For me it’s symphony x. Been nearly a decade since their last release. Saw them live in may and they announced they were currently in the studio and the new album would come soon but we’ll see, they’ve teased it for years
Definitely looking forward to the new Anthrax album. I liked the John Bush era but so impressed with the 2nd Belladonna era albums too. His vocals have really improved over the years.
Joey's voice is still going strong! They really seemed to be on a roll with Worship Music and For All Kings before the huge gap in between records... I hope they're able to capture that again.
I agree, I really hope Maiden releases Nicko's final show on cd AND Bluray. Also, Bruce Dickinson has stated that his Mandrake Project solo show in Brazil(?) was recorded for a live album. I flew from the U.S. to the U.K. for his Glasgow and Manchester shows, and they were amazing! As for shot in the dark wishes, Wendy Dio has said (about 10 years ago) that she's planning to release the Hear n Aid album and the documentary on Bluray. Maybe this will be the year. Cheers Johnny, and happy 2025!
Cheers and happy new year! I didn't know Bruce was planning a live album... very cool! I hope he announces some solo dates in the US at some point. I'd love to see Hear N' Aid finally get issued... maybe with the proceeds going to the Stand Up And Shout Cancer Fund.
On vinyl : Manilla Road - Mystification, Helheim- RigniR, Bolt Thrower - 4th Crusade, Einherjer- Blot, Motörhead- Orgasmatron On Cd: some Voivod, some Nuclear Assault, some Doro, some Thin Lizzy and 🤔 some Skyforger… As far as new albums, just waiting for the new Helheim. Oh, and some more Winterfylleth. That’s a good start I suppose. I use to have both those Acid Bath albums. When The Kite Strings Pop I’ve owned twice on cd. Don’t have either of them anymore. Thanks for the video Johnny Z, you have some great taste young Man! Black Sabbath, Kiss, Anthrax, Wasp! Cheers ☕️
Great news about the Acid Bath reunion. Hopefully we get shows and maybe even a tour. I saw in an interview with Sammy that even if they do come up with new material for a new release it won't be under the Acid Bath name. As much as I'd love a new album I respect that. I'm also looking forward to new releases from Sacrifice and Coroner. Anthrax would be great. Seems like ages since their last album For All KIngs. Love Born Again the way it is but if Tony Iommi puts out a remix I'll check it out.
Totally understand why Acid Bath might not want to release more music under that name... it's great to see them playing together again. Fingers crossed that new Coroner arrives this year as well. Hopefully a Sabbath Born Again reissue would include some live stuff too.
Anthrax needs to wake up and release. They sounded great on tour this year and there’s no reason to waste time while Joey still had his voice. Also an acid bath album would be amazing
@ I’m hoping touring with testament and kreator reminded them that other thrash legends still put out albums regularly that are often just as great as the classics. We’ll see I guess
I believe that Steve Harris said that he wanted a live recording/video since they didn’t do one for Somewhere in Time. And yes, Nicko’s last show would be amazing as would footage from a variety of shows. 🤘🏼
I didn’t know Steve said that… very cool! This was a great tour, I’d love to have live recordings of tracks like Alexander The Great, Hell On Earth, Stranger In A Strange Land and more! 🤘
@ it’s really hard to find high quality recordings from that tour too. It’s possible a live album from that tour with the addition of Somewhere In Time stuff could’ve given Live After Death a run for its money back then.
Anthrax has been kicking the can down the road, slowly but surely, as they're not doing quick & write albums like days gone by. They 'have families & commitments' now. But it kinda irks me that after 8 years of nothing from them they're worried about which nine or ten tracks will actually make it to their new album. EIGHT years. How about they throw every track on the new album? One release, big as can be. Been so long & they would further legitimize an eight year absence.
I agree. I think a lot of these bands don’t have the urgency to release stuff because they’ve reached a ceiling in terms of sales and charts, and can probably achieve the same thing by just putting out a reissue or a boxset.
Hey CD Guy,,, can't wait till the new Ace frehley origins vol 3 CD. And being a KISS fan would love to see a DVD or Blu-ray and CD release of their last concert at MSG , what are they waiting for?????
people talk about Slipknot's Look Outside Your Window a ton, but I'm surprised no one mentions that there's eight songs recorded that didn't made onto We Are Not Your Kind, I wanna hear those as well. anyway my list: 1.) Slipknot - 8th album (Look Outside Your Window or new album) 2.) Disturbed - 9th album 3.) Possessed - 4th album 4.) Dark Angel - 5th album 5.) Vreid - 10th album 6.) Sabaton - 11th album 7.) Savatage - 12th album Curtain Call 8.) Blind Guardian - 13th album 9.) Testament - 14th album 10.) W.A.S.P. - 16th album 11.) Helloween - 17th album 12.) Megadeth - 17th album
I am super hoping that the rumor about a new Sacrifice album is true. They did release a new song on spotify like 2 weeks ago so maybe. They were always my favorite of the canadian thrash bands and Razor.
THE BOMB FOR THE COMING YEAR IS THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF JEFF LOOMIS THAT NEVERMORE WILL BE FORMED AGAIN WITH A NEW VOCALIST. I HOPE THAT IN 2025 THEY WILL RELEASE A BRAND NEW ALBUM.
