Well the first line of defense for Wyatt's family is the fact the Gimore family has chosen to stay neutral. Then combination with the fact that Volantis is on the edge of Principality of Astor. So any forces form loyal Duke Draymore will take time to get to them.

They don't know anything about him, let alone his family, they are likely safer if they are not moved since moving them would likely seem suspicious
the fact these usurper 'nobles' can't fathom a commoner being good at anything is going to be their Achillies Heel in the end. Wyatt earned his Uplifting in more ways than even he is aware of.
To be fair several loyalist nobles only really begrudgingly accept his ennoblement.
If it weren't for the commoners being stone cold afraid of them, they'd have a French Revolution on there hands tout suite.
Most of the traitor nobles will totally underestimate Wyatt but I have a feeling the Cornelius Draymore unlike most of them would not make that mistake. Especially when given the full background of Wyatt that the 3rd fleet has on him and combine that with what Jade tells them of Wyatt's actions since saving Princess Clara. I have a feeling that what he knows about Cynthia Windfield, he will put 2 and 2 together and realize that it was Wyatt commanding Samuel's Glory when it fought the Drazin, not Cynthia.

Wes is a hunter in a guild. So will the guild come to his families aid?
Uplifted to nobility makes sense his eyes are chromatic in color and not both blue, but distinctly different from other nobility. Surely his eyes will forever mark those he greets and showcase his origins and conduct will differ from what others expect of him. I know we all realize the political entanglement in his future, but filling in the back story on families and history is critical to thickening the plot now and defining the extended roles. It will be interesting to hear how you portray this feudal political arena and class based culture across interstellar space colonization. I foresee pioneers of the past, great deeds of patrons, tragic fates of others. The internal family conditions of both lines have already struck a cord within me and my hopes for the future of Wyatt, the Prince, the Princess, and the loyal families under these. Count me among those interested in the publication of this work, I keep re-listening to the story from the beginning to consider all the implications you have weaved in creating this literary drama.

Watching The water boil .! When I first started following the story there was only 6 or so chapters I was hooked the first chapter. And like a big fish . And checking 6 or 7 times a day and found my self watching the water boil.😂 Looking for the next chapter. And soon realized the next chapter will come out when it's ready just like boiling water for a cup of tea it only boil when it's ready not one second early.er. then I stopped watching the water boil and just wateing for the whistle from My kettle/ notification sound from My phone .so I just stopped watching the water boil And started following other storylines hahaha but as soon as the next chapter is posted . So make sure you have set your notifications to all so If you find your self watching the water boil like me be patient . And.gimmy gimme gimme gimme more more now 😮 just like every one else. Now I just have another cup of tea 😊😊 knowing there's another one coming as soon as it's ready
Another great chapter, I had wondered about the Hazel eyes but never would have guessed heterochromia. Nice touch. Glad the author is back to writing, really missed it.

No I'm sorry, our son died 14 years ago on a school trip, killed by the Drazzan ... ;-) Fortunately as Wyatt said he's had until very recently no friends since that time so finding people who truly know him will be difficult, also the weird naming convention might mean there is more than one Wyatt Staples, after all every Staples will be W. Staples on Volantis LOL

I'm wondering why they wanted to change his eye color anyway. Part of the procedure was to make them blue.
@@TheSolidSnakeOil Blue is the colour used by Nobles to show their social standing, it was most likely cosmetic for that reasoning, it's mentioned a few time throughout the series that commoners have brown eyes while Nobles have blue and I believe Royalty has purple
@@lapis6944 Do you remember where that was mentioned about the blue eyes? I can see how with noble in the Principality of Astor in general obsessed with looks and could see many nobles deciding to stand out more by not having common blue eyes of nobles. I can see why you think that purple eyes are a sign of royalty in the Principality , since so far the only people with purple eyes are of royal blood.
@@lapis6944 most of the nobles have silver cybernetic eyes rather than gene enhanced eyes, suggesting that gene enhancement is a whole new level of expense compared to cybernetics. I'm still curious as to why House Winfield are picking up that cost. The only thing I can think of is that by his actions in saving Clara and later foiling the coup d'etat that they regard Wyatt as someone who has carried out their role of Royal Protectors and are rewarding him accordingly, house Winfield after all were the first to talk about Knighting Wyatt

To think that someone of common birth can't possibly be exceptionally good at something? The arrogance. It's no wonder the principality is declining.
It's the education system, the commoners are bought up being told that it is there role to do whatever they are told by the nobility, meanwhile nobles are bought up being told that the commoners hare basically menial workers. It was probably originally intended that the nobles were supposed to lead by setting a good example but over time that's been corrupted
Another great episode. It was great to get an explanation of the implants. Jade is a piece of work since he was the one that killed the blue blood and blaming the Prince on it. I still want to know why they are calling him a false Prince.

