Fun fact: PLD, WHM, and BLM still use the generic role based LBs that were the initial system in ARR. That’s why they’re pretty plain (Pally is just a wall, well, that’s what the Tank role LB just was). Even more funny is since Bard was the only Phys. Range job, it used the healer LB since OG Bards were designed as the support job and their songs were mostly for MP and TP regeneration.
Pld for sure needs an updated LB3. It's so sad looking. I think Sch & Smn might also need a bit updating too bc they loose their unique-ness. Sch can summon seraph at will and can turn into a seraph/angel now so there's no novelty in Angel Feathers. Where as Smn can literally summon 2 Bahamuts so Megaflare is kinda "Meh-gaflare"
I feel paladin's LB worked back when shelltron didn't have an upgrade because it was basically mega shelltron, but now holy shelltron looks more impressive animation wise than the lb, which is weird
It's basically the Great Gospel. I like that they add stuff from older Final Fantasys. We've got Satellite Beam, Galaxy Stop, Final Heaven, and others im sure I'm missing
WHM, SCH, BLM and SMN feels too basic, while PLD and WAR are kinda strange given the lb is an AOE ability but the animation is just a wall, IMO these 6 are the ones that need an uptdated lb the most.
Fr. PLD and WAR seem way too basic compared to their peers. WHM desperately needs one along with SMN. The others im relatively okay with. SCH is cute and imo doesn't absolutely need one but I can totally see why people don't like it.
MCH is underwhelming. SMN doesn't feel powerful. PLD and DRK seem outdated with the jobs direction. VRP, though is new, felt underwhelming. DRG animation is good but the blue dragon needs some updating. I have no idea what SGE is doing, feel like the animation doesn't fit the job, the entire thing should be all blueish yet it is all gold. My 2 cents.

Yeah, at this point I kinda expected being able to SEE my WoL’s face - or whoever dropped the LV3 - during the animation, kinda like Tales of Berseria and Arise did it during special attacks. They could use the same character “boxes” seen in some dialogues (introduced in EW) with the WoL? IDK. Most of the time I hardly notice the animations anyway during the fights because the screen goes black and “DUTY COMPLETE” automatically appears with the loot and commendation window lol
Everyone should get a LB I I mean what’s the harm in having 2 do’s LBs it’s only slightly more dps the healer gets there’s and the tank actually gets to use LB

The fact that Tank limit breaks are NEVER useful outside of a random mechanic they'll throw into a savage raid once every few years is lame. I wish it did something else besides just +Defense, like casting a party-wide Reflect spell that bounced the damage dealt by a raidwide attack back at the boss.
It's pretty damn vital when it does come up, though, and limit breaks should be impactful every time. Fewer people competing for a shared resource across a party is a good thing, too.

Often the dps either just forgot to use it in that scenario or is worried people will be annoyed at them for using it too soon, so you asking them to use it doubles as a reminder and permission. Main tank leads, so don't be afraid to be a leader.
Unironically, paladin has the perfect visual skill for the LB3 in the game already, Passage of Arms looks amazing and perfectly communicates the "I'm going to protect everyone" energy that it should

The circle is the placement, you can move it around to make sure it’s under the enemies. Once you’re happy it’s in the right place press X on PlayStation or A I think on Xbox to trigger it

The black mage animation is so underwhelming. You see this big ass meteor falling, and then the explosion strats before it toughed the ground, the rock disappears and smaller rocks appear in its place, the transition is so bad.
I think for all the mage classes Pictos is the weakest by far and that's saying a lot seeing as black mages is just "big rock, but from outer space" and vipers lacks any sort of impact
Monk’s is so damn good while Sam’s is so plain. The ending of Sam’s is great with the sheath though. But the two jobs should be flipped. Sam should have a charge and one quick strike because that’s how the class is while monk should be a flurry of attacks.
IMO Sage's looks so ugly. The texture quality is so low it looks like its out of a PS1 game. I mean just compare Sage's to GNB or AST, the difference is huge.

Whm could nuke the boss. Scholar could summon a giga fairy for 15 secs. Sage could put Kardia on everyone. All of these little ideas could be dropped onto the existing lbs to make them more exciting and actually feel diverse and individualized. I came up with these while typing this message. Square can easily do something to make this game fresh but are just too damn scared

