong odor and it won't hurt your skin. Just wet the label with a small amount, wait a minute, and the label will peel or scrape right off. Goof Off is also good for label removal on plastics. Don't know about paper album covers though.

Maybe get a boombox and make my own mixtapes or something. Anyways, keep digging!

If my source is some audio from TH-cam or mp3 (because it's either some live acoustic version or it's just someone that's unsigned to a label), is it better or worse to record on a type 2 cassette, instead of type1? I'm working from digital to analogue, so I hope to keep as much warmth as possible, which you don't get from the studio or radio edited versions. It may sound like overkill, but some music is only available online, and usually already compressed, so I'd like to get the best recording I can. And what about CD's, would type 1 or 2 be better? thanks for your help.
If you have the time and patience for it, I managed to pick up a straight razor at a flea market a few years back and once I got it sharpened it became my favorite sticker-removal tool. No screwing around with liquid rocket fuel or anything like that and they'll usually come off in one piece after a minute or two.
I still have some cassette tapes that are not released on vinyl or cd. I also have some reel to reel tapes. good stand along cassette players are getting harder to find now that tapes have come back.
UPDATE : I finally got a record player, it has a cassette player on it as well. Just thought I would share that because I told you, you made me interested in vinyl.

Spray some goo-b gone on a napkin and dab it on the sticker. Slowly pick at it. It will make your cassette cover smell citrus-y for a bit but it's worth it. This also works for record jackets as well.
I had the best Cassettes collection ever that I lost in my storage. I still have some of my good looking colorful cassettes left at my parents house. But the ones I had in my storage, I had glow in the dark cassettes, I had tapes released in 2004-2018 from a Russian store. I had pink and blue glow in the dark cassettes to which I lost, thanks to my oldest brother. Now I'm starting everything all over again. I lost over 4,000 nice looking colorful cassettes in my storage, after I lost my house, and the storage lady sold it all off. Now someone else is showing off with my nice, colorful, glow in the dark cassette collection. Thanks to my oldest brother. I could've been showing people my collection, even send them some of them, since I had so much of them. I recorded all of my cassettes louder and cleaner than CD's and all for what? What do you mean tapes are coming back? I've never stopped recording my music on a magnetic audio compact cassette tapes. I still record all of my favorite music unto Audio Compact Cassette Tapes till this day. I just purchased brand new 10 5 pack 90 minute blank Audio Compact Cassette Tapes today on March 9th, 2020 at Fred Meyer's. You'll find it at Fred Meyer's. Cassettes are awesome! I record all of my CD's unto cassettes before CD's get all scratched up, and make my cassettes sound louder and cleaner than CD's and especially MP3's. Louder and cleaner. Cassettes sound better than CD's! Only idiots don't know how to record unto cassettes properly, and they assume that they don't sound good. No, cassettes sound very good, better than CD's and Records.

To get rid of those annoying stickers put a hair dryer over the sticker and slowly peel it up as it heats up.

make sure to buy sponges for your cassettes if u buy them second hand because you can mess your cassette up
