  • Here's some kinda mini guide on all of the classes. I was going to make long versions of each class but I thought a nice, simplistic 5 tips video for all the classes would suffice.

I have a tip regarding the Team Meteor. Whenever you have an enemy in the background, use the Team Meteor. This will send them back to the foreground as well as stunning them as usual, letting you save time in situations where you need to pull of some damage and pull the damage off without a penalty.

Team Meteor Tip: Get the Power Tablets further away if you're any class but Hammer Lord. Hammers are slowest, so if they have to run all the way across the screen to get theirs when they could've just walked two steps before you snatched the closest one, you're just wasting time.
Also, you can push tablets by walking, if you already have one. Useful for those people who seem to forget Team Meteor even exists.
And PLEASE keep the other missions in mind. You're not the only person out there trying to get them. If someone needs to end on a Spin/Twister Slash, let them. If there's a Team Meteor related mission, you don't want to get it too early unless you're absolutely sure you can get the time limit by using it before it kills. Might not be frustrating for you if you already have it and ignore these, but please, have a heart. Let others get their gem apples.

Yes, thank you for the second one. I've played with so many people that keep using their charge attacks and completely ignore the Team Meteor altogether. I'd push the tablet over to them if ever possible, but then they don't ever let go of their charge attacks so they can pick it up. It's infuriating, especially on hard bosses.

(I know this is 2 years old)
I usually get my role ready to complete a mission but then when someone joins and doesn't change their role I just assume they are going for the same mission and change my role.
I can try the saving time thing with the people that are hammer role but I already know the other people there won't do the same and time will be wasted no matter what.
I just recently found out about the pushing thing but the enemy on screen gets in my way and makes it really difficult to give my teammates the tablets that they can't see apparently.

Hammer Lord's dash attack and downward attack have invincibility, similar to Sword Hero's dash attack. It doesn't go nearly as far, but when you're as slow as a Hammer Lord, any extra way to dodge an attack helps. Done right, these two moves can get you out of a sticky situation, while also dealing a decent amount of damage. But as said in the video, you'll still want to rely on jumping most of the time to get out of harm's way.

    • @xzanathar
      @xzanathar 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

Not sure how obvious this is, but the different levels of the time stop beam have different sizes, so learn at what height and level you can hit certain bosses (especially airborne ones) to maximize your efficiency. I guess just learn patterns in general for every class, but it counts double for mage.

  • @bluekirby_64
    @bluekirby_64 4 ปีที่แล้ว +133

    Tip as a Mage main:
DON'T ABUSE TIME BEAM. I can't stress this enough. Since the number of shots required to stop time increases as you keep doing so, it's better to keep it at minimum before the enemy enters their second phase, as you'll want the clock to fill up faster when their attacks become harder to avoid. This is especially true for tag teams, as the clock charge resets when a new enemy spawns, so there's no use in wasting time stops with the earlier (and weaker) ones.

I have 5 general tips to share as someone who beat the campaign just last night with no money spent(aka ftp).
    1. Use that slide
To do a slide, simply hold down and tap A that's all you do. It's especially useful for bosses that can jump over and try to land on you or for getting away from aoe attacks such as kracko's foreground thunderstorm attack and it's the fastest movement option for hammer lords.
    2. Buffering air dash attacks
After getting knocked away from an enemy(ie touching their body or getting hit in the air from a move that doesn't force you to get stunned) you can quickly flick the control stick left or right and hold it and quickly hitting B to almost immediately act after the brief hit stun. You won't gain any height but it does let you abuse s to get a quick multi hit attack in on the enemy, especially useful for the hammer lord and beam mage.
    3. "Parrying" aka perfect guard
If you guard right as an attack is about to connect with you, you will hear a very distinct noise to notify you've done a perfect guard and will take no damage. If you continue to hold it during a multi hit attack such as kracko's thunderstorm, you will perfect guard through all the hits. It's incredibly hard to time but the reward is worth it. Almost a necessary skill for later bosses if you want to do slightly lower than reccomended level runs.
    4. Keep your teammates around
When you ring the adventure bell, offline or not, you will get 6 randomly selected adventurers to help assist you in battles offline but once you use them once they will disappear. Their level and gear will(most of the time) be relative to your own and your heroic missions completed. They will never disappear randomly so don't be afraid to save them for a particularly hard quest/heroic mission so they can assist/do the work while you focus on the heroic mission.
    5. Don't spend your gem apples right away
This game will punish you if you get trigger happy with your gem apple uses for things like revives or getting the latest gear right away. You should save for purchases that you think will be the most important. My recommendation is to skill out your main role as long as you think you can without needing new gear and get the adventurer codex to max level asap as then you can get 6 gem apples per day. Doesn't seem like much but every bit helps in the long run. I reccomend level 4 gear being good for a long while up to about the 2nd "mysterious caped man"(trying to keep it spoiler free) encounter. Make sure it's matching for a slight stat bonus
And that's it. Thanks for reading and hopefully these tips help your game a bit.

