I'd highly recommend 28g savage gear seeker in white or silver/green. Deadly for bass and cast a mile. Would be ideal for bass out of reach. Great video as always.
Forsure seekers great lure for when there feeding on top love white, also green, black also great catcher, others very good for long range top feeders is Samson shad in black,x-rap magnum cast 100 blue 42g ,and jenzi phantom F blinker diamond spoon 17g gold , or copper ,I had had bass just under 9lb last summer in uk on one of these ,great small spoon, 45g silver great for bluefish if your planning to fish Mediterranean, tightlines 😎🐟🇪🇸
When casting them at distance, they skip out of the water for an instant, like a bait fish running from something. They're excellent in the surf for bass and pike seem to love them also.
Yeah the seekers do cast extremely well however, I could’ve put a 70g lure on and it still wouldn’t have hit the area the fish were in. It was way too far out to reach. I do love how shallow the seekers swim over rough ground though, I just don’t use them that much to be honest.
LOLz, I imagine a rather cheeky Jay from Smash Fishing chugging in on his boat and catching all those far off fish, giving a wave as he does! Great to see you out again, Cal. Also superb to see the weather starting to improve, I'll be dusting off my gear in the next couple of weeks!
Nice to have the best bass fisherman in guernsey back on the tube catching bass, big smile on his face and enjoying his fishing. This is what I’ve been missing. Class as always Cal. ❤ Just remember “you’re not on the bass”
😂 that’s what it’s all about mate, catching fish is a plus but nothing like being next to the sea and having a chuck! You’ve been smashing them lately too, lovely to see 👊🏼
@@FISHINGWITHCAL fishing has been good but comes in waves. Just nice and refreshing to have your content back. 🤙 keep it up! 10k looming to. That’s the product of hard work, great content and great angler knowledge
@@BeneathTheWavesFishingJersey thanks a lot mate I appreciate that. It’s not about the subs though eh. If people like the content then great, if not, it’s still fun making videos and finding the fish. Yours is always on the up which is great to see too. Well done cal, great video and a nice bass to show for it. That tide sure came in rapid on you. Keep em coming cal and tite lines .stay safe out there.cheers.
Good upload, them redhead coloured lures in soft plastics or in minnows are deadly for Bass or anything that’s feeding, great colour for nightime as well, also great colour for trolling ,some amount of really big bass has been landed on that colour , look forward to your next uploads tightlines 😎🐟
It’s all about putting the time in and working things out though mate. The fish will come, the more you’re out, the more you’re always learning. Can always learn from the blanks too. Keep at it 🎣
how high Is the tidal coefficient? IS there a General rule what Kind of Spots (rocks, beach etc.) function with which Level of the tide? Tight lines and all the best. I appreciate Your work
The state of tide will depend on the venue you’re fishing. It’s all about working out which state of tide is best for certain spots. What you’ll find is, a spot can produce fish at certain parts of the tide then it can go quiet again. If you have the time, then you can fish the same spot when the tide either hits high tide or starts to ebb. A beach I fish over here will hold bass the whole way through the tide, from low to high. You just need to figure out which areas at that specific spot are the ones you need to hit at the right time.

The slightly longer days are what keeps me going at the moment. Just glad to get out and catch some fish too. Cheers mate.
Cal brilliant, apologies if you said this but what was the weight length of the fiish minnow red head you were using 😊

Thanks mate. Yeah the tide races in on the big springs. Always have to be careful not to get caught out.

I’ve always been a big fan of a red head lure. White lures are my go to also so the two put together are deadly! Thanks 👍🏼
Good effort. Thx for sharing. 🎣
Nice fishing mate must of been hitting something shoaling nice prime bass though 👍👍🎣
As usual Cal, another very good video, Blood Head Fissh Black Minnow kicks Ass Lol, which Rod are you using for the session?, keep up the good work👍
Yeah they’re great lures for sure. I was using a Shimano Technium 21-52g. Great piece of kit.
Thank You Cal.
Nice little video Cal just a shame you couldn't get to the swirling ones you see but there's always a next time 😊
Thanks mate 👍🏼
Nicely done as always 👍
The clocks ticking and it's getting closer for the rest of us around the country to shortly make a start thank god lol
Won’t be long now mate, good luck 🎣
Hi Cal, do you know which part of the Island bass currently are , I've tried the south east and west and have had no luck
I’ve only been a few times lately mate. West is always the best bet. Hit the low tide marks
@@FISHINGWITHCAL thanks bro, would you recommend soft plastics for this time of year or still the hard lures
@@bozzerzzz8440 Both will work well, just slow down the retrieve a little.
Cool vlog just drew a blank on Angelsey fished 2.5 hours over 2 days 2 spots totally enjoyed it but novice atm