Welcome back!!! Wonderful episode! Listened a second time already. Again: the new and additional graphics are a delight.
I have enjoyed every chapter thoroughly. Always looking forward to the next one. It's very well written and holds ones attention to the edge.
I am also going to download the entirety when completed, just so I can enjoy it many more times and share it with friends and family when camping sitting around a fire and looking at the stars high in the rocky mountains. I don't know how many of your listeners have seen the stars from atop a ten thousand foot mountain but it is a sterile experience that never gets dull. Thank you for the stories.

Well at least House Gimore is neutral so the Tratior forces will have to be careful not to alienated them and push them to side House Astor. Then Volantis is on the edges of the kingdom, so it will take time for any hypothetical tratiors going after Wyatt's family. To me they are more danger of large pirate Drazin raiding squadrons.
Different colored eyes wasn't what I was expecting. I was guessing cat eyes or something 😆

I like the symbolism of his body rejecting the noble’s attempt to turn his eyes blue, basically sums up Wyatt’s character in a nutshell.
One of the reasons I prefer this channel and stories, is the dialog.

OK here's one for you all to think about, who the hell is Jade working for ? We know that somehow he was the one who killed Fredrick Anderson yet he's telling his supposed master that Anderson was executed by the Prince
I first thought Hadrian, but now with the tech he used to kill Anderson, it might be the puppet master (or maybe Andrew?) over Draymore.
I am guessing one of the other human factions, not the erebians, but one of the more developed ones that are more distant from the principality. I am blanking on the other human nation names but there was one I was thinking of in particular.

When they murdered Anderson and used unknown technology in the principality, I suspected Jade was working for the ship builders, now that he’s hiding his involvement in the murder, shows that the orders were received from elsewhere, which gives me grounds for more suspicion.

I do like how this chapter started with Cynthia double-checking that the eye mutation that he now has posses no health risk the Cybernetic and genetic doctors. I do love how the head doctor reaction to Wyatt was a commoner and how Cynthia will not tolerate anyone bad mouthing him in her presence 😂. I am not surprised that the doctors like how Wyatt obeys their commands, especially when they can tell Wyatt doesn't want to be there.
I am not surprised that Wyatt is very happy to be out of the pod. I do like how Cynthia asked Wyatt if his family has history of heterochromatia. Interesting how 1 eye 👁 is vibrant ice blue and the other eye 👁 is vibrant hazel . Interesting to see that Wyatt's new eyes have zoom function.
I am not surprised that Wyatt has mixed feelings about his scar from the Drazin not being heal.
I do like the scene where Cynthia and Wyatt have a private chat first time since his new genetic and cybernetic enhancements. I do love Wyatt's reaction to the sycreter implant is to make you smell better and how Cynthia agrees at his reaction of stupid blue bloods 😂🤣😆.
It's funny how Wyatt reacts to hearing hearing all the different cybernetic and genetic enhancements for looking and smelling better.
I do like we get to see Jade fonally getting into contact with Andrew Caystion. Its funny how Jade talks smack about Clara and Cynthia but if had to face them in person wouldn't dare to say such things to keep his head 😂. Interesting that Jade didn't tell the truth that Jade killed Frederick Anderson to prevent him breaking and release intel.
Its going to hilarious when Jade finds out that Wyatt is truly a commoner 😂.
I was surprised that Clara did not come to visit Wyatt while he was in the pod Could this be a concern to disguise the importance of Wyatt It was also interesting that Jade contacted Andrew instead of Tigan
I am guessing she wanted to but all the things she needs to do to make sure the Noirnavio is properly stocked, do social interactions to support her brother and planning her campaign against the Caystion.
To me, Jade is the type of person that when given a task she rather give his superiors the full story and not a partial story. The Caystions control the 3rd Fleet and that's where most of military files on Warrent Officer Wyatt Staples is at. So Jade talks Andrew Caystion to get the full picture on Wyatt Staples and then he will contact Tigan.
Edit: After rewatching chapter 28 it seem that I mixed things up, I thought that Jade worked for Tigan but it was the Caystons. OOPPPSSS! So Jade lied to her own boss about how Fredrick Anderson died. This has made others and now me think there is a possibility that Jade maybe trip agent.
@@ArthurBuchanan-vf7kx no but she had her best and most trusted friend watching over him, Cynthia has the sort of reputation where people do not want to make "mistakes" around her, by leaving Cynthia in charge of Wyatt Clara is able to get on with the boring but necessary stuff and does not show how Important Wyatt is to her, though having Cynthia there sort of does that anyway LOL

I had to go looking at what vibrant blue ice looked like, nice. As for deep hazel almost orange I am also familiar with that, though I bet Wyatt's might be borderline unnatural. The description makes it sound like they are close to amber. What a striking combo.

The AI is good but the prompts make a massive difference, even the orer or weighting of the words has significant effect.
@@davidorf3921 Takes effort to get the AI to say things and make images the way you desire. People think that using AI tools is easy but its just a new skill that takes time to master. Writing those prompts got to be a pain. I have tried but my results have been childish.

