Great work, Mr Allison😇 It is appreciable that even though ASMR is not your actual genre, you work on it just for your viewers and the outcome is always beautiful 😇
Great technique Kirby the passion you show alone makes the shoes shine bright, I love the correct way to treat a fine pair of well made leather shoes, they should last a life time.
Kirby, Thanks for sharing your procedures in achieving such a brilliant shine. I have received complements on how shiny my boots are by using your products.
Hey Kirby, most entertaining and informational. Your men's sensibility is gratifying. Could you clarify for me the distinction between the Safir Pommadier cream and the Safir Beaute' Du Cuir cream. Many thanks.
The Saphir Beauty Cuir (SBC, as I call it, or their standard blue label), is a good polish. It is definitely better than all of other polishes we used in this video. It contains high-quality waxes and uses natural solvents. However, the difference between the SBC and the MDO is in quality, concentration, and variety of waxes, ingredients. Saphir Medaille d'Or contains a different and higher concentration of hard and soft waxes, which is why you get an easier, higher shine than in the Beauty Cuir. It also contains a higher concentration and quality of pigments, which produces better recoloring and restoration of the finish. And there is a "huge difference" in the waxes you are using in the Saphir Pommadier MDO vs. SBC. The Saphir SBC uses almond oil vs the shea butter in the Medaille d’Or. Combined with the unique combination of the other waxes, the Saphir Medaille d'Or is a much better nourishing polish and produces a higher-quality, longer-lasting shine. Lower quantity of beeswax in the Medaille d’Or vs. vegetable waxes, which produce better nourishing. MDO contains carnuba wax (I'm spelling this incorrectly), which is a harder wax that produces a higher shine.
Yes I do. A few minutes after each layer. We simply remove this in our edits. Usually one shoe is drying while I am polishing the other. Then I go back to the first shoe etc.
Awesome! A shoe question: does the toe cap still have functional value? I know it was originally added on as an extra layer of protection, but are they still designed to be replaced? Thanks!!
Nice work Mr Allison. My name is Anthony. With Anthony's Shoe Shine and Repair. In Houston TX. I am hoping you can tell me the names of all the Polish and shoe cream you use to get a shine like that. I have been in business for about 5yrs.
I'm a subscriber to your channel as I find it all interesting and useful. The one question I have for you is "Do you wish you were born and bred an English gentleman"? That is what you portray on all your vlogs. 🤔
Is it safe to use Renovateur on painted patina shoes? I was told that there's a solvent in it that can take off some of the patina. And thank you for these wonderful ASMR videos!
Interestingly enough... the Saphir Renovateur is actually water-based, which means that there is no solvent. It’s the most gentle of the Saphir polishes. So, if Saphir Renovateur would strip a patina, a proper neutral cream polish would destroy it. This is more of an issue w the patina than the polish. Secondly, all polish will cause a little of the old polish to come off. This is normal and nothing something to be alarmed by.
Hello Kirby, I've watched many of your videos and truly enjoy them. As a woman I would love to find "equivalent" of your channel for me. Do you know of any? Thank you
Not an equivalent per se, but I would recommend Nicole Rudolph’s channel. She’s a fashion historian, among other things. th-cam.com/users/NicoleRudolph
@@kirbyallison Still, we only see the left shoe for the entire video. I believe you if you say that through the multiple cuts, you took the other shoe to do the same treatment on it. But we're still talking of ~30 minutes per shoe. Note i'm not saying that it's bad, on the contrary, such dedication is impressive.
I remember shining my boots like this in the service, now boots are dusted off and not shined whatsoever. The sad reality is the military is beginning to have lazy soldiers and that's the last thing you want! Lol
Hello Kirby. Long time fan and recent customer. Seeking advice. Unfortunately while polishing my shoes I spilled some Saphir Sole Guard on my beloved TLB shoe. Color is dark brown. I immediately washed it off with water. Next day I used Saphir Reno Mat. The stain is apparent. What do you suggest? Thanks Daniel
You cannot be serious !!! It’s ridiculous..... each application you put on the shoe you brushed out before letting it soak into the leather.... what’s the point of putting it on ..... plus it’s taken you nearly ALL day to polish ONE shoe...... you are having a laugh .....
The video is edited... As in time has been cut out to save people watching each and every second. The polish is allowed to soak in while I do the other shoe. That is simply cut out.

It’s amazing to seem them come back to life!
No words needed. Proper job.

Wonderful! That's great that news that they are helping you get such good results.
Nice Kirby. I love your videos and now your doing ASMR. It's awesome how your mixing it up a bit. Good Stuff 😉👍.
Thank you! Trying to mix things up.
This was therapeutic! 🙂
Nice work
Good looking shoe

Hey Kirby, when applying the products, is there a reason you prefer using a rag over your fingers?
To not get my hands excessively dirty. But you can certainly apply them by hand.
Hi Kirby please make some review about nice coat wallets brand such as Launer, Ettinger, Montblanc.
10:03 that’s how I react to the smell of a tin of wax polish!
Do u wash the shoes/ wipe with wet piece of fabric before applying the conditioner?
Mr. Allison,
So, after each application, do you let the shoes dry for a few minutes before brushing?
Based on my experience, I let shoes dried around 3 to 5mn.
Yes I do. A few minutes after each layer. We simply remove this in our edits. Usually one shoe is drying while I am polishing the other. Then I go back to the first shoe etc.
@@kirbyallison such a simple, yet brilliant strategy / advice.

My understanding is that this is largely decorative. I’ve never heard of a toe cap being replaced.

It should actually be:
- how to shine shoes in a suit.
40 minutes for ONE shoe!!!!
We did both! Only showed one shoe, though.

You honestly made it worse with the reno mat
It’s just a shoe.
is it true that you made long term advertisement contract with Gentlemen Gazette & RMRS but then stopped paying them?
how do these compare to crockett ?
And there I was, thinking that 1 coat would be enough..
You are not alone in this.
Good tips....but while wearing a nice suit 🤔
Wow that is risky
