    Finally a real world review. Great video. I really appreciate the info, especially about the headlight adjustment and the suspension setup. I never knew the high beam could have been adjusted. You should really make a video on how to go about doing it. I recently got my ZX10R. The suspension settings are from the previous owner. It feels good for now, but i may give your settings a try after i service my forks. Keep up the great work!

    You sir are a lifesaver, the suspension setup helped me alot. One thing I hate about this bike is the front sprocket nut. What a heacache that thing is to work with, its torqu settings come straight from hell!

    • @UpAllNight91

      LoL, yeah that nut is on tight. A good impact surely helps with that thing. On the suspension settings, I changed things a little since this video was made. I now run 2.5 turns rebound and 2.5 turns compression, but everything else is the same.

    Great review, I've had 3 gen 1 and 2 gen 3, so this would be the logica progression.. your suspension info is great. I'm just worried about lack of low down power and am hoping a gearing change may help with that.. maybe 1 or 2 up on the rear? What do you think?

    • @Luckky-13
      @Luckky-13 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      To add down low and midrange power on this particular bike... go with either 2 or 3 tooth up rear sprocket or 1 tooth down front sprocket.

    • @UpAllNight91
      @UpAllNight91  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      surely minus one up front. But you can also add a tooth or two out back also. All depends on how high you can handle your cruizing RPMs on the interstate. Maybe start with cheaper used sprockets to try out different setups till you find your sweet spot?

    What's your thoughts on your 06 vs 08 vs 12? Curious since I had an 06, 08, and am about to scoop a 12, lol. Still have this 12 too?

    • @UpAllNight91
      @UpAllNight91  ปีที่แล้ว

      They are all great bikes. The 06 is a good looking bike, very fast for its time. A snappy motor. The suspension was softer in stock form. Great bike for the road with decent gear spacing for the road too. The 08 is sleeker than the 06, and once the 15 pound muffler is replaced for a aftermarket one it is lighter, sharper handling. And also a very snappy motor after a few bolt ons are added.. A little less bottom end power but more top end power than the 06. It has a shorter first gear which makes it easier to take off fast from red lights. Its kinda overall right in the middle of the 06 and 12. The 12 will be the fastest, especially once its unleashed with a ECU flash and a exhaust. But it does have a close ratio gear box that has a tall first gear so its good to change out the front sprocket down a tooth to help it pull easier from red lights. But once on the bubble the other too really can't keep up. Very strong and free revving top end pull but a little softer on the bottom and not as snappy, till its in the 9k to 14k range. Also the lightest of the bunch. Maybe not the best looking but surely my favorite to own out of the 3

  • @jontaylove25
    @jontaylove25 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I came from a 636 to this so when having fun I still noticed I'm up shifting to often maybe at 10rpm thinking it's time to shift should I be running the gears out a lil more to experience more power I have a flash

    • @UpAllNight91
      @UpAllNight91  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you surely want to take her up to 14000 RPMs if you want the most. Its hard to do in 1st gear without good throttle control because it will stand up, but by second gear and up you should be running her to 14000. The rev limiter is your friend, dont be scared to hit it, it wont hurt anything. Hold her open in second gear till you feel the rev limiter kick in and then you will know what shes all about and where the window of power is.

    @UpAllNight91 in the service manual I found such a sentence " When turning the high speed compression damping
    force adjuster (outside), turn the low speed compres-
    sion damping force adjuster (inside) too. But, the low
    speed compression damping force (setting position)
    dose not change."
    and I do not know how to understand it? it means that we should rotate high speed and low speed compression at the same time? or in the right order? or that both should be set to the same values? I will add that first I set high speed (12mm) compression and then low speed

    • @UpAllNight91
      @UpAllNight91  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello. Yes it is normal for the flathead in the middle to spin with the outer 12mm hex while adjusting the high speed. It won't change the low speeds setting while turning the high speed. But for peace of mind you can first adjust the high speed 12mm and then afterwards adjust the low speeds flathead

    The reason why some bikes only have one running headlight is because when you’re close behind a car, when they look in their mirror the two motorcycle headlights being so close together makes it look like a cars headlights do when they’re far away, so there’s a higher chance they’ll merge into you thinking that you’re a car far behind them.

  • @crhoades40
    @crhoades40 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I always thought the reason bikes only had one low beam light was so other drivers can tell it's a bike. Basically because 2 close together lights on a bike that is 100ft away looks the same as 2 far apart lights on a car that is a lot further causing drivers to think you are a car and misjudge your distance then turn out in front of you

    • @UpAllNight91
      @UpAllNight91  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thats a good point too. I do remember my R1's from the mid 2000s had two low beams and then most other sport bikes only using one low beam. Hmm. Guess it comes down to if you need more light or not. For me I can hardly see the road on the ZX with low beam only, but I do know your right someone could mistaken it for a car way out.