Jade sounds like a double agent. Someone gave him an order to kill Frederick but now his boss doesn't know?
Or even a triple agent, the Prince (or whoever orders Jade on behalf of the prince) think he is Loyal, the Cayston's think he's actually there man, but the reality is someone probably outside the system gave him the ability and technology to kill Frederick

Just thought to add one more comment 😀 I have a sinking, nasty feeling with my suspicion as to the identity of the traitor simply named J Stay safe and alert dear Wyatt, trouble lurks on the horizon 🍀
It would be a real plot twist if Wyatt was a sleeper agent not even knowing it himself and not just him but his whole family for generations were sleeper agents only to be used in a dire situation and not even royal family were informed about this.
That would be a great twist. The reader would be thinking “ha ha, the nobles think there’s something sketchy about him when he’s really just awesome.” But after it’s revealed “…I guess the bad nobles were right after all…”
I hoped for glowing iris for some reason. But that works as well.

Authors medical background is showing (bone marrow function and heterochromia). I knew a girl in high school that had heterochromia. It does exist but would also been pleased with red eyes.

Has anyone else speculated why Duke Draymore has rebelled and rebels so hate the Astor’s?
Maybe the Prince has rejected romance with Draymore’s daughter Veronica?
Or, maybe diabolical machinations of forces outside and against the Principality?
And why has Ekhidna introduced then given so much time to Gabrielle, the Duke’s son?
Revenge for a demotion or death among the Caystons?

An earlier episode had indicated that Duke Draymore is getting help from an outside source. Perhaps they promised him something once to Principality is defeated.
I was hoping for gold eyes..... it would have made everyone around him feel lesser in a way.

Ah, Princess Clara wants her boyfriend to smell good.
Clara does not see Wyatt in romantic light in any way or at least consciously. Subconsciously on the other hand I can see is a different story, subconsciously Clara sees that in many ways Wyatt would be good partner for her, particularly after he completes the training that Redford and Cynthia give him to mold him into the best knight he can be, especially since he is 1 of Clara's few true friends who is utterly loyal to her.
Also Clara knows that Wyatt is probably not going to even think of romance at least until he feels like he is a competent officer and noble.
@@Soundwave119 I would lay odds that at some point Clara will end up kissing Wyatt (although it might be Cynthia who kisses him) after which Wyatt will eventually get the idea that he now has a girlfriend. But I suspect if/when it occurs it will be in a funny situation. e.g. they end up on Volantis to meet Wyatts family and have that knitting session and Wyatt's youngest bro asks which of the two ladies is his girlfriend, Wyatt goes all defensive and whichever noble he will ends up with will be the one to ask him why he's never asked ....I think that it promises to be one of the authors funnier chapters

Well THIS will get interesting.
First, I don't think Wyatt realizes he was going to be ennobled pretty much from the time Cynthia started training him. As a commoner, he was too legally and socially vulnerable to be a commoner and remain in close association with Clara, and his actions more than justified his elevation.
Yes, Jade neatly sidestepped his role as an assassin. He has plausible deniability, and sometimes the truth is a bit too inconvenient - especially since it would make the Caystons look bad (and Draymore by extension).
I have to wonder if Andrew will be killed or captured. Killing him would be easier, but his interrogation could be very enlightening. We will have to see.
Jade's access to such an extensive and effective cyber penetration suite has me also wondering. We know from Jincho and the raid on the secret base principality cyber security is a bit lame, but the suite seems a little too good. Like, maybe he's not a principality native, although the comment about "disloyal mongrels" argues he is a member of the nobility.
I guess we'll just have to see!😀
I think Jade's history has nothing to do with his equipment - more, who is providing ALL the equipment, including the stealth ships? There is a high tech player in the background.
@@ThomasTomiczek The stealth ships make it abundantly clear there is an external higher tech actor, and Draymore's "phone call" at the end of Chapter 31 solidifies that thought. My question had more to do with "is Jade a principality native, or is he on loan from the external power?" At the moment he seems to be a principality native. As for who the external group is, I still think the Ur Diviners are the best bet for reasons mentioned in other posts.
I don't think the external power is supplying all the equipment, just enough of "the good stuff" to give Draymore what they think is a decisive edge. That is a pattern seen worldwide IRL at this point.
As a side note, principality forensics seems incredibly lame. Questions like "why would you even check Wyatt's quarters? Did you really think somebody would put a QEC on a garbage scow? If it was placed in the quarters, what about checking access times - or access logs for modification?" Did Finnegan enforcers think to interrogate the dissidents to find out why they got out of line? Color revolutions always leave clues, but you have to look for them. And don't get me started on Anderson's death.
@@carsparks1980 Yep, but that means that the availability of a high-tech suite does not indicate anything. And yes, there are holes in the story ;) Well... it is still amazingly good.

I have to REALLY like something to put in this much effort.
The availability of a high tech suite is a dot, indicating several things. Intel is about finding dots and connecting them correctly.
EDIT: Now that I think about it, the seeming lack of competent forensics makes sense under this social system. With political assassinations as a not infrequent aspect of life, would nobles want a competent forensics authority? Somehow, maybe not.
