Hybe has never managed girl groups before, as that is not his role. That is what labels are for, don't be confused. Big Hit had a girl group but its members sabotaged their own careers, just like NJ is doing now.

But the end result is that New Jeans has been destroyed. This was always the most likely outcome of any such foolish power struggle. Hybe (or any Korean entertainment company) will always fight tooth and nail to prevent any idol or idol group reducing the power that the entertainment companies have over them. In the end, it is better (in the company's eyes) for Hybe to sacrifice a very profitable group in order to maintain their position of power over all of their other idols. If Hybe were to give in to such a public display of rebellion, this would put in danger the current structure of the entire Korean Kpop industry. Anyone looking at the big picture of how Korean entertainment companies operate and how Korean society in general view matters of hierarchy would likely conclude that this was a no-win situation for Min Hee-Jin. I don't understand how people can't see who MHJ is? This drama all starts with her main character energy. It is true Bang PD didn't have faith in the NJ concept and that is why Le Sserafim exists. They should have been sister groups under Source Music, but no, MHJ demanded HYBE create a whole new company for her. That is where their debut money went and why LS debuted first. MHJ didn't use her own money to set up Ador, it was hybe's. Bang PD and MHJ obviously dont like eachother, but both groups are successful. Instead of just being happy, MHJ plots to steal NJ and Ador from Hybe. That is why we are here. NJ shouldnt have picked a side. If they stayed quiet and neutral and not publicly side with MHJ, their album and activities would have continued. Min hee Jin was the one who was supposed to get all the stuff ready for the new album, but she’s the one who neglected her job neglected her work and took a day off. NJ themselves said that they killed their own career when they went public about bullying (without evidence at hand). They (and MHJ) knew that the action meant they breached their contract. They should pay penalties if they want to leave Hybe. The SK court denied MHJ injunction, so she can not return as CEO of Ador, even if NJ and MHJ cry blood. Do not blame Hybe for your own downfall.

Technically it would be possible for them to comeback with another company but under lots of hypotheticals though. Like 1 would be another company buying their contracts out (which is like 400mill or something lol) 2nd would be another company would have to pay100% for the comeback but split profits with hybe. So although Technically possible the amount of money needed for the other company isn't reasonable, so no company would do that. Plus if ur another company you'd also run the risk of burning bridges in the industry cuz of hybes influence. So the risk is just too great to even attempt it.

Secondly, all companies do “sketchy” stuff. They aren’t required to be moral paragons, and I don’t think the “morals” of a company should be as big of a deal as people make them out to me. If they make good products, then that’s all I care about. Additionally, their “sketchy” practices are common industry practices that every other company likely participated in. But because they aren’t having pitchforks sent after them to dig up all this “dirt”, other companies aren’t receiving the same backlash, even though they’re participating in the same actions. Correct, we don’t know what they have personally gone through. What I do know is that instead of working to solve this in a civil manner, they decided to throw a fit online and weaponize their fandom for their goals. I am also doubtful that they really went through much considering Hanni and Minji were laughing and joking about Hanni’s National Assembly hearing on live. That’s not something actual victims of bullying/workplace harassment do. To your last point, talent is subjective, but I do agree that NewJeans are technically better singers. That being said, I don’t care that much about how good of a technical singer you are if your songs (to me) feel very bland and have little personality in them. So yes, are NewJeans better singers? Subjectively, yes. However, their music (which is entirely subjective) is quite boring in my opinion, and not something that has ever appealed to me personally.

Sadly, the girls were let down by the adults (Min Hee-Jin and perhaps their parents, if the parents encouraged the girls to openly side with Min Hee-Jin). The girls are much too young and inexperienced to understand the politics involved and the consequences of their actions. The girls were given bad advice and now there is no coming back from the damage to their careers. Even if they could leave Hybe (without paying a huge damage payment to Hybe), I strongly suspect that other entertainment companies might black list them as the entertainment companies want to keep the power they have over all of their idols and not encourage idols to try and obtain more decision making power and influence over their own careers. This entire mess can be squarely laid at the feet of the adults around the girls who used the girls as naive pawns in the power games of the adults.

