You shouldn’t count background/foreground, it’s too complicated otherwise, the Mario player model must touch the blue, and it isn’t over when the blue is apart of the certain object.

Yeah, a lot of these objects either only have a tiny bit of blue that Mario never actually touches. Its better than the last one where he just kicked out a bunch of stuff from Mario touching the background/background objects or his own reflection, but still.
It could be a really interesting challenge if he didn't eliminate a bunch of games super early just for the sake of making the video stay short, it honestly comes off as clickbaity. He even flat out says it's not going to count background stuff and he still lost almost half the games in here due to touching background elements (counting the cursor in Galaxy is also kind of dumb and the way he knocked out Sunshine here was super fucking stupid, because by that logic everything should be insta-loss because Mario is wearing blue overalls.)
Robbie Haruna Yeah I haven’t watched Bandy in a while but this doesn’t remind me of his old content at all, unless the point was to be quick and sarcastic about it. It does seem clickbaity if that wasn’t the goal.
The flowers in the new super games count because you can spin jump to produce coins
2:45 The color for the bolt is actually transparency, so that blue is part of the background.
The bolt on the right side is clearly a different blue than the blue platform behind it.

A lot of times he failed because of a cutscene even though he didn't count the cut scene in new Super Mario Bros DS.
There's a difference of a video playing more than an ingame cutscene that is actually in Bathaniel's control of happening or not.

While you can interact with the flowers in NSMB Wii and U by Spin-Jumping over them, you can’t Spin-Jump in DS or 2, so the flowers are purely background elements in those!

OK so the funny thing with water in games. It's clear. So technically it is the background that's "blue". And irl, the sun just reflects off the water, and the light reflects more blue then any other color, which makes the cones in your eye sense it.

It seems you and I seriously disagree on what "interacting" with an object means. There were a lot of things in this video that I personally feel shouldn't have counted. Also, Mario didn't touch that lever at the end; Cappy did.

The rules should be if Mario can collide with it it would count. That means background and foregroud objects don't count. Also, it should only count if Mario touches the part that has blue on it, not if it has blue in it at all.

The RUUUUUUUUUUUUUULES...are not that simple...
1.Cursor/Cappy don’t count, Mario has to touch it.
2.Mario has to touch either a pixel colored blue or something that’s primarily colored blue.
3.Fludd counts as part of Mario’s clothes since you can’t remove it.
4.The flowers in the first NSMB don’t count since they aren’t interactable. In the other games they do count, since they spin if you do a spin jump near them
5. The flagpole in 3D World wouldn’t have counted since it was part of a cutscene.
Bonus:You touched blue in 3D Land on the world map, but since it was on the world map, it doesn’t count.
Shouldn’t have counted the blue bolt in Super Mario Bros 3

So rewarding this, I really wish he made dedicated videos for each game doing the challenge, it feels like he comes up with any excuse to fail the challenge just to make sure the video doesn't exceed 30 minutes and by then I'd rather watch him try to beat say Mario 3 without touching said color fully. Also I think he should only count objects that have a majority of it being the color he can't touch, and he has to be able to land on it or be stopped by it since foreground and background just again feels like an excuse to skip the game

As peach the flag once grabbed goes from bowser to a player icon and colour theme.
When peach grabs the flag it is pink with a crown icon that has her blue and red jewels on it.
Thats how i took it since the loss happened when peaches flag popped up on screen.

I feel like the flower in NSMB shouldnt have counted becuase it was in the backround and isnt interactble. And maybe also Lakitus camera becuase it wasnt really interactable, Mario went through it. And also the semi-solids in NSMBU at 10:48 were a very similar color to the ground in 3D Land but maybe not its hard to tell. (I'm writing and editing this as I watch)

I know early mario games did that sometimes cause of console restrictions and I thought it looked like they did it there (skybox blue bolts is otherwise an interesting choice)
I think you're a bit harsh on yourself. I think that it should only count if the object you touch is mainly the colour you are trying to avoid

Did anyone ever tell Bathaniel that he could use a Game Boy Colour to play SML 1 & 2 with colour?
The challenge should be if the character model touches the colour, so cursors touching things shouldn’t count and peaches darn earrings definitely don’t count! (Cappy counts tho) The underground looks grey, the camera lens is clear, Flood shouldn’t count, Super Mario Galaxy crystals are clear.
At 10:33 he did not touch the blue flower. If you look at the section in slow-mo you see him jump right before

I love these! But a suggestion for if you do something like this again, maybe use the game boy color versions of the land games?
In SMG2, Nandy was NOT in control of Mario. If the player is unable to control where they are going, this should NOT count. It's pretty much a cutscene.
At 10:31, that semisolid is partly blue-gray. This should count.
At 10:32, If you look at it frame-by-frame, it COULD be argued that Nandy touched blue, as Mario's arm BARELY scraped the edge of that flower.
At 12:33, Mario DID NOT touch that blue lever. Cappy did.
The most dangerous power up in this whole thing is in NSMB DS and it’s the Blue Shell
Can you please make each of "these don't this certain color" into an actual challenge? It would be fun to see you try to find out which levels can and can not be beaten without touching a certain color
It would be cool to see you attempt some of the games for longer, maybe give games like Mario 3 or 64 its own video. It would be interesting to see how far you can get (or even beat some of them) until it becomes actually impossible to beat it (like when you got to an underground stage in SMB)
Dude, Those Are The Same Tiles In The Underground Section Of The Games Are Just The Same Tiles As The Ground Tiles So U Do Not Fail Cause It Is Dark In There For The Ground Theme For Smb1 And SmbTLL.

Once again, use the Full Color Mods for Mario Land 1 & 2, and don’t count the Wii Remote Cursor touching anything into Galaxy 1 & 2. I’ve said this on the Red & Green videos.
