Man this music was nostalgic for important boss battles in 11 it used to add so much to the fights and the anticipation of walking up to them after prepping your buffs going over a quick get ready guys im pulling in vent or team speak lol
I never played FFXI, but Kumi Tanioka's style is IMMEDIATELY noticeable in a number of tracks from this raid. I'm glad some of her music and her style finally got to shine in XIV!
This music is iconic to FFXI just like Torn From the Heavens is to FFXIV, I played FFXI for almost 10 yrs this fight brought back so many memories for me.
"Final Boss Theme" ... Its actually two songs, but eh. The song is from Dynamis - Xarcabard Diabolos is the Avatar of dreams and nightmares, wielding control over the subconscious and alternate realities. He created Dynamis as an otherworldly plane where memories and emotions could manifest. Dynamis was intended to be a sanctuary-a timeless place where the souls of the departed or forgotten could exist in peace. It was a realm where memories and dreams shaped the environment, free from the chaos and strife of the waking world. The rise of the Shadow Lord and his immense despair and hatred left a powerful imprint on the world. This negativity seeped into Dynamis, corrupting the realm. Dynamis became a twisted reflection of Vana’diel, dominated by dark forces and conflict. As Dynamis became corrupted, it no longer served as a peaceful refuge but instead turned into a place where the darkest aspects of Vana’diel’s history replayed endlessly. These echoes of despair and war consumed its purpose and gave rise to the challenges players face in the Dynamis zones. In FF14... it's an "Energy", but I think the energy is actually the Dark Divinity that empowers Shadow Lord and gave him form... Which SPOILERS Meteion, when feeling this intense, HATEFUL, emotion... was probably linking to the Dark Divinity. ... which means.. ....We ain't seen the last of Shadow Lord. Not a bit.
Edit: To be clear, I do want more of this This 24 man alliance really amped up the difficulty. The final boss 2nd phase is honestly a bit too much like a low ex. I enjoyed it but I can see it being annoying for roulette. This is my favorite in terms of difficulty and fun, but that can change once I inevitably get this in alliance raids... Edit: Already had an alliance raid that I joined that was close to locking out lol (had 18 mins left, finished with 10 mins remaining) Like it has rubicante/elidibus line spread out mech, Azeyma knockback, Hippokampus arena thing, Halone, etc.
Definitely not even extreme trial level of difficulty, but yes, it is for sure harder than nier and twelve. Very coll bosses this time, enjoyed it a lot. Dungeon bosses were great too. Except the 2nd one with "random bullshit go" mechanic
It's just the sword slashes man, I can't get a good read on them. I know what it does, what to do, but I cannot read it, I have to stand dead center and move on reaction most of the time. I dislike the poor readbility of some cues in recent content.
Probably only gonna be kinda challenging for short while until all the new mechanics clicks for everyone then it's gonna be a breeze. Then it's gonna become kinda challenging again when you get it in the rulette a year or two after DT ends when everyone has forgotten all the mechanics.
Yea def miss the bulk of the content drops and come back when 8.0 drops so youll be in the exact same position your in now, beginning of xpansion befor anything comes out. When the first patch of 8.0 drops i want you to leave another comment sayin youll come back 9.0...cool?

This raid was unreal for me as a FFXI native, seeing long lost areas and bosses I haven't seen in so many years 😢
I envy those who’ve played ff11 before, I’d love to experience all the nostalgia of doing this raid
enjoy what we have now...cause one day when the next FF Online comes out; we'll definitely get a whole lot of FFXIV Nostalgia ^_^
As someone who played FFXI for over 10 years this legit has me nerding out, holy shit.
It says something that I haven't ever played XI, but I still know this music and still got hyped as hell when I heard it kick in.

We used to zerg him down with Krakan clubs and several Dark Knight's using Blood Weapon xD Dynamis was allways fun!!