Here's another tip. Not sure if it's bugged, but unless you want to min-max, don't bother with the class codex. The star bump you get is quite negligible and the apples it'll cost you to try and max it out ain't worth it over new gear, DX, or SDX upgrades.

As a fierce Hammer Lord main, I can tell you a couple more things.
    1. If you can spam Ultra Giant Swing (air dash attack) quickly enough, the damage output gets higher than spamming lv.3 hammer flip, plus, you're not a sitting duck. Also, since the animation continues regardless of whether or not you hit the ground, you can jump back up before he stops spinning, so you can keep spamming the move without having to constantly dash. This takes a LOT of practice to get down, but it's WORTH IT.
    2. INVINCIBILITY FRAMES. There are two moves which are almost completely invincible. Hammer Swing (ground dash attack) and Hammer Twirl (down attack). Hammer Swing gives you a slight mobility advantage, and has a much larger hitbox while Hammer Twirl lasts slightly longer, can be used in the air and does more damage if you connect all four hits. Pick your poison.

Doctor tip: When you are holding the potion but can’t find a good chance to get close to the enemy without getting hit, float overtop of them and use the potion. It’ll drop down on top of them making sure it hits, and you usually won’t get hit because of the I frames from the potion. This is also a good way to make sure the electric balls all hit.

Some more and also very important tips for Hammer Lord are
-Your dash attack and hammer twirl (down+B) are both totally invincible so you can just straight up ignore certain attacks or even the boss. For example if you jump over a boss and intend to land very close to it use hammer twirl before you land, you'll be totally invincible, do big damage, and if you're inside or too close you'll get pushed out of the boss' hitbox. Or if you're fighting someone like kibble blade or ice dragon who charge at you, you can just dash attack through them. It's all about abusing your many i-frames.
-Second, hammer flip should definitely not be the bread and butter, at least not until you have the best gear which massively shortens charge time, and yet still. Hammer flip is better saved for time stops, furious animations, or predictions. The real bread and butter of the Hammer Lord is something called landing lag canceled ultra giant swing. Basically what you do is input a quick dash, do a short jump, then do the swing which does three hits, and after it ends wait until you're right about to hit the ground then press B again and you'll do another spinning swing while also being on the ground, then jump again while inputting another quick dash and repeat this series of actions over and over. It's important to maintain a rhythm when doing so as it's easy to mess up. Mastering this tech turns hammer lord into a whirling buzzsaw of death, with this your dps will be far surpassing that of anyone else on the team to an absurd degree, not to mention the easy platinums.
I hope my fellow hammer buddies benefit from this information, and keep up the great content Etce.

