    Hi, I was thinking about a potential improvement for the GV301 2021 model. It would be great if the screen hinges could be modified to the upper position, similar to the newer version GV302 2023. This adjustment could help avoid the screen blocking the fans’ hot air flow, potentially enhancing the device’s performance. What are your thoughts on this idea?

      Not a bad idea, for sure ASUS will improve this laptop for the next generation based on the customers Feedback.

      Hi bro! Try to repaste the cpu and gpu..if you haven't done any liquid metal in the past..you can use a good quality thermal paste for the cpu instead of liquid metal. I recommend Gelid, Noctua, Arctic or SYY for the thermal paste. That might solve the issue. Just follow the step by step tutorial on how to teardown.

    Hello, I had to replace my CPU fan on my flow x13 but noticed that on the heat pipes there seems to be some kind of leakage as it looks wet. I researched online and found that it seems to be normal and nothing to worry about. Would like to ask for your expertise if this is normal that it looks like a leakage/wet on the pipes going to the GPU? My temps when connected to an external monitor while on silent mode seems to be fine at GPU 46C & CPU 51C. Thanks!

    I have the same model, mine feels hot recently so I am considering a repaste. That said, liquid metal is a solid choice for this pc but kinda risky and I am thinking of replacing with grease type (I am thinking of Kryonaut). How much of a difference do you think compared to liquid metal (like 2-3 deg difference?)?

    • @TakeThatScrewOut
      @TakeThatScrewOut  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you're going to replace it with good quality thermal paste instead, probably few deg. difference higher than using a liquid metal. Should go with liquid metal but just being careful when you apply it.. Nice and slow without any mess and don't overfill on the die pkate. Just one or two drops of the liquid is should be sufficient and spread it nice and slow with the included buds leave maybe 1mm on all edges around the plate.

      Hello bro! Try to check both fans are still working when laptop turns on and during heavy loads..then, if still does..possibly your heatsink fins are block with dusts and the paste of the gpu and the liquid metal needs replacing with a fresh one.

      Seems like you need to do some work on that laptop bro..i would say, yes! Try to thoroughly clean both fan blades, fan heatsink fins, replace all thermal pads and repaste both cpu and gpu..i would recommend to use a high quality pads and paste., like Arctic mx-6 paste or Noctua NT-H2, and Arctic TP-3 thermal pads or Gelid xtreme or equivalent. Its worthy to do it. Make sure to use the right thickness of the pads and with paste give ample amount of paste then spread the paste on the die using spreader or any spatula.

      The stock from factory on this unit is Liquid metal..ive test COD WARZONE after i've change the liquid metal..to be honest there was no changes of temps on my side because this unit i've done is just a year old, but the temps was really good 65-75 deg average on Med settings played for about an hour. Unfortunately i don't have a recorded footage on that test and the laptop is not on my Studio anymore..all my unit will come and go on my studio. Be careful changing your liquid metal because a single mess could cause you short circuit. Its easy bro, just be careful.

    On the vrams and power section (vrm) is given a thermal putty such as Upsiren UX Pro. Thermal paste will not transfer heat adequately efficiently, because the heatsink will not adhere or the paste layer will be too thick, above a thickness of ~0.5 mm also the paste transfers heat poorly as well as there may be a pump-out effect.
    For the core I advise phase-change material Honeywell PTM7950. It comes in as a sheet, lasts longer and performs in my experience works better than traditional pastes.

    • @goorthiss
      @goorthiss 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@bongli7848 Liquid metal will be more efficient only that with it you need to take special care so that it does not leak out and short circuit. With PTM there is no such risk.

    • @TakeThatScrewOut
      @TakeThatScrewOut  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      From my own opinion, liquid metal is a bit better when it comes to transferring heat if done properly..but not that much difference..but you have to consider the risk of applying liquid metal.

    • @TakeThatScrewOut
      @TakeThatScrewOut  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! This laptop originally used a liquid metal stock from factory..if you use same for replacement..1gram liquid metal is more than enough..so, just buy 1gm i think thats the smallest that you could get. And be very careful when you apply those stuff.

    • @6PHINX
      @6PHINX ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TakeThatScrewOut yeah right! I already bought the liquid metal, but motherboard still has the paste on videochip and I assume it's more than 1g for chip and components

    • @TakeThatScrewOut
      @TakeThatScrewOut  ปีที่แล้ว

      @6PHINX liquid metal on this laptop was only applied on the cpu die..but if you want both cpu and gpu.. check that gpu heatsink plate make sure its not Aluminium cause it could damage it and disintegrate the metal.

    • @TakeThatScrewOut
      @TakeThatScrewOut  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi bro! The one that you got are the latest one but buildwise they are just similar from its predecessor..they actually have a really good quality build as you can expect from most ASUS product, but this laptop is quite thin, it has a thin metal body..I believe its a Magnessium alloy (correct me if i'm wrong) body which is strong but that could still possibly dent when hit on high impact like other metal bodied laptop, the LCD screen are very vulnerable area could possibly be damage. It depends on how strong would be the impact.

      Hi bro! two years old laptop is still fresh unless your laptop has been use for heavy gaming every single day..i don't recommend you to change at this time, maybe wait for another year, but its up to you to decide.. and be aware ASUS ROG FLOW X13 uses a LIQUID METAL ( factory stock) NOT THERMAL PASTE for the cpu die. liquid metal application is a bit tricky and risky unless you're confident on how to do it. 55 degrees temps on idle state is perfect and thats majority temps on most laptop.

    thermal paste instead of thermal pads on memory chips and VRM is not true

    • @TakeThatScrewOut
      @TakeThatScrewOut  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi bro! This laptop has a thermal putty on the Vram chips..hence i run out of putty i've used a thick paste instead, which serve a similar performance as a putty..i guarantee no difference at all with the performance..actually most paste would actually transfer heat better than putty. The only downside using paste is more expensive and not reusable.
