Hello Grzegorz and all the "clickers" - this Tango sounds absolutely lovely - with the lyrics so simple - yet universal. Andrzej Wlast left a great legacy of magnificent Tango lyrics - notwithstanding his shallow critics - who I'm sure couldn't even dream of coming up of anything close to Wlast's - mastery. Of course - the music by Gold is a Tango treasure with that typical Tango "grapevine" motive so excellent for dancing. One could listen to it - forever. Your visuals - super evocative - which transport us to Warsaw - circa 1930 - 39. At any rate - hope you and all the clickers are having a great holiday season. It has wet around here - in my hilly turf - close to New York City. Tomorrow - some snow flakes - much expected!
+tango3721 Hi Lana, oh I love that term, a "grapevine motive"! What a poetic language - it's so much tango-like. I love all compositions by Artur Gold, there's some kind of a unique spirit of solitude in him. He's perfect for these late autumn gloomy evenings - just like the ones we are having now in Poland. It's already dark in the town when I'm driving back home from my office. I bought a new car - a nice Italian carozza well designed for the south European climate - and I was not watchful enough to see, it lacks the back window wipers and side mirrors are not heated. Ofcourse, these are stupid little details, yet so irritating when I begin my daily driving through the foggy and wet mornings. I'm getting older thus more and more demanding in all aspects of life. Spring, come! :-(((
I'm familiar with this wonderful A. Gold's song. Superb, affecting orchestration and singing. The photos of the pre-war Warsaw always elicit admiration for the city's beauty and vitality, and sorrow for its destruction during the war.
+dzheger two I could expext you'd be able to recognize each even the smallest piece composed by that genius! :-) ! What a pity, your screenplay about Artur Gold was never turned into a movie. What a story it would be! And - just imagine, all these tunes like this tango or many other, we are listening to in this channell - collected and composed into one soundtrack and played by some fabulous today's stylish orchestra, like Pasadena Roof Orchestra or such kind of a band!