Here are some of my own tips:
-Sword Hero's Spin Slash generally isn't meant to be used offensively, since you need your shield to be immediately accessible as opposed to keeping a charge; it should mainly really be used when the enemy isn't able to attack
-Sword Hero's Upward Slash can be comboed out of Drill Stab (Side+B) with no gap of invincibility frames. If you realize you're going to be inside an enemy after Drill Stab, you can use Upward Slash to escape
-Hammer Lord's Hammer Swing (Dash+B) and Hammer Twirl (Down+B) are invincible and can keep you near an enemy while they're attacking. Hammer Swing in particular is fantastic for dodging attacks
-Doctor Healmore's green potion only shows up if you're below 100% health. If you just want attacks from Science Lab, make sure to heal first
-Doctor Healmore's Book Bash (Dash+B) is a fantastic retreat option if anyone needs healing
-Doctor Healmore revives allies faster than other classes
-Beam Mage's Cycle Beam (Dash+B) is also invincible, though for less time than Sword or Hammer's dash attacks
-The effect of Beam Mage's Time Beam slowly weakens the more times the clock is stopped
-The effect of Beam Mage's Time Beam is actually multiplied by 1.5 against aerial foes as opposed to just going from 4 shots to 3 the first time the clock is stopped. The reason this is significant is because the number of shots on grounded foes goes from 4 to 5 after the first time the clock is stopped, but the number of shots barely stays at 3 after the first time the clock is stopped for an aerial foe
-Beam Mage's clock-stop also stops the in-game clock, which is why it's fantastic for getting Platinum Medals
-Team Meteor cancels out clock-stop. To avoid that, pick up the tablet pieces right after or right before the clock-stop finished

There some things I want to say:
    1) Sword's dash attack can be canceled at any point if you hold up and press B, and then you can combo it holding down and pressing B again. This combination does an insane amount of hits and makes you invencible the whole time until the end! (Also, all dash attacks have invencibility frames)
    2) When you stop time with the mage, if your armor is very good at charging, spamming Time Beam is the best option you can use, it does more damage overall, however you need VERY GOOD armor, if not, follow the trick in the video!
    3) Sword's shield is not only huge and completely invencible, you can hold it more time and allows you to rol further than any other class's block.
    4) Doctor's healing area has some start-up. This means you have to release the button ahead if an attack is coming against you, don't do it in the very last mini-second or you will lose all your charge!

I recall I once determined in TKCD that the mid-level Time Beam charge does more damage-per-second than waiting for the full charge, so that's also a good option if you want to save the time-stop for a later phase.
I'll have to find out whether the Hammer Lord's Charge Speed can ever be upgraded enough for Hammer Flip to have more DPS than just spamming Ultra Giant Swing, the dash-air attack!

I'd like to disprove one of these tips: when time is stopped, mage should be spamming level 2 charge time beam. It charges quickly, and does the most amount of damage in the short amount of time you have.
Im only pointing this out because I too used to think that dash aerial was the best dps for mage, but I found this out recently, so i'd like to spread the word.

@@fresiitah93 Hiya! ^^ Maybe you've found out how to, but yeah! To dash, I think you can either press a direction on the D-Pad twice in quick succession, or quickly flick to the side with your stick! I _think_ that's how dashing works with the stick. If not, just do that quickly, twice, as you described ^^
You’ll know you're dashing by the little dust clouds at your feet while you run, but you'll just generally be faster, anyhow!
As for the dash attack, just press B while dashing, or, for the Aerial dash attack, jump while dashing (keep holding the direction you were running in) and then press B!
Hope this helps, if you're still unsure! ^^

Tip: if, at any point, you need to stay hovering longer than you can, you can fall very slowly by mashing A, then B, then A, then B ETC in a rhythm.
The reason this works is that Kirby doesn't fall during the animation where he puffs out all his air. the goal is to trigger that animation as frequently as possible.

Extremely good video, I hope more people see this.
Another tip with Sword Hero, try up B and then use down B while in the air, it gives you a lot of invincibility frames and does a lot of good damage. It's very useful for bosses that move around a lot or are in the air a lot. Just don't go crazy with it.

  • @bdthree
    @bdthree 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Great video. I have a few more tips as well.
As hammer lord, Dash B and Down B both give good I-frames, which can be useful if the boss is using a dash attack and you can't get out the way.
As beam mage, Neutral B lets you stall for a long time in the air as well as hitting airborne opponents. It's only really useful in very select situations though (Kracko's huge lightning attack is a good example, as you can hit him while he's in the air)
Finally, as the doctor, check how much you need to heal your teammates. First charge does a very small heal, second does half, and third does a full heal. As people heal, the time it stays on the ground for decreases. This means that with the small heal you can only heal 3 people max.