Definitely not too late as long as all four guys are still alive and willing to do it. Bill Ward must be involved tho… the way they treated him for 13 and the final tour was terrible.
1. Dark Angel - This one makes me angry for how long it has been teased. For 10 years now, I have seen that there will be a new album. WHEN?? 2. Anthrax - I'll believe it when I see it. Scott has been teasing this album since 2021. I think they have surpassed Metallica for taking too long to release an album. It better be amazing for how long it's taking 3. Helloween 4. Testament 5. Exodus 6. Annihilator 7. Nuclear Assault - a bit far fetched, but I'm allowed to dream 8. Death Angel 9. Vinnie Vincent - a bit outside the box, but Vinnie has a lot of demos and unreleased songs that are great and should be properly mixed and released
The new Dark Angel has taken so long I nearly forgot all about it lol. I’d love to see it in 2025. That Vinnie Vincent album is probably never going to happen… Vinnie’s super talented, but can’t seem to work with anybody these days. No doubt Vinnie has a vault of great stuff that should be released.
I’d love a new Slayer album! Not sure how I’d feel about the current lineup of Pantera releasing new music under the Pantera name unless they had unused riffs from Dime left in the vault.
Oh man these guys are awesome! Just listened to The Day Of Wrath… what a killer, thrashy record! Can’t believe I never heard of this band until now. Thanks so much for the recommendation, I’m gonna keep listening! 🤘
Im done with Megadeth, Exodus, and Testament. I havent enjoyed the last 2 albums of any of those bands. Im not saying theyre bad, I'd just rather listen to their early albums. Plus i dont like the modern production on their new albums. I just think its time for a lot of those 80s bands to retire. I wouldnt want a new Slayer. Repentless was mediocre, and you're never going to get anything but more of the same from Kerry. And I dont need 21 albums of the same thing from Overkill. Anthrax's discography is smaller, more varied, and theyve kept it fresh, so I'd like to see Anthrax do one more album. If Iron Maiden never release another album I'm fine, but if they do keep it concise. Have a couple longer tracks, but more shorter, catchy tracks. No more bloated, boring albums
It’s hard for a lot of those 80s metal acts to recapture the feeling of the classics. I know exactly what you’re talking about. For example, I think Blackie Lawless is setting himself up to be let down when he says the new WASP stuff has to be on the same level as the classic material. I really like the newer proggy Maiden stuff, I think the one biggest change I would make on a hypothetical new album is a new producer.
@TheCDGuyJZ Maiden and Metallica both need new producers. When a band uses the same producer for too long they get too comfortable with each other. I have a ton of CDs and the issue I'm feeling is don't have time to listen to them all, especially when I go back to classic metal and death metal the most. 80s thrash is part of my DNA, and I keep buying the albums but rarely listening to them. I just feel I'd rather discover some other bands then keep buying albums from bands that don't know when to stop and I have enough of their albums already
@@Gregbaltzer I need to take a break and listen to what I already have too. I’d love to see Maiden work with Andy Sneap… that could be really interesting and he does great work with Judas Priest. Roy Z would be a cool option for Maiden too… he did a great job producing Bruce’s latest solo album.
Ok so 2025 50 years of Iron Maiden we need something special. Reissue of the Ten Years box set on CD and vinyl. Then a box set of live recordings from every tour from Piece of Mind to the present. I’m talking 20 disc box set of live recordings.
I shudder to think of how much that would cost, but that would be amazing! I’m sure they have an entire vault full of unreleased live gems… it’d be great to have some live stuff from Somewhere In Time, the Blaze era and the AMOLAD tour.
Their new tour is called "Because What You Want & What You Get Are Two Completely Different Things," so I definitely think they are trolling at this point. I don't think they have any intention of making a proper new album any time soon.
What are some Rock & Metal albums YOU want to see in 2025? Let me know down below!
King Diamond. He just dropped a new single right before Christmas and this came one month after I saw him in concert.
Yes! Hopefully 2025 is the year for The Institute. We’re bordering on Chinese Democracy territory here with his new album.
We got the full length LA Guns album coming next year!
Would love too see some new Acid Bath and Slipknot.
For sure! Acid Bath is a long shot, but I really hope they start making new music to go with these reunion shows.
A new Testament will be sick!! Anthrax would be cool. Cheers JZ
Cheers man! Hopefully 2025 is a strong year for new Thrash.
For me it’s symphony x. Been nearly a decade since their last release. Saw them live in may and they announced they were currently in the studio and the new album would come soon but we’ll see, they’ve teased it for years
That’s a great one! Last I read, Michael Romeo said he has hours of material. We’ll see what happens I guess.
@@TheCDGuyJZ that’s great. For me all their albums are great even the debut so at least it should be worth it whenever they finally do it
Definitely looking forward to the new Anthrax album.
@ 💯 agree 👍🏼
Testament,Helloween,Anthrax and Wasp would be great adding to the lineup of new music in 2025.
For sure! 💯

Full length album from Final Resting Place
That would be killer after Prelude To Extinction 🤘

@ it’s really hard to find high quality recordings from that tour too. It’s possible a live album from that tour with the addition of Somewhere In Time stuff could’ve given Live After Death a run for its money back then.
Their manager, Rod Smallwood, said the same thing. He regrets not doing one.
