We myrtle beachians appreciate all he leaders, lead, and sharp hooks yall leave for us to step on while walking barefoot. I have a 55 gallon drum full of fishing tackle from metal detecting the state park and south end.
Sadly, there are those that make a bad name for the rest of us. I assure you we enjoy the sport and leave nothing behind to ensure the next guy doesn't know we were there.
Im down now for the week. I brought a couple of rods, and i plan to try and get some sand fleas for pompano and whitening. I'm staying at Ocean Lakes Campground, and I can't wait to fish. Good video. New subscriber for you both..
@mountainstosurf Between my two sons and myself, we fished a beach tournament that was like 2 hours long, and my youngest son won 1st and 2nd place. There were 26 people fishing all within a couple 100 yrds. MY son won 2 gift certificates for $10, so that was good. After I talked with you, that night my grandson caught a double ear infection and we had to take him to the doctors and I didn't get the chance to go hit the jetty or other places, but we managed to catch a few mullet, couple of spots, quiet a few small sharks and rays. Fished one night in front of the campground, and my oldest son did hang into a good fish, I don't know what happened, but he got his drum rig hook, bait everything back. We were told the next day that a guy was fishing last night, im assuming the guys that were below us, they had a rod pulled in due to a tight drag and braided line. It's crazy because right before my son said fish on, we all 3 were wondering why the guys below us were being so loud and shining lights on the water. My two sons and I kept seeing a green tip stick straight up and slowly going down the beach. But I'm glad you asked. All in all, I had a great time, and I can't wait to make it to that jetty next time. Hopefully, this fall
I’m staying in surf side 7/22 - 7/30 any good fishing spots there? What’s biting? I’m a Maryland Chesapeake Bay fisherman bloodworms, squid, and alewife is our bait of choice
You can fish like they are in horry but if you do hook into a shark make sure you get it back out immediately you won’t get in trouble because you can’t control what bites

This is in garden city just down the road. From surf side and we were using fresh shrimp and using what we caught for cut bait on the big rods
Shrimp is a great option, you'll catch blue fish, red drum, sharks, stingrays, whiting etc
You can fish like they are in horry but if you do hook into a shark make sure you get it back out immediately you won’t get in trouble because you can’t control what bites
Thank you for this advice 👍👍
You can’t target sharks in Horry County guys ! Big fines
I believe we were just outside of Horry.
He said he hopes to catch a shark.. never said that’s what they were fishing for.. red drum will eat cut mullet too
work on the shark ID's.......
Later found out it was a sharp nose .....
Definitely not a baby bull shark. Also shark fishing is banned there.
I found out it was actually a sharp nose shark!!!! We were just outside of Horry county so we were in legal jurisdiction 👍👍
@@slabtownfishingthis guy knows what he's talking about!
I’m goin down in June, hope I can get me some reds too 😂
It's so much fun!!! Good luck while your there 👌