Here are two more tips regarding Hammer: Use Dash attack when the enemy charges at you because it has invincibility frames during the whole move.
Also you can use his Dash Jump attack in quick succession (twice per jump) to rack up damage whenever you can't/shouldn't use Hammerflip. However this move doesn't have invincibility so it's easy to get hit while doing it.
P.S.: Don't know the English attack names. Sorry if it sounds weird

Knight users: If the enemy hovers, don't go for ground spin attack, if you hold up as the move is about to be released, you'll do a much more steerable aerial spin
Mages: DON'T SPAM Timestop, Out of your corner when teammates need you, Show the run jump B we all love to see you spam in Timestop.
Healmore: Run, jump, fowards B, The jewelry cannon is your most reliable damage per second option, (Told by an expert healmore)
Hammers: Slide out of dangers, and please, if you're an step away from my healing circle, and you're not on max health, take that step to maximize your damage

Just got into this game even though I downloaded it when it came out. Happy to know that I've been spamming the right moves for max DPS on Doctor/Mage (when everyone is healed/time is stopped), but I had no idea about half of the things you said about Sword. Also I didn't know overhealed people did more damage too! Great video. I gotta say I think I like all the classes equally, but different players make different classes fun. Like if people are responsive, doctor is really fun (I play a healer in WoW), shielding people as sword is fun (I play tank in OW), and landing Time Beam/Hammer Flip are both really satisfying with Mage/Hammer. But I think sword is my favorite for when everybody is just mashing DPS since the spin attacks are easy to charge and he's usually pretty easy to dodge things with. Though I also like mage in these scenarios since, again, landing time beams is fun. Hammer is harder though since getting interrupted all the time without any doctor/shield is frustrating. But again if people are cooperating hammer can be really fun.
One question though. Whenever I'm playing online on quests that are higher level than me (which happened a lot as I've been catching up), it seems like Mage is the best class to play since Time Beam always does the same amount of meter regardless of level/damage, and since he's strictly utility, as long as you're not getting hit and one-shot, he would be best right? I've also gone with doctor just to heal people if everyone is already on DPS. But is there any reason not to play Mage if you're the lowest level in the group assuming everyone is building the team in the smartest way?

For beam mages, do *NOT* use time beam during time stop. Use the jumping dash attack instead. Its quicker than stage 1 time beam and does double damage.
As doctor, you can jump into the enemy while using a potion because you'll have momentum and fly into it.
As sword, twister and spin slash are your best friends. Charge it when the enemy is immobile or charging attack, especially during things like Greater Doomer's flappy flap or when Blocky is sat still and invulnerable.

  • @donovanmahan2901
    @donovanmahan2901 4 ปีที่แล้ว

a few finer points on sword hero:
    1) hat thrust doesn't do as much damage as chop and thrust, which is great for enemies that are moving laterally and throwing out a lower hitbox than their hurtbox, such as ice or electric dragon using their quick-moving breath attack, or(if you can get high enough in the air in time) parallel nightmare's revenge during a moving cyclone attack (the one that wipes out most of your health if you are caught in it, you have to mash the attack button to avoid missing a hit). However, hat thrust is great for no-damage runs.
    2) the sword beam is great for enemies that have a hitbox surrounding them
    3) attacks that result in your shield breaking from the shield stun will simply ignore the shield, and unless you perfect shield, you are subject to the same knockback that other guarding Kirbys are.
    4) the dash attack can be further extended into the upward ground attack (invulnerable) during i-frames. That can be cancelled into a diving attack(also invulnerable) for a total of like 3 seconds of i-frames.
    5) twister slash can avoid a lot of dashing and shockwave type attacks and still hit the enemy with good execution (ranging from generous to frame-perfect depending on the height and width of the hitbox)
I like Sword Hero because he does a good bit of dps (rivals Hammer Lord if you don't get codexes), and can i-frame through a lot of attacks, doing significant damage in the process. IMO Sword Hero has an answer to pretty much everything.

