Been there, sucks when you realize that you've cut the wrong size. When we had an LNS (local needleworkshop), the owner told me about this great app that will calculate your stitch count, fabric count and what margins you want and tell you what fabric size should be. It's called 'Cross stitch calculator' and the icon is a moon and stars with a needle.
I've also tried to do my own framing - if you have brown paper bags or kraft paper on hand (cardstock could work too) plus some double sided tape - you can cut it to fit the back of your frame and protect the back of your stitching/lacing.
Lovely projects! I can't wait to see the fish complete, because that looks so cool!

Thank you for that tip! I will use that for sure. I’m working on the fish as I type I might just finish it in time!!

Loving your channel Kelsey! Your bags and your gift tags are freaking awesome! The last thing I need is another type of craft project but I may have to try those tags at some point. Great job with your stitching this week too!

Your fish is great. Awe glad about the stickers for your daughter. I would say cut your fabric 3 inches or work on a large piece of fabric and cut later. Caterpillar was a mystery Sal. Just don’t let cat City get wet. It washes away. Harbor will wash off too. It’s harder than you think. HA! Enjoy. Cricket is nice but a lot of color changes. I do want to do your village.

Love that Lizzie Kate Santa - hope the fabric works out. For next time it is best to always work out your fabric size from the stitch count. Take the fabric count you are working on and, if stitching over 2, divide it by 2. This gives you your size in inches. So for the Lizzie Kate the stitch count is 83 x 83. 83 divided by 12 (24 count stitched over 2 so needs to be 12) would give you 6.9 inches x 6.9 inches. To be generous if you added 3 inches on all sides which would give you 12.9 inches by 12.9 inches. Hope this helps for the next new start! xxx

I’m soooo late! 😂 I’m working my way through my watch later playlist lol. Anyways, wasn’t that a brilliant idea to have an emergency kit?! Like, that’s when you know you’re a seasoned cross stitcher (I have yet to put one in my car 🤭 but it’s just a matter of remembering) Loved everything in this video but your quilted bag made my jaw drop! You did such a good job! ❤ I’m terrified of my sewing machine 😂

Aww you are too sweet! It definitely tested my skills to the brink! And the car kit! It’s the best idea ever!!!

I loved the extra long video! I normally watch from the sidelines but couldn’t not comment this video. You’ve made such great progress on your fish! My first project I started was similar with heavy confetti, why do we do these things to ourselves ahaha!
Fall fairy is on my wish list along with the spring fairy one also from dimensions! It’s so pretty. One day I’ll have them displayed side by side

I enjoy watching your videos. I was going to let you know that Fat QuRter Shop and 123 Stitch have calculators on there web site that calculate the size material you need for your chart. You put in stitch count, the number of stitches height and width an how many inches you want in the border and then it will tell you the size you need. If nobody has asked for the Fall Angel, I would like to stitch. I have looked at it many times.

Usually I'm just a lurker, but I just wanted to hop in the comments and say what a wonderful job on your progress you are making!! It is so awesome! Side note- maybe your fabric for the Santa pattern was supposed to be the other way? So how much space you had at the top was actually supposed to be rotated and at the side for the words? That's something I thought of as you were showing it, but maybe not!

+ Fall Fairy is GORGEOUS- I have to agree, it is not a unicorn of mine personally, but I am in love with it just by looking at it and probably will end up purchasing it !
