Jesus christ, this band remains criminally criminally underrated! This song hits you like a tidal wave. they tower over their peers (oasis, coldplay, et al.)
Cheers from the U.S. so glad to hear Doves about to release a new album! I friggin' LOVE their music, since I heard "Catch the Sun" on a CMJ compilation.
This was the year of the rain - of biblical proportions. It started raining at 4am on Friday morning and didn't stop until midday. During that time it was constant thunder and lightning. I think they said it was 2 weeks worth of rain in 8 hours. This set is late Friday afternoon and it was gloomy and very very muddy. Sun came out on Sunday though.
Doves were my personal highlight of Glastonbury this year - amongst plenty! A top band playing proper music. John Peel stage was perfect setting and size for the most underated band around.
Great tune - must be played here at double the album tempo but suits it. Then slows down in the chorus weirdly.... drummer never was like a click track though!!
It's strange, because they use a lot of samples in their live sound, so I always assumed they used a click track for that. Certainly in more recent shows you can sometimes get a glimpse of a laptop to Andy's side. Maybe in 2005 they didn't. Must say, apart from this recording, never noticed any glaring timing issues before from these.
they look like they were having a few technical difficulties in the first couple of minutes, Jimmy's sat at the drum kit and the drummer is having to use the front mic to get the harmonica across?

iLLPhil so true, fuck.
It was hazy but I was there! Love DOVES
Such a talented and atmospheric band.
heard this song on a promo, loved Doves since, not many bands can succeed as they did coming from a dance background in the 90`s, PURE CLASS....
My absolute favorite band....amazing live.
This is one of best bands around. Love what they do live and in studio
they are fucking different class man.
Smoke a j and listen to this.

I'm really late to the party. I'm 45 and just discovered this stuff. I love it. What a band!

Sublime Music!!!!
This song takes me to the solar system
the last great period of guitar rock
Looks like they were set to play Here It Comes and then technical issues meant they abandoned and went to Cedar Room.
so true,such an awesome song:)
probably the best band in the UK
amazing song!!!
That intro hits different.
wow,just wow

Quite possibly the best band ever to emerge from Manchester
Cant wait for hull .....
That red guitar will be mine
If they need motivation for the new album, they should read these comments on TH-cam, they'll get right up!
gutted i couldn't go
what happens to the drummer around 4:30??? does he take a valium or something? Slows right down!!!
I've always thought he had issues with his time keeping. Often plays too quickly. Was way to upbeat here.
@@Cookadoodledoo i think it works quite well with the faster tempo
SPIRITUAL INDEED!!!
The dogs nogads as far as I'm concerned
lol @3.50 Massive Song Name Fail!
uma pena eu ter nascido num pais q valoriza bundas...e nao musica de verdade como dessa banda!

Their timing was always all over the shop usually fast and then progressively slows down. But who cares still great
Glastonbury 2010... Comofas?
I don't remember saying
they look like they were having a few technical difficulties in the first couple of minutes, Jimmy's sat at the drum kit and the drummer is having to use the front mic to get the harmonica across?
Had to change the tune on the fly. It should have been Here It Comes
i assume your deaf?
"Doves Here it Comes" ???!?
Typical beeb! Hah!
To be fair, it did sound like they were gearing up to play Here it Comes and then they just seemed to abandon it and did Cedar Room instead :/