    extra tips from me:
    Sword:
Dash Attack sometimes land you into enemies, do up+B to get out while you're still in dash do have a fully invincible rising slash, and if the enemy jumps where yous lash, press down B while you're still in rising slash animation to perform a downward slash thats also fully invincible until you land
    Hammer:
Use dash attack, since its faster than hammer's slow ass run,its also invincible most of the time and you can minimal steering so you dont have do end up inside an enemy. Down+B is also a good move, if you see yourself too close to an enemy and cant run away in time, spam down+B, best for avoiding Blocky's falling wall, swooping/charging attacks and attacks that happen only a short instance.Basically if its too unsafe to do hammer flip, use hammer twirl at the meantime.
    Mage:
Time Beam is more cost effective as a damage dealer if you do Level 2 beams, with online being laggy sometimes and the inputs for jumping beam blast not working properly, spam Level 2 time beams for the next best thing.

I have a tip for when Time Stop is active
If the boss drops all the Power Tablets while on Time Stop, dont pick them all right away, leave at least one for when time stop ends, as soon as Time Stop ends pick the Tablet and do the Team Meteor, after the Meteor the boss will stay on that stun animation for a while, this is great for all the classes with their charged attacks
Sword Hero can use the Spin Slash/Twister Slash
Hammer Lord can use Hammer Flip
Doctor Healmore can either prepare a Science Lab or create a Healing Aura if teamates are in low health
and Beam Mage can use Time Stop again, potentially freezing time again (It can be much easier to stop time again if you have two mages or more on the team)

Also another tip, but for Doctor Healmore
As Etce said you have invicibility when using science lab
but you also have invincibility when using the potions (during the whole animation btw)
Use Science Lab and store a potion, jump above the boss and use the potion (its easier with grounded bosses, but still doable with aerial ones), since you are invincible you are pushed to the side of the boss while still doing damage

