This is great. Amazing new DM; very much working in the same style as Perkins (he will be missed), Amy and Anna integrated better than maybe any other 'guest' player since Pat, and so many laughs. a little bit in love with Evelyn!
1:52:00 -ish, I thought Pat would try to claim that the Immovable Rod, as a point in space suspended high above the ground, could be considered a chandelier, and therefore Viari's natural habitat.
I was sad to see Chris go, but damn this guy is a great DM. LOVED his role playing with the high five, I'm really looking forward to future sessions with him.
I didn't think I would enjoy this after the departure of Chris Perkins but it has taken a place in my heart. Good entrance Jeremy Crawford, you have renewed my interest in Acq Inc. and I applaude you. Best of luck in the future, you have a legacy to continue and I will follow you to the end :)
I love that they've played the paladin of actually being unnaturally charismatic. So often the party has disdain for the pally when they have like 20 CHA it doesn't make all that much sense.
I have to say, having binge watched all of Acq Inc and DCA over the last few years, I think Anna Prosser is an incredible role player. She has a very quick wit and has excellent acting and speech improvisation skills. She also does not suffer from the selfish play styles of some other players. She never shouts over other players, bosses them at the table, or cuts them off. And she has a good sense of humour when fate or the DM turn against her. It was a shame the Acq Inc team did not bring her back. One wonders if the humorous interchange with one or other players in role play, while entertaining for the audience, did not rub someone or some people the wrong way. I think a better solution would be to start a long running prank war between the two characters, allowing the other character to get revenge (and laughs) in that fashion.
okay... I don't care what it does to the C Team or the Wafffle Crew... Evelyn and Walnut are now A-Team permanently. The interplay between Viari and Walnut is gold, the story that an Evangelical Paladin and a Atheist Wizard can tell is just gold....
Oh God, please no. There are few things that would make me stop watching Acq Inc and putting Evelyn and Walnut in full time would be it. They really need to stop doing these Waffle/C-Team Acq Inc crossovers. The chemistry the core Acq Inc players have is an amazing thing and while C-Team and Waffles can be entertaining on their own, they bring nothing whatsoever to the able when they mash them in like this. Kate was a train wreck when they brought her in and these two were just as bad.
Jeremy, you stand on the shoulders of a giant. And you did an amazing job. You took that baton and ran with it. This was great fun. This is one of the funniest Acq Inc. episodes I've ever seen, and they are all damned hilarious. I love the elements from all of the crossovers. Evelyn completely changes the dynamic of the group. Man I would love to see Diath get thrown in just to see. That would be just amazing.
I was sad to see Chris go at the end of the last show, but Jeremy did such a good job taking over, I didn't even hesitate to watch this. He's doing fantastically. It's different, but it's great.
I just want to say, what I love most about Walnut's design is that her clothes aren't made of leaves. SERIOUSLY! What's up with druid characters wearing leaf-clothes??? I mean, druids are experts on all things nature, I'm pretty sure they know how to make cloth.
'Every molecule has been converted to some form of erotic commerce' is a great line among great roleplaying from everybody at the table. I'm reminded how Aqcuisitions Inc. Got me into D&D, at the eve of a new campaign I'm starting this weekend :D
Jeremy Crawford is just as good as Chris, if not a little better IMO. He paints such vivid scenes & characters & he rolls with the players' punches perfectly. He's got a certain flair to him & his pacing is spot on. If you're unsure about watching this because it isn't 100% the original crew, give it a shot! Change doesn't have to be bad, it certainly isn't here! It just feels like another amazing Acq Inc show.
@@asdrubaelvect8038 It does feel slightly off at first, but if you put yourself in a neutral mindset it becomes very similar. (the players at Acq Inc. kinda run the show anyways. :P) Chris & Jeremy's styles & voices are super different so I could see how anyone could have trouble adjusting. It's really hard to get out of that comfort zone where you know what to expect. The table will develop a chemistry that works for the majority eventually. The only thing they're missing for now is inside jokes. lol Who knows, maybe Chris will come back for a game as a guest player or even DM for them with Jeremy as a player in the future! I'm not gonna tell anyone what to feel, if someone's personal Acq Inc. golden age is over then it's over - all the cool memories are still there, but don't let yourself shut the door to something before you get a feel for it. You might like it eventually! Give it some time! :)
Jeremy is an average DM who can only entertain with a good table. Chris had the ability to elevate any table, no matter who was playing. I don't hate Jeremy at all, but I'm less motivated to watch the Acq Inc stuff not for sure. It also doesn't help that they keep showhorning in people from the C-Team and Waffles, which adds nothing to the dynamic of any value.