It's not a hard rule that Melee are the only people supposed to use LB3, just common practice. If melees aren't using it, then Ranged and Casters have fair game to use it. Can't tell ya how many times Melees don't use it when the boss is almost dead, it's almost wasted, and so as a Caster main, I fire it off. Same with not having a melee in the party. It's free real estate for Ranged and Casters. As the Tank LB3, it's a massive shield/damage mitigation. There's several ultimate attacks used by Trial bosses and even Raids that need that Tank LB3 to even survive the attack. Otherwise, it wipes your whole party, and you have to start the fight all over again.
1: You might not have a melee 2: Melee might be dead 3: Limit Breaks aren't exclusively for bosses 4: Adds are a thing during boss fights, and its beneficial to nuke all the adds at once in a big attack over wasting the ult on a single target 5: In normal difficulty content 90% of the time the boss dies without a limit break going off at all so anyone can use their limit if its free 6: Tank LB makes the party invincible for a time, there are a handful of "party will wipe if tank doesn't LB" mechanics in the game, and I've seen tanks use the LB to prevent a wipe in situations where the party has a lot of vuln stacks and their HP is low and a party wide AOE is incoming. It gave the healers time to get everyone healed up in time.
You should be using ranged lb on mob pulls after the first boss or when you get lb1 The damage from hitting multiple mobs does more damage than 1 melee lb
I only agree with Astro, dancer and dragoon. The rest are meh. For example, paladin could have easily summoned a giant with giant shield to defend the entire area, war shouldn't be wall or whatever that was but use his axe put energy into it make it massive and block incoming dmg. Gunbreaker is actually decent. Whm shouldn't be whatever that shit was, but summon a tree then drop the living water onto players and revive them... sage was okay but makes 0 sense as they didn't have any tree but could have been crystallise instead of glowing golden tree with streams, don't get me started on ninja... could have done a proper job by doing shadow clone jutsu with thousands of shadow clones attacking the target. Oh and BLM was actually okay so keep that I guess but redo the graphic. Red mage makes 0 sense, it uses both sword and magic so why don't they implement on that I wonder... reaper would be cooler if you get to summon a massive reaper and cleave the target. Scholar is okay but could have been like books animation or put your energy into your pet make it big and revive everyone. Samurai was the most boring one. Instead of having slices then sheath the sword could be sheathed the sword then chaos ensues but whatever. Machinist was meh boring. Viper was okay picto was actually a let down... could have summoned all the muse and attack but I guess they didn't think of that. Dk was okay could be better interms of shadow realm and shit. Monk was not bad but since saitama came out I think they could have used the same animation effect and rework it. Bard makes sense but make better graphic and it would have been good All in all, astro, blm, dancer and gun were good. The rest need rework big big time. Its 2024.

As the Tank LB3, it's a massive shield/damage mitigation. There's several ultimate attacks used by Trial bosses and even Raids that need that Tank LB3 to even survive the attack. Otherwise, it wipes your whole party, and you have to start the fight all over again.
1: You might not have a melee
2: Melee might be dead
3: Limit Breaks aren't exclusively for bosses
4: Adds are a thing during boss fights, and its beneficial to nuke all the adds at once in a big attack over wasting the ult on a single target
5: In normal difficulty content 90% of the time the boss dies without a limit break going off at all so anyone can use their limit if its free
6: Tank LB makes the party invincible for a time, there are a handful of "party will wipe if tank doesn't LB" mechanics in the game, and I've seen tanks use the LB to prevent a wipe in situations where the party has a lot of vuln stacks and their HP is low and a party wide AOE is incoming. It gave the healers time to get everyone healed up in time.
@@TheDarkFable Tank LB3 does not make the party invincible. It's a 80% damage reduction, but you can still be killed during the effect.
You should be using ranged lb on mob pulls after the first boss or when you get lb1
The damage from hitting multiple mobs does more damage than 1 melee lb
I only agree with Astro, dancer and dragoon. The rest are meh.
For example, paladin could have easily summoned a giant with giant shield to defend the entire area, war shouldn't be wall or whatever that was but use his axe put energy into it make it massive and block incoming dmg. Gunbreaker is actually decent. Whm shouldn't be whatever that shit was, but summon a tree then drop the living water onto players and revive them... sage was okay but makes 0 sense as they didn't have any tree but could have been crystallise instead of glowing golden tree with streams, don't get me started on ninja... could have done a proper job by doing shadow clone jutsu with thousands of shadow clones attacking the target. Oh and BLM was actually okay so keep that I guess but redo the graphic. Red mage makes 0 sense, it uses both sword and magic so why don't they implement on that I wonder... reaper would be cooler if you get to summon a massive reaper and cleave the target. Scholar is okay but could have been like books animation or put your energy into your pet make it big and revive everyone. Samurai was the most boring one. Instead of having slices then sheath the sword could be sheathed the sword then chaos ensues but whatever. Machinist was meh boring. Viper was okay picto was actually a let down... could have summoned all the muse and attack but I guess they didn't think of that. Dk was okay could be better interms of shadow realm and shit. Monk was not bad but since saitama came out I think they could have used the same animation effect and rework it. Bard makes sense but make better graphic and it would have been good
All in all, astro, blm, dancer and gun were good. The rest need rework big big time. Its 2024.