  • @Jimmywty99
    @Jimmywty99 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Most of the tips in the video are for beginners only. As a veteran in both the 3DS and Switch versions, here is my version:
Sword Hero - Defensive, with decent Offense
    1) Pogo Bounce has pathetic damage output. Using Chop against airborne enemies is often more preferable.
    2) Skyward Sword Beam has even more pathetic damage output. It's almost never worth using unless when the enemy is invincible (during 2nd phase transition), then you may charge up the beam before charging up your Spin.
    3) Hero's Shield is helpful in protecting teammates that are charging, or defending against strong attacks, such as high AOE attacks from late-game bosses. Be careful though, it cannot defend against most of the Grab (Pyribbit's tongue) and Crush (Whispy Woods' drop) attacks.
    4) Extend your invincibility by using Dash+Attack -> UP+Attack -> DOWN+Attack. You may also fly instead of using DOWN+Attack to try jumping over the enemy in case you miscalculated the distance and went inside the enemy's hitbox.
    5) Spin Slash has a wider range, while Twister Slash allows you to hit airborne enemies more easily. The first hit of both Slashes is most powerful, and you can often get a "double hit" if you spin towards the centre of enemy when the its hitbox is deactivated (during Time Stop/after Team Meteor).
    Hammer Lord - Slow
    1) Hammer Flip takes too long to charge up, and reduce your movement speed even further while disabling jumps. Unless your gears provide a great enough Charge Speed Boost, the highest DPS combo is (non-dash) Jump -> Attack -> Attack. Charge up only when the enemy is invincible.
    2) Good tip, the extra damage from the fire on Charging is nice.
    3) I never know this little fact, wow. Anyway, due to HL's low horizontal speed, jumping over the enemy might be more practical than Dash+Attack your way through it.
    4) Charge your attacks during 2nd phase transition is a general tip for everyone except Doctor, who should release Healing Aura first, then charge up its Lab
    5) Timing and prediction, again, is more of a general tip. many enemies towards the end have attacks that come out with no telegraphing (Kibble Blade & Bonkers Spin Attack), which makes getting up close (by extension, SH and HL classes' main playstyle) extremely dangerous.
Doctor Healmore - Healing & Reviving at no HP cost
    1) Great opportunities for healing are: You teammates are dying, enemy being invincible, during a Time Stop/Team Meteor. Otherwise, get into the attacking instead of sit in the corner doing nothing.
    2) Science Lab invincibility holds you in place, and the duration is not too impressive either, so you'll likely to get hit right after both the Preparing and Casting. Being a Healer, I think you shouldn't be afraid to block and heal yourself right after.
    3) Nothing to add here, you keep your potion via tapping the Shield button.
    4) Since Doctor is the only class whose normal Charge is not damaging, Jewelry Shop is your best damaging move, for both its consistency, speed and accuracy.
    5) I still believe Jewelry Shop is more preferably than Bandage Spin, since you'll be hitting three times with the former anyway, why not pick the better damaging move.
    Beam Mage - Time-stopper
    1) Time Beam is the most valuable assets of Beam Mage, since most of the challenge comes from defeating the enemy in time, as opposed to staying alive until the end. Stopping time means you will have more chance for dealing damage (and less need for frequent gear upgrade, save yourself those precious Gem Apples)
    2) The shots it take to stop the time depends on how many times time has been stopped. For long match against tough enemies, you may need up to eight Level 3 Charge to successfully freeze it again.
    3) Stay in the side of enemy with less teammates. If 3 teammates are on the left, the enemy is more likely to be targeting its attacks towards the left, so you staying on the right lets you get in more Charge Attacks.
    4) Agree, Beam Blast is the most damaging move of Beam Mage. Use it if time is frozen, when you know the enemy will move away soon, or when there is simply not enough time on the clock for another Time Stop.
    5) This is literally the same tip as few of the above. Charge attack
Extra: Beam Mage's Level 1 Charge is pathetic, let it out only when you are about to get hit in the face. Level 2 is for enemies that move around/teleport a lot, since getting a weaker hit in is always better than not hitting it. Level 3 is for sitting ducks, which are most grounded enemies. Don't be afraid to let out a weaker Time Beam.
Note: Beam Mage is the META of this game if you know how to play. DPS stands for Damage-per-Second, and if you can still pile up damage when time is stopped, you are dealing more Damage with the same amount of Second, thus higher DPS.

    • @Jimmywty99
      @Jimmywty99 4 ปีที่แล้ว

I am not saying the video giving out blatantly false tips, I am just disagree with some of the opinions, one of them being Time Mage is the character with the lowest DPS.
Beam Mage is the META of this game if you know how to play. DPS stands for Damage-per-Second, and if you can still pile up damage when time is stopped, you are dealing more Damage with the same amount of Second, thus higher DPS.
(One is enough, but more wouldn't hurt)
Doctor heals. If you're tackling quests under-levelled/under-geared, they will give you a better fighting chance. Also, you can revive teammates without losing your own HP, while other roles do.
(One is enough, but more is a waste of slot)
Sword Hero has the most reliable damage output controlled by AI. In long fights, however, they fall short in protecting/keeping everyone alive.
(Can't decide if it's the best filler for AI between it and Beam Mage)
Hammer Lord is too slow to be able to hit anything, unless you are paired with Beam Mage that knows how to freeze the enemy well.
      (Not recommended in general situations)
Time Mage > Doctore Healmore > Sword Hero > Hammer Lord