@@drsch Dang man, you must have had some nice DMs at your games! I haven't had a DM like that ever. lol I'm kinda jealous. And for bringing in people from the other games, I half agree. Strix meshes so well with this table, especially her rivalry with Jim. And Rosie Beestinger was pretty fun too. Both of them know how to play their characters for an audience. But the rest of them are pretty meh when they're not with their usual crew. I assume it's mostly for cross advertising while also filling in for a player that can't show.
Sad to see Mr Perkins leave and was very skeptical that this would be any good.. man his NPC’s are amazing, really beautiful narrative. I am going to enjoy this new different future for Acq-Inc..
so whats the story did he step down get fired or something else because his replacement sounds like douchey evil middle management bullshit that always happens
@@thunderborn3231 Nope, he's still at Wizards, where he is pretty much the guy responsible for deciding the direction D&D lore will take. He just had trouble working this many live games into his schedule, so Jeremy Crawford, also from Wizards, took over as Acquisitions Incorporated's DM. Chris announced his departure in November at the end of their session.
@@thunderborn3231 a big part was that Perkins has anxiety about public shows and travel and PAX has grown incredibly huge and the number of shows has also grown. His replacement is also the DM for the game Perkins plays in.
I was hesitant about Jeremy, but from the moment he started DMing in the previous episode (and when the PCs met Edu or however his name's spelled) I was 100% on board. After the most recent game, I have to say I almost like him more! But to be fair, he and Chris have got different styles, and they both do those styles well.
Ravnica was the perfect plane for thwm to have done this in. Most of the other planes are one note and not that deep. (Not all, but most). The fact that Ravnica is built upon 10 color combinations, it has so much diversity in one place, as opposed to say Innistrad, which is essentially just German gothic horror.
The difference I'm seeing is that Perkins was responding to the game at the table and so far, Crawford has them playing HIS game. It's still a decent game, but the difference is noticeable.
Nothing can compete with seeing one of these live. I honestly had no idea how amazing it would be but it was insane. If you ever have the chance to go to pax (which you should is a fucking blast) then you have to watch one of their shows.
Alright, Evelynn might be one of the most hilarious people in this session, if not others, but holy cow I was tearing up at certain points. She has great synergy with a lot of the people at the table, and really brings her A Game with her character. 10/10, if anyone was considering not watching because this is the first game without Perkins, give it a shot, the DM and this session were both top of the charts.
Did anyone notice how they didn't build beautiful props/scenery/building this time (for the story)? The DM did an awesome job letting us (or at least me) forget that and paint the most wonderful pictures of this crazy city just with the power of imagination!! Thanks and keep it up! :)
They never do it for the Unplugged games. That's kind of the point of the Unplugged game. They do all of the props and dioramas for the PAX Prime game.
Not bad for a first show with a new DM, I'm sure it'll take a few more live sessions for the group dynamic to hit its stride. Still Chris will be sorely missed. He had a warm personality and quick wit that always left me thinking it was less about marketing and more about friends gathered to play a game they love.
I was SO SAD when Chris announced he was leaving, but you did an AMAZING job Jeremy. Had me enthralled the entire time. I dare say you do NPC voices better than Chris. Your NPC characters are amazing and unforgettable. Thankyou!
Just like the doctor, except the latest one, you're also so sad to see the previous one go but then you see the new doctor and really appreciate them and their new take on the role. Great job
I went into this episode not knowing Chris retired. It was like having my heart stepped on, and I was really hesitant to see how Jeremy was going to do. After this, I have to say that I am extremely pleased to see how this will go moving forward.
I don't always watch a live D&D video completely from start to finish, but this was a glorious one to do so. Patrick's charity pitch at the end was wholesome af.
