Thoroughly felt motivated by Asafa Powell. I feel he has a lot more about himself that he needs to share to empower future "Asafa's". He must write a book probably call it "97 reasons why". I will buy the first copy.
Asafa is the people's champ.. has become such a person with a caring and beautiful heart. if you're a track fan and don't appreciate Asaf then you're cheating yourself..
Yas, keep doing what you do to bridge the gap between Africa and the African diaspora. I’m a Jamaican living in America and married to a Nigerian. Loving this movement!
@@WODEMAYA I remember when I started UTECH in 2003 and lived on dorm, he was living on dorm and people kepsaying he was going to be the fastest runner in the world because they had never seen someone like that before. Never heard of Asafa until I came there. At the time he drove a white Honda and alot of the athletes were dirt poor and struggling to get by there. The track house was made of board and was dilapidated. I only remember whilst on dorm, he broke the world record and we only saw the University started to be renovated with even the auditorium having on the walls that UTECH is home to world champions and alot of the athletes were walking around in Nike outfit. Then shortly after he got the title of the fastest man in history, Asafa got injured and the entire university started panicking. To treat his injuries was alot of money and the government arrange for him to go to I Believe France to get it sorted out. The coach decided to get the university to have in the curriculumn for students to learn in debt about sports injuries so that athetes like Asafa can stay in Jamaica and get their injuries sorted out. They made a different, fancy track house and gave the back football field to the track team and turned it into a track and field training ground. Studies were done on Asafa's running unusual running technique and it was said it literally was the reason he was so fast and his technique was mimicked by other athletes there and abroad to run faster. Even Usain Bolt's copied Asafa's technique.
The humbleness of Jamaican athletes is out of this world. These people are so respectful and 'class' doesn't exist in their minds. My all time favorite for Asafa Powel was Lausanne 2008 (9.72sec).
These legends should be celebrated for their past glory and putting their country on the world map. Thanks for sharing his life. He seems to be very humble man 💕
They are...sad thing is. Not by their own.....after Usain came on the scene. They treated Safa like he didn't exist. Typical Jamaicans. But get this, they don't do it just to asafa..They done it to all the stars, all the people...
@@lg4759After Asafa and Usain came on the scene Jamaicans acted like there were no other athletes before them. There was Herb McKinley and Don Quarry before them. Jamaica like to discard people for the flavor of the now. When the next athlete comes along Usain and Asafa will be forgotten too. That's how Jamaicans are. They will throw out wood furniture for cheap formica.
I had a Nigerian, uber driver who claimed to be Jamaican. I asked him which parish in Jamaica he's from he said Christiana. I wanted to laugh so badly. He was hiding his Nigerian identity and pretending to be Jamaican. How silly. I didn't tell him I'm Jamaican.

There's one question I will ask Asafa.Does he get angry? He looks like some so at peace with less ego. We all know how pple like him act sometimes like they're the boss.Big up mi breda 💪🏿
I really enjoyed this documentary. It was well put together and gave us the viewers to see Asafa Powell up close in his environment. I remember watching him before he retired along side Bolt and Blake. I still remember that race. He always appeared humble, calm and grounded. His wife seems sweet, I didn't know she lived in Ghana and Canada. Her accent sound more jamaican. What an amazing tribute!! I'm sure Asafa will appreciate this amazing video👌🏽.
Following you in the states....I enjoy learning about so many places. I have been to Jamaica, but I know there are soo many places I will not be at to travel to. You are doing such a great work,!
