I grew up in and around fire departments. I can assure you that periodic maintenance performed on any fire department truck occurs at more frequent and rigorous intervals than what consumers normally do. They don’t accumulate as much mileage, but the service is performed on schedule regardless if it needs it or not. So that’s another pro to buying a used fire truck.
That sliding tray on the small fire truck was probably for the generator. Saw one on waybeforethefame channel. Wish we had a place in Oklahoma like that to go shop at!!!!
Thank you guys so much for stopping by! We always love showing off our vehicles to enthusiasts like yourselves. BTW, that rack in the rear end is for a water pump and made to drop it off near a water source.
We have two Mazda Bongo diesel fire truck RWD and 4WD and two MAzda Proceed Levante same diesel but turbo RF 2000cc great engine !!! super reliable !!!!
That truck is sweet! I used to have an electric smart car and wanted to dress it out to look like a hearse for short people :-) Awesome to see Stacee rocking the pit vipers
Ha ha Pit Viper sent us a bunch of sunglasses at work awhile ago and Stacy found them in the glovebox on the way to Portland, she had them on for the whole trip! 😂
The slide-out tray will be for a high pressure water pump or a hydraulic power pack. We have an old Dennis UK fire engine. Its main pump for the flat hoses runs off a PTO but there's a smaller 2" pump on a slide-out on one side ....other side would have had a hydraulic pump for powering 'jaws of life', etc. (has since been removed on ours) The big high-volume PTO pump is for filling the tank, pulling water from a hydrant, etc. the smaller high pressure pump is connected to the small reel hoses on either side.
walkermovements.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/1634122354-L892-MWB-009-scaled.jpg ...pump would normally sit in the forward compartment on the slideout.
Its a cool van. I have some footage of a friends Bongo pop top in some other videos on my channel. I will try to post a link to that. th-cam.com/video/nx2X9q6lg6g/w-d-xo.htmlsi=0AVNl9B4OKgltn9r
Man hearing that R2 idle reminds me of my old truck mazda b2200 crew cab came with it brandnew here in Philippines bought mine with 150k km on it sadly the original engine had rod knock cause of low oil pressure then bought another japan surplus R2 again use it for 5 years without a single issue sold it to my brother in law and used it for 5 years and that's when i knew it that R2 has a cast iron block with aluminum cylinder heads because my brother in law had an overheat and the head crack after that we bought japan surplus engine that time i did my research then me and him bought a WL that came in b2500 that has cast iron cylinder much more robust than R2 and till now he still used it the truck is in the family for 15 years. Now i have a b2200 long bed u.s version truck that i used in my shop to haul some parts it's got a dropside body and 4ja1-T engine when i bought it. Please excuse my english and grammar sir cause english is not my first language.
The B series trucks are cool! I wish we would have gotten a drop side version here in the U.S. because that makes the bed so much more practical. Thanks for watching!
The Bongo Friendee was available in Ford flavour in Japan as the Freda. Ford and Mazda often worked together and it was an easy way to get have a vehicle localised to Japanese customers. Edit: spelling
They were awesome trucks! I always enjoy driving all of the different imports, so many cool machines and each one has a different character. Stacy is still on the search for a bay blue Acty Attack or the right van. Half of the fun is the search 👍
I'd like to get myself a MAZDA Bongo Dump that has the "Dually Rear End" because these had a 4-cylinder engine. I hope that one of these would be better for Highway Speeds of 65-75MPH... Too bad HONDA never manufactured a Dually Rear Axle KEI Truck. I prefer the "weight distribution" of the HONDA and SUBARU, but I trust the reliability of the HONDA better! Does TOYOTA offer a decent KEI Truck?
Hi, the Daihatsu is part of Toyota so the Hijet is essentially a Toyota and a very nice Kei truck. The Climber model also has a locking rear differential. The Toyota Hiace, Toyoace and Dyna are larger than a Kei truck but are excellent as well and I’ve seen many with a dually setup and diesel 👌
The condition of the fire trucks is impressive. I walked around a few at the jdm lot up on Aurora (Seattle) and they seemed like a pretty cheap way to get your hands on a truck vs. going to carmax and spending a fortune.
Hello, great video. Does stacy have a single sister? I'm single and probably looks wise, on a scale of 1-10 I'm a high 3.9. And personality, probably a 4. I do occasionally dress to the sevens, you know for like a funeral or what not. I can type 5-8 words a minute and can staple and make copies. I enjoy scrimshaw and puppies. Oh yeah, and I can do the moonwalk and the worm
Ha ha sounds like you and I are on a similar level but my moonwalk skills have been weak since the 80’s so you’ve got me there! Stacy doesn’t have a sister but she does have a few cute friends 😂

These fire truck’s were definitely kept up and maintained really well, they were like time capsule’s! 👌

Thanks! I bet you are right about that generator, the tray seems like a perfect spot for one.

Watching your videos on these mini trucks makes me want to add one of these to my fleet. Thank you for sharing!
Always room for 1 more! 👍

Rad video! Thanks for the walk through on these. Cheers
Cheers Al!
Pretty cool trucks, really clean.
Thanks for sharing 😊👍
Thanks man!
Moto’s and coffee’s in the morning ☕️
The bed slide is for a pump.. you could put suction hose in a pond or stream then discharge feed a bigger pumper truck.
A pump! That would have been pretty handy if they had left it in there. 👍

That 4x4 Mazda is AWESOME!!! Van life definitely!!!
It was a rad van!
I would have liked to see more of that Mazda Bongo Friendee with the tent on top.

Thanks man! I knew there was a connection but didn’t know it was the Ford Freda. A friend of mine has a Friendee and it’s a cool little van!
I like the 4 dr pickup and the van takes the win for me.
Yeah, they are pretty awesome! The cab on the 4 door was great, the perfect amount of space.
Just import one dude!! i got my dias in mid febuary and it delivered a month later and it was only 2 grand plus the condition is amazing
Yeah importing is a great way to go. I’m hoping some of the auction prices mellow out soon. Congratulations on the Dias, they are awesome!
@@OlympicOverland in your brothers vid you discussed getting a van i support it 100%

What if a rod by any chance shot out the block would that impale the passenger or driver sitting on top of the motor 🫣😂
Probably similar odds to being struck by lightning but anything is possible ha ha! 😂
On my 97 Mitsubishi, I was able to translate some of the JDM labels using Google Translate. Point the camera, watch the magic...
I had a translate app that would come up with some really random and hilarious translations ha ha! I will give google translate a try next 👍
You guys are having too much fun! So did she get one?!
She decided to wait, still looking for a bay blue Acty Attack or Kei van but I wouldn’t mind a 4 door Hiace 4x4 👍
Enjoy your videos ❤