I loved Chris Perkins, but I can’t lie I’m so happy with Crawford. His style is what I’ve always tried to emulate and I can’t wait to see more of what he does going forward.
Love the guest star, the addition of Walnut Dangrass, & The charity Pat is promoting. Most of all I love the new DM Tim. He had me hanging on every word. Anyone that can corral those players deserves a medal. Lol. Perkins is still my fav DM, but this new DM is definitely my 1-A.
90 % of the whole session is the new DM babbling, instead of letting the characters create the story themselves. And the comments seem to be moderated, there is no way this many people think that this guy favorably compares to Perkins.
I gave it a go and so glad I did. The style of Jeremy is different from Chris but is still good. At first I was hostile to the idea of Ravnica but it's a new world that I'm now keen to explore. Thanks Pat for the best and line ever and I want it on a T-shirt.
don't get me wrong, jeremy did a great job, this is honestly one of the better episodes of AI all things considered. I just hope it isn't permanent. Take months off, take a year off, but don't leave AI forever chris.
A change of hands is such a sensitive thing in the hearts of the players and the viewers and I could not have been more satisfied with the outcome. Welcome Jeremy Crawford :)
Came for the Acquisitions Inc ... stayed for the drug-paraphenalia-dealing southern-accented gnome. What's next? ... talking elephants? oh... wait .....
This was one of the best show you've done in a few years. The chemistry between everyone was great. But... I feel like nothing actually happened because it took to long to get into the story. hopefully you'll do another one-off before the next PAX to complete this story, because I really don't like to be left hanging
Reading through the comments I can see that some people really love this setup while others are less comfortable with the changes. I LOVE Chris's DMing, I grew up on it, I miss the chemistry he had with this crew badly. Evelyn and Walnut can be the most annoying characters sometimes, however much I love Amy and especially Anna, who's an amazing person and incredibly funny. All that said, this felt like an AcInc game through and through. That is because the main crew have been running this show forever. Jeremy has big shoes to fill and certainly needs some practice at running this type of game. I'm not a huge fan of his theatrical style, but I'm sure he'll find his voice and fit in nicely. We have to give him some slack for even attempting to follow Chris in his role and doing such a great job of it. He'll be great in the end, I'm sure. People criticizing Chris for leaving, just remember, he has a life. He's working and traveling a lot for his job, taking on more and more responsibility, and it can all be very taxing. He still DMs DCA, go check it out. ;) Besides, the latest episodes of AcInc felt a bit stale at times, as if the time had really come to stir things up. Just my 2 cents but IMO AcInc is still great, Jeremy's a good DM and I'm interested to see what direction this story takes - both literally and metaphorically.
Dude I can’t believe how popular the Blue Angels are!!! I was born, raised, and still reside in Pensacola Florida. I grew up with them, and when other people reference them it baffles me because I forget how big they are.
Devin Rising I live outside of Philadelphia by a now defunct Naval air base. Every year the Blue Angels would put on a show that flew right over my house. It was so cool.
I was expecting to really miss Chris but man, Jeremy was great. He took on the role of DM incredibly smoothly and the game felt just as rewarding to watch as every Acq Inc game before it.
I wished you good luck with Acquisitions Incorporated the night before near the Adventurers League area. You did fantastic can't wait until the next show. I thanked you afterwards at the signing booth. I hope to say "thank you" to Chris one day for his fantastic 10 years.

Hunter Allen Same! I’m kinda bummed that I missed my chance to see Perkins run, but Crawford put on an awesome show!
Hunter Allen jelly!
@@jimhirl2194 i would of got my $ back
I hope all is well with Chris Perkins! Amazing to watch and grateful for all he’s done.
He still dms on dca once a week. You can always go check how he's doing.
Patrick Rothfuss being thrown into awkward love situations is probably the funniest thing to witness.
Chris Perkins DID give Inspiration. He specifically gave Viari Inspiration in the episode in The Underdark.
He gave quite a few but I think since games are so long in between they just forget. Like the game before this, there were a lot of things they didn't remember when starting back up, like it was Jim who cast fireball for one.
I saw Holly, Jared and Nate in the crowd :)
Yeah, you can see the gang cheering for Anna @ 9:36 So sweet!