    • @Etce
      @Etce  4 ปีที่แล้ว

I said that Mage DPS doesn't mean anything when time is stopped. Mage's DPS without Time Stop is absolutely inferior to the Doctor, and without Spin Slash, I'm pretty sure Science Lab could out damage Sword if you're aware of how the cycles work. Still, mathematically speaking, Doctor's Science Lab outdamages anything Mage can do, especially the lightning potion on 3 hits. I'm not arguing that Mage isn't useful, but it has the lowest DPS. When time's stopped, it's usually every other class doing more damage than the mage. The Mage's job is to stop time for the others, who will do more damage than it.
But now that it's been brought up, I do think I might try a side by side comparison, to put speculation to rest. I have to get to level 100 and do experiments with one of my friends and make sure we mathematically have the same Attack Stat.
Beam Mage was hit with a Time Stop cooldown nerf in the Switch Version from what I can see, especially when there are multiple mages. Don't get me wrong, Time Stop is the best thing since sliced bread, but stat wise, if a mage used time stop and it was just it and a doctor, I don't think Doc would lose that.
Hammer Lord is too slow but it rewards timing. As a hammer lord, perfect guarding is absolutely necessary but this isn't a skill that the average player would have. I'm thinking of doing some Hammer Lord Solo runs to show how it's vertical mobility combined with proficiency in perfect guard makes it really hard to play, but possible. But when Meta is considered, Tier Lists are literally based on the ease of a character to get it to high play; one person (or just me) won't be able to prove Hammer is a good class just because I'm good with it so I'd probably accept that it's not for everyone and the others are better suited for the casual player.

I just wanted to clarify this list is absolutely fantastic. Yes indeed. I wish we could have conversed before I made this, but I did indeed make it for beginners (as stated in the thing). I'm thinking of doing a very advanced guide, perhaps on each class and I'm looking for da big brained individuals to help me out with it. Message me on Twitter sometime if you can. I do want to add small things to it.
      Sword
      1) Pogo Stick trumps Nightmare during his tornado attack with lots of damage because you're pinned at the top of the screen and bouncing off of him quick. But this is boss matchup so I didn't include it.
      Hammer
      5) Yeah, but for this class, the slowest class, I feel like it should be emphasized because.. I see everyone charging hammer flips willy nilly and I'm like pls stop getting hit I need u for damage.
      Doctor Healmore
      5) This is specifically for the 'kill with meteor' missions. This one's my bad. This is if you're seeking Meteor without killing them, shoulda said that like I did with the twister slash tip.

You're right about Beam Mage being inferior in terms of pure damage output, when my charges can't hit, this role feels hopelessly weak. Those are the times where every other role has at least some moves in their disposal that allows them to hit above them.
That being said, if you are broke like me and you have no friends/online membership to play with other human beings, I would say Beam Mage is the role you cannot not be controlling. (Human can aim charge shots better than AI, without a doubt)
Truth to be told, while I did put lots of time in both games, Hammer Lord and Doctor Healmore are two I didn't invest much time on controlling.
Hammer Lord is too slow, thus making it super risky especially when you're severely under-levelled, and have so limited healing, so I just avoid this role almost entirely, even with end-game gear. Again, I am a solo player, so I won't get much help from teamwork-ing with AI.
Doctor Healmore is, well, a doctor, and I just prefer the Time-Stopping support role over Healing. Also, I feel like the potion is just not as versatile since you can miss grounded foe fairly easily. Beam Mage's dash-aerial, however, can be performed twice per jump while dealing respectable damage. Plus, you still have some control over its aerial movement, so it's a more consistent source of damage in my opinion.
So yeah, I would love to see how you can play these two characters well (considering how few videos of decent gameplay footages there are on TH-cam about this game at the moment)

I'm sorry to say that I cannot message you on Twitter, because well, I don't use Twitter. In fact, I haven't even use phones for months. (talk about being out of the loop)
If anything, I would be glad to continue our discussion. If you don't think a long comment thread on TH-cam is a good place for it, we may try out DM on reddit. I haven't tried it, but I think it'll work just fine.
Pogo Stick has its use, but I'm too impatient and aggressive for monotone-bouncing on enemy's head (except when I'm playing Hollow Knight/Shovel Knight). So yeah, this is one of the things I'm excited to see you demonstrate and compare it with Twister Slash as well.
Hammer Lord is hard to use, I also agree. Can't wait to see how you make do with its slowness.
I often have no trouble completing "kill with meteor" missions, because the final blow has to be dealt by Player-controlled Kirby anyway, me playing solo means I only have to pick up the last piece of fragment when the enemy is flashing red. This will often finish the enemy up. If you're still killing the enemy too quickly while playing solo, you can use multiple joy-cons/controllers to "disable" your teammates.
Speaking of "disabling" teammates, you can use this method to more fairly test your score with different roles. Just make sure the same tier of gear is used for fair comparison.

