Absolutely wonderful vehicles. I used to love driving back home in London. It’s great to start seeing these vehicles get more popular on the streets of towns across America now. Such great fuel savers, and versatile. So many different styles too. Great videos mate.
Awesome little vehicle!! I never knew they existed. When looking into the, supposedly, low prices Toyota economy pick up I noticed that not only Honda but Suzuki makes one as well. I have seen a few small Mitsubishi trucks over the years and have been intrigued by them as well. All that being said I've been a collision repair specialist for 30 years so I can see some modifications being done to one of these in my future. I'm thinking a 4X4 with an engine from a Prelude...... Oh yeah! Mount some 31x10.50's!! Double shocks, I'd guess about a 7" lift or so.... Providing all of the necessary reinforcements are made I don't see cruising the highway at 75 plus mph bring any problem at all. This is going to be fun!

Bought my 95 Honda Acty sdx 4x4 Dec.2021 and love driving it on 2 secondary roads around town 99.5 percent driving! Recommend changing stock shifter to Billard pool 🎱 ball shifter M10 1.50 pitch off E-Bay $22.35 for superior non missed gears and wow factor! 👌
Good video. I gor one at Auction few months ago. Luv it. Gets about 50mpg when not on highway. Spent 1hr on highway at 65mph and mileage dipped into the upper 30's I find it comfortable, you sit proper in it, have no choice. I have back and hip issues from early years of motocross, & my back and hip have not bothered me yet. Even being in the seat for 3hrs compared to some of my other rides. Im 6'2" 220 and is comfortable Have a van comming latter this summer, will be my rolling tool box. Thanks for opinion vid

Great video. Awesome info for kei truck aspirants and great positive energy. 45 MPG. Most kei truck owners say that's BS. I get 31 MPG with my 1996 4WD Hijet. 45 MPG would be a significant reason to get the Honda Acty. I look forward to 25 year old kei trucks having fuel injection and electronic ignition. I've been daily driving my Hijet for half a year and I love it. It's apparently the only kei vehicle in my town of 330,000 people and based on the responses I get, everyone else loves it too. I can't justify it but I'd love to get a 4wd kei van.
Honda and the rest of the KEA truck manufacturers are making a big mistake in not bringing a American version to the United States! Including mini vans TORA TORA TORA ! 🇯🇵🇺🇸
@@keithhooper6123 That's entirely possible, that's a different engine with less displacement. The HA4 Acty gets mid 30s at best. If you're running extremely lean or have the idle set too low you could get better MPG but you're going to damage the engine over time.

i was a dedicated part of the west coast mini truckin scene for a number of years and went to a number of big shows, and i flat out do not remember seeing these before. now a guy down the road has one for sale for 7500 and it caught my eye; as the former owner of a pair of b1600 mazdas, i am a big fan/proponent of 40mpg trucks.
Bought my Honda 1995 SDX 4x4 5 speed acty Dec.2022 . And other than very minor issues have been very happy with it ! It is driven for what it was intended for around town and secondary 35mph to 50mph roads which is 95 percent of my driving! People ask alot of questions and all that ask want one! Honda should make a American version here in one of their plants, they would sell !

These are great little rigs. Really what they are is a poor man’s side by side. But there is one other downside to driving them down a highway at 55mph. In a front end collision, * you * are the crumple zone. There is nothing between you and a potential head-on or if you rear end somebody. Nothing but a little piece of sheet metal and glass that is a few inches from your knees. The 660cc engine is under a panel in the bed of the truck. But hey, for their intended purpose of light hauling, farm use or around town moving stuff or just for fun building for a little off roading, sure beats $15-20k for a UTV/SxS.

Just make sure you have the transfer title and the translated japanese title too.When you import you can have your broker make sure all those are in order... i do have a freebie on tik tok , can't remember if it has everything on the process... but may have a few other points.

Great video Jeff. There is a dealer in my state who imports and goes through the reg/importing process. Would you recommend doing this to save the headaches of inspection at state DMV, etc?
Usually the highway or interstate is a no go- only on secondary roads up to 50mph- but I do skip on the highway for a bit when I need to go certain places- there are worse offenses -right?
There probably is a kit for them, but you can import them with the AC already on. I'm hesitant to suggest one with AC, as it may not be as cold is what you would be expecting… But I guess a little is better than none at all.
So, I have seen those but used more often here in Florida… happen to have a not so great importer here that I could get used parts from- they are out there though

All these videos saying you get 40mpg, yet everyone I know who has one is lucky to get 25. And there are like two states that don’t allow these. A 5 speed will do 55 easy.
Watch waybeforethefame, he does real workd tests of Kei vihicles, rarely even hits 25 mpg on any vehicle he has tested. I admit they are opposite with fuel comsumption, most cars get better mpg on the highway, these get better mpg locally and eat gas on longer and faster trips. But i have not seen anyone do a test and show the high milage people claim. @@jaxsawjeff
If he’s importing to make a buck, I get it… And it all depends on how landlocked the state is… And whether it has to be tucked in, or you can just pick it up at the dock… Also conditions very widely in my experience, but capitalism wins😃
Absolutely terrible advice telling people to take them on the highway. You and I both driven these trucks for a while and KNOW no one should drive them on the highway for any reason
The city, where we get our topsoil and gravel is 25 miles away, but when we’ve got our older Ranger 4WD pickup is loaded down with topsoil, we’re only driving at about 50mph on the highway.
He can't tell people to take them on the highway, he has no authority. He just tells them to do what they want, and he actually says to check their local laws first.
Seeing these lil guys just puts a smile on your face.

Put “L” brackets on the side so that when you open the sides of the bed, you’ll have a wider flatbed

25? That’s low at least with mine, I don’t drive highway and usually stay in the 45 mph realm and I’m stroking damn near 45 and above mpg