OH SHIZZLE. THAT IS AWESOME! AND SWEET! AWEET!
You can see Holly mouthing "we love you Anna" XD
Also, Anna's shirt says: Crying is a free action :)
Nice catch...I would've missed it..ty
Jeremy Crawford is amazing! Also, finally after how many weeks of waiting!
This is great. Amazing new DM; very much working in the same style as Perkins (he will be missed), Amy and Anna integrated better than maybe any other 'guest' player since Pat, and so many laughs. a little bit in love with Evelyn!
Well done, Jeremy. Big shoes to fill; different but well done.
1:52:00 -ish, I thought Pat would try to claim that the Immovable Rod, as a point in space suspended high above the ground, could be considered a chandelier, and therefore Viari's natural habitat.
Perkins is not there so he didnt
I was sad to see Chris go, but damn this guy is a great DM. LOVED his role playing with the high five, I'm really looking forward to future sessions with him.
I think, I've never seen a game where Jerry Holkins laughed that much.
It's entirely due to Anna. She's fucking hilarious.
Kur Norock A whole bird!
It's like even MORE HYPERACTIVE Perkins leading the joint! XD
Love it!
Also - "Patrick, how do you want it to look?" I DIED XDDD
"Any time Viari isn't on screen, people should be asking 'Where's Viari?'"
@npf1234 Yeah I've watched them play CoS. She seemed so cliche at the start but she's definitely made it her own
Please have Amy do many, many more Acq Inc games! She is an absolutely perfect fit for the group.
I hope Chris didn't die on the way back to his home planet.
Just kidding, he can never die, not after all the pacts he's made.
HAHAH THE ANIMATION PEGS 4:20
Chris Perkins, in all of my remembering, did in fact give a single point of inspiration. To Aeofel. During the D&D Next playtest.
Meanwhile Walnut is used to having a never-ending font of inspiration
Feels odd that A team is still only level 9 after 11 years.
Holy crap, Pat got a haircut!
Looks much better.
I think it makes his head look too rectangular. The longer hair looked nice with the beard.
2:08:30
and
1:59:00
That's all i should have to say.
One of the funniest episodes so far!
'Every molecule has been converted to some form of erotic commerce' is a great line among great roleplaying from everybody at the table. I'm reminded how Aqcuisitions Inc. Got me into D&D, at the eve of a new campaign I'm starting this weekend :D
That was excellent! (For all those in need for more perkings, there is always dice, camera, action)
2:08:32. Jim hits the table with 100 points of blunt damage.
No... Hes ok... CP is bedrock. It just feels weird without him.
The only thing they're missing for now is inside jokes. lol
Who knows, maybe Chris will come back for a game as a guest player or even DM for them with Jeremy as a player in the future!
He is pretentious, longwinded and over-imposing. All the things CP wasnt. Stop shilling for the new dude please
One of the best Acq. Inc. sessions ever.
"I have heard that they love GATHERING to see all sorts of MAGIC"
Sad to see Mr Perkins leave and was very skeptical that this would be any good.. man his NPC’s are amazing, really beautiful narrative. I am going to enjoy this new different future for Acq-Inc..
Chris you will be missed
so whats the story did he step down get fired or something else because his replacement sounds like douchey evil middle management bullshit that always happens
@@thunderborn3231 he still does dca also, so you can still catch him dming once a week
@@thunderborn3231 a big part was that Perkins has anxiety about public shows and travel and PAX has grown incredibly huge and the number of shows has also grown. His replacement is also the DM for the game Perkins plays in.
@@Jayce_Alexander late to return to this just got off work x.x, awesome he deserves such a position you can tell hes a hard worker from his attitude
The D&D / MtG crossover is everything I didn't know I needed. I've been living separately in both worlds. Now my worlds are one. It just feels right.
Jerry is phenomenal this episode
"Way to make a beautiful thing awful"
"That's the Jim Darkmagic magic."
Awesome!
Z Kahn “YOU’RE NOT MY REAL DAD!”
That Pat Rothfuss Bulls**t :D 1:51:30
Crawford was sensible to allow that. It's not Acq Inc if Viari can't bullsh*t Death.
not even two hours and Crawford already caved. I tell you edition 6 it will be embedded in the core rulebook
LOVE the voice of Vi (Vie? / Vye?)