@@33145 Hybe did not want to get rid of New Jeans in the first place. It was Min Hee-Jin who wanted more control over New Jeans that started this internal power struggle. But the end result is that New Jeans has been destroyed. This was always the most likely outcome of any such foolish power struggle. Hybe (or any Korean entertainment company) will always fight tooth and nail to prevent any idol or idol group reducing the power that the entertainment companies have over them. In the end, it is better (in the company's eyes) for Hybe to sacrifice a very profitable group in order to maintain their position of power over all of their other idols. If Hybe were to give in to such a public display of rebellion, this would put in danger the current structure of the entire Korean Kpop industry. Anyone looking at the big picture of how Korean entertainment companies operate and how Korean society in general view matters of hierarchy would likely conclude that this was a no-win situation for Min Hee-Jin. It is a shame that she was willing to burn New Jeans to the ground in the process. I think that when the girls are much older that they will realize that their emotions and naivety were manipulated to their great detriment.

Stop comparing them to BTS. BTS started from bottom from a near-bankcrupt company. Their hardwork paid off and led to the establishment of hybe where some of these artists (like NJ) are so privileged.

It is true Bang PD didn't have faith in the NJ concept and that is why Le Sserafim exists. They should have been sister groups under Source Music, but no, MHJ demanded HYBE create a whole new company for her. That is where their debut money went and why LS debuted first. NJ themselves said that they killed their own career when they went public about bullying (without evidence at hand). They (and MHJ) knew that the action meant they breached their contract. They should pay penalties if they want to leave Hybe. The SK court denied MHJ injunction, so she can not return as CEO of Ador, even if NJ and MHJ cry blood. Do not blame Hybe for your own downfall.

Think only sm is different at least from the one boy group that was trying to sue and terminate their contract, cuz sm did some loop hole thing that could lock you in for like 15yrs or something like that lol
Technically it would be possible for them to comeback with another company but under lots of hypotheticals though. Like 1 would be another company buying their contracts out (which is like 400mill or something lol) 2nd would be another company would have to pay100% for the comeback but split profits with hybe. So although Technically possible the amount of money needed for the other company isn't reasonable, so no company would do that. Plus if ur another company you'd also run the risk of burning bridges in the industry cuz of hybes influence. So the risk is just too great to even attempt it.

The reality is, Min HeeJin showed them immense favoritism, and it was obvious from Hanni’s statement that they’re a bunch of spoiled brats who got upset they aren’t being treated like princesses anymore. If they stopped digging their own graves, this wouldn’t be an issue. And while it’s entirely personal, I much prefer Illit to NewJeans, so Im not personally upset by this much.

@ Fist off, yes, everyone is “biased”. Bias is inherit to everything we believe, whether conscious or subconscious, so I’m not quite sure how valid a critique that is. Secondly, all companies do “sketchy” stuff. They aren’t required to be moral paragons, and I don’t think the “morals” of a company should be as big of a deal as people make them out to me. If they make good products, then that’s all I care about. Additionally, their “sketchy” practices are common industry practices that every other company likely participated in. But because they aren’t having pitchforks sent after them to dig up all this “dirt”, other companies aren’t receiving the same backlash, even though they’re participating in the same actions. Correct, we don’t know what they have personally gone through. What I do know is that instead of working to solve this in a civil manner, they decided to throw a fit online and weaponize their fandom for their goals. I am also doubtful that they really went through much considering Hanni and Minji were laughing and joking about Hanni’s National Assembly hearing on live. That’s not something actual victims of bullying/workplace harassment do. To your last point, talent is subjective, but I do agree that NewJeans are technically better singers. That being said, I don’t care that much about how good of a technical singer you are if your songs (to me) feel very bland and have little personality in them. So yes, are NewJeans better singers? Subjectively, yes. However, their music (which is entirely subjective) is quite boring in my opinion, and not something that has ever appealed to me personally.

First off, “bias” is not a valid critique since bias is inherit in an opinion, and everyone is biased, consciously or subconsciously. Secondly, Hybe isn’t sketchy, they’re taking part in normal industry practices that every other company participates in. Since they have a witch-hunt after them, people are happy to scream at them, but not other companies, making that quite hypocritical. Third, correct, I don’t know personally what the NewJeans members have gone through. That being said, I do know that actual victims of workplace bullying/harassment don’t go on live and joke about National Assembly hearings like Minji and Hanni did, or whine about it on live in an effort to weaponize their fan base, like they all did with the TH-cam live. Lastly, the Illit point was a completely subjective one, but I’ll explain it anyways. NewJeans are technically the better singers, even though that’s subjective, I do agree (except for Minju, I think she the best singer of all of them). That being said, I don’t necessarily care about how good of a singer you are if I don’t like your music (something that is entirely subjective). NewJeans music, to me, is very bland and lacking in personality, and I think it’s just very generic pop music designed to go viral on TikTok. I have never enjoyed listening to a NewJeans song because I just don’t think their music is anything special, but that’s entirely subjective.