As a mage main I recommend constantly using the cycle beam aka dash attack for getting tablets also for flying enemies use the neutral beam cause the top hit box deals the most damage

Perfect parrys( Invincible blocks ) in the game can freeze your shield gauge briefly, and prevents sustaining damage. (Stamina=HP ranking 4. T. mage,3. Dr. healmore, 2. swordsman, then 1. hammer lord)(for base HP)

    Tips:
--- Meteor Tablets (and Treasure Box) can drop Only The Latter half phase (After en-ranged motion).
it means, the first half phase, Hits-count doesn't matter. Don't use Weak-Multiple Hits at the point.
--- For Mage, Press ↑B to start charging Time-Beam instead of "B".
it prevents accidentally shoot regular fire at Online/input-laggy game.
--- Anytime , you can push a meteor-tablet to your HammerGuy, it helps the game.
--- if you find other SwordGuy/Healer who are on charging, But at terrible position.
Walk and Push him on to the Boss(or Teammate). it help his positioning.

Don't forget for Hammer Lord that even if the boss is throwing out enough attacks that you don't have time to get a good hammer flip, use dash attack and down attack to get invulnerable frames through many attacks, and Super Giant flip (aerial dash attack) is pretty good when you space/spam it well. But it depends on the boss.
Like Etce said for Healmore, try to keep everyone's health up, and just like every other class can charge during a boss' rage moment, take that time to put out a heal spell for everyone who needs it. If no one needs it, Science Lab and prepare to use it on the boss.
With Beam Mage, I want to say that if you're ever in a tough spot but are looking for an attack to i-frame through, I think dash attack has that. I think they also have a very small amount of i-frames when they are throwing their time beam, so be sure to throw it before you get it.
I don't have much to say for Sword Hero that hasn't already been said. I prefer to just get spin/twister slashes and use the shield to protect my team. I don't use the bounce attack cause I'd rather spin slash, but I sometimes use the projectile if I can't get too close to a boss at the time.

For the mage class be evasive/and space(keep your distance) as much as possible, when there's a agile boss. and space your distance as much as possible. (A.I don't usually have the best team synergy...) As the mage class you can come close and charge time beam, and do it at your own risk.(If the time meter is full multi-hit is best used.)

Heya, person who's played Zelda and Kirby here, SKC Sword Beam (Sky Energy Strike) is based off of Skyward Strike from Skyward Sword, and it was only in the 3DS games so far, whereas Sword Beam is in more games, and only works at full health, a reference to, well Sword Beams in Zelda, which only work at full health.

Know the boss. To beat fast and nimble bosses, use fast and nimble classes (Sword not Hammer for example). Also I don't know if this is optimal, but sometimes failing Science Lab is good for quick dps against grounded enemies so I sometimes use it when time is stopped.

Sometimes, the spin/twister slash can hit the strongest attack twice in one spin, making it a little stronger than hammer flip.

I think its a good idea to move around the boss by jumping nearly ontop of the boss and use hammer twirl before you fall on the boss and get hit. Useful if you get cornered by the enemy.

Im a main hammer, and the best adviece i can give is that you totally should use ground dash attack and down attack to avoid damage.
Those two attacks (the spin attack on ground and the attack where kirby spins his hammer under him) have a lot of invincible frames, they will do damage and protect you from damage, so its a win win, obviously you need to use them efficiently, but they are really worth. Plus, having full health will give you the extra damage bonus, and with the that, your damage skyrockets a lot. Almost 10k for free.
Also, dont spam the hammer flip, even if its that strong, its useless if you just are fishing for it and end up taking damage like crazy, the dash aerial attack its a good alternative to deal good dps if you cant find a way to charge your hammer flip.