Anyway, great character.
"Now, honey..."
As good as anything I've ever seen Mercer do.
Thanks for everything you did for d&d chris!
Sad to see Perkins one of my top favorite DMs but let's see how he does. For Chris to bless it I have high high high hopes.
Sad to see that Chris is done with this :( , thank you Chris Perkins for all the awesome adventures!!
Very good show and i like the new DM,Jim has to memorize the spells now haha.
Acquisition Inc meets Babar the Elephant...
@@drsch uh that's stupid of me... Thanks for the Info. Nontheless I like the new DM :)
This was great! Crawford's scenes and NPCs are aspirational, for sure. Enjoyed every second!
Not bad for a first show with a new DM, I'm sure it'll take a few more live sessions for the group dynamic to hit its stride. Still Chris will be sorely missed. He had a warm personality and quick wit that always left me thinking it was less about marketing and more about friends gathered to play a game they love.
I will forever miss Chris, He and AI were my first experience with D&D back in 2012 but man did Jeremy do an amazing job.
Great job
47 minutes in and I'm really loving Anna Prosser and her PC.
*EDIT* 2hrs and 8 minutes in and she's my favorite person at the table.
I went into this episode not knowing Chris retired. It was like having my heart stepped on, and I was really hesitant to see how Jeremy was going to do. After this, I have to say that I am extremely pleased to see how this will go moving forward.
LOVE YOU Jeremy Great Opening Game! It Was an Honor to see this Historic Game Live! it was Electrifying, THE Highlight of my PAX 2018 UNPLUGGED Event
Amy is getting so much better as time goes on. Really considered role playing, she fits right in with both C and A teams.
I don't always watch a live D&D video completely from start to finish, but this was a glorious one to do so. Patrick's charity pitch at the end was wholesome af.
Is that Strix in the audience as they announce the last player?
I loved Chris Perkins, but I can’t lie I’m so happy with Crawford. His style is what I’ve always tried to emulate and I can’t wait to see more of what he does going forward.
The key thing with both these guys is they have steel trap memories. And they never um or err.
Dude that "new DM Tim" is THE Jeremy Crawford.....the Sage for gods sakes.......hes one of the main bosses at Wizards of the Coast
That would be my bad lol
Props to that one guy who dabbed when they gave the big clap for Perkins.
chifii no adult should ever dab....nor should props be given. Your props have been refunded, sir.
oh I think that was hunter, he's on one of the other dnd shows on the main yt channel
If this video had gone live sooner you would have seen more people donating to the Worldbuilders fundraiser. Something to keep in mind for the future.
Chris Perkins approves.
Now I know why.
Great stuff 👍
PROOF that you don't have to have combat in order to have a good, entertaining session of D&D!
'Too much grenola and petchouli for me'

Iconique
don't get me wrong, jeremy did a great job, this is honestly one of the better episodes of AI all things considered.
OK, I've only reached 1:34:04 so far, and I'm sadistically hoping the Izzet Flamethrower blows up like a damn firework XD
I had to leave the series alone for a awhile and now that i'm back I can stop comparing in my head. This is some freaking quality DMing
"I pick up the orb and I start shaking it." And then the mechanical owl flew in bearing Jim's acceptance letter to the Izzet guild.
In the opening cartoon, when Perkins sails away, did y'all notice every character he's DM'd EXCEPT Binwin was in that scene at 4:19?
I didn't see Aeofel in there...
@@TitoRigatoni second tallest character. On the right in between K'thriss and Donnar, just above Jeff.
Scott would probably have to give his permission to Penny Arcade to use his character.
Jeremy is an excellent DM! Look forward to the next eleven years!
This was a very fun session to watch
I wished you good luck with Acquisitions Incorporated the night before near the Adventurers League area. You did fantastic can't wait until the next show. I thanked you afterwards at the signing booth. I hope to say "thank you" to Chris one day for his fantastic 10 years.
7:36 and everyone who hasn't ever played 3.5, only 5e stood up lolz. I'll miss you Chris, your name showed up in many 3.5 books showing that you had talent before Magic the Gathering.
