      Hey, I am a French UI /UX based in Paris. I have few years of experience as designer as freelancer and in agency in Canada. I’ve got a master degree in UX Design & Webmarketing from a good digital school based in Paris.
      Is it possible to do an internship / apprenticeship focused on workshops and facilitation at AJ&Smart, but in remote ? Thanks in advance.

    Holy crap man, you mean I can get paid for this? I naturally do this and have been doing this for 50% of my life. Yet I did not know there was a name given to it or a way to make money with it. My mind is blown. A good friend described me yesterday as a facilitator during an introduction to a new friend. I didn't think much of it, but looked up the word this morning and now searched yt. Now realizing i have always connected people or give people I know very fulfilling relationships with connecting them, they almost always become VERY good connections for them to the point of moving beyond me. It used to frustrate me, but that was ego. Long-winded brain dump comment. I have been wanting a career change for some time. Hmmmm

    As a facilitator, how can you handle questions raised that you are not familiar with because you are not an expert in the field

    • @AJSmart
      @AJSmart  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Mary! Just be honest and transparent about these types of questions.
      "I don't know the answer to this question. Why do you think this question is important, could you give a bit more context?"
      Somebody from the group might also be able to answer.

      Thanks for your response. This question is raised to seek clarification on who is a facilitator, what are expected of him or her in facilitating and to specifically identify the general and particular areas one can facilitate.

    I'm also a fan of your Workshopper Playbook. :D
    Do you have any tips on how to convince novice/stakeholders/ peers to participate in a Workshop?

    • @AJSmart
      @AJSmart  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Narchie! We agree it's often hard to convince the stockholders about the power of workshops. Try running very quick, simple exercises with the team to showcase what workshops could be achieving (perhaps a Sailboat retrospective or Impact / Effort Matrix). When you have a chance, try running structured meetings: set the agenda, explain what this meeting is for, what you're looking to achieve. It's all about taking small steps with some teams 🤗
