"And that is why we label things, people!" 😅 Lost count how many times I've locked myself in my airlock after setting the automation on the wrong vents, and that's just going through the starting phase (up to my first Constantan) over and over, practicing for multiplay with my kids, but never seem to remember that labeller 🤣
Hey LU, I caught the vid of your recent (2024) Brutal Stationeers Mars stream and it sent me back to this series. Your Europa playthrough is some of the best Stationeers content on the site. I'm glad you're still posting engineering-type games 🔧😺
I've had this video in the back of my mind when i first saw it release. I only got time to watch it now and i did not regret it at all! thank you for making this game more accessible with your simple and easy to follow tutorial style video!
I realize this video is a year old, but for the sake of players watching now, I use a small temporary space or an airlock to drink/eat until the greenhouse is safe. Cleaning the air and getting it above freezing is much faster and easier in a smaller area. Well done here overall. I subbed and will be checking out more of your content.
32:01 to 32:02 I know this is from 5 months ago, but you were literally right next to the lander... lol. I saw about 2 frames of it before you turned away again.
I think your note about the flares not off-gassing is outdated - in my most recent playthrough they _absolutely_ added pollutant to the atmosphere when I used them to try to warm up my greenhouse.
It is actually possible that there used to be or perhaps still there is life on Europa and Mars. So it could be origin of coal there. But I have no good answer to question: how the hell there is ice on Venus XD
My first game in this, after the turorial, was several years ago now. And I.. unwisely Started on vulcan first. That gave me a big fail quickly (first the O2 exploded but I was not prepared enough) so my second game (an hour or 2 in) was on europa. That was a difficult start, but I did manage it. Ofc there was no dificulty setting then, and your food and water levels on stationeer drop way faster then back then in a normal game. So it is more difficult now. But europa is rather pretty with good ol Jups in the background. And a base looks rather nice once it is all cladded up and walled outside. Venus.. was my third playthrough, that took a couple of tries to get running cuz DAMN its hard. But once you get your base going it gets easy quick due to all the free energy around. Word to the wise. You could have put down both APC's and put your bat charger behind the second one. The solid generator gives way more power then the single APC needs/can handle at any one point. So you could have been charging more batteries. For more "space" to build you can dig down and create a basement level. Just need to be careful you do not drill out of the side of your hill. Use frames down for reference of depth. Advantage is that you can pump in way more gas without letting in more air, thus giving you a toasty inside without the disadvantages of high pressure differential. And plants love Co2 so they would do well enough. Although you may need to filter out the pollutants.
I don't know if you noticed, but you were looking for your lander, and just after this little accident of clipping through terrain, you emerged from a hole and for a fraction of a second, you were looking at your lander, but then you instantly changed direction xDD. At 32:02 is when you had the lander in front of you xD
I've been following this game for a few years and was in two minds about getting it, but your video pretty much sold it for me. The unforgiving, complexity and survival nature of this game are very attractive to for me, I just hope this game gets active development given I'm about to drop $ without a sale 😅
@@LargelyUnemployed I would be interested for sure, I’ll be starting tonight and have a few videos plus your Europa series that I’m watching. But a more recent starters guide would be very useful even after I’ve started.
Thanks for taking it slow, stumbled across stationers over the holidays, its cool but unfortunately the tutorials have broken with a recent update amd there aren't many new player friendly guides for the new systems. I'd love to see a teaching focused series from you if this game grabs your attention again.
I've started a new series recently if you'd like to take a look at the latest version of the game! Quite a bit has changed since the Europa series started. Stationeers: Mimas: th-cam.com/play/PLkp4FRvo-lVLfFY8iKPSFVCFmE9UfQBIB.html
@@LargelyUnemployed Also I wanted to say, it's great that you are making videos on this game! Finally someone who understands what's going on and has a good mic setup.
@@LargelyUnemployedReally? But it must be really high level. In greenhouse I have above 200 mols at peak, something like 80 percent, if I remember correctly. Plus a little bit of nitrogen for soy. And it's totally harmless.
@@LargelyUnemployed Stationeers survival on Mars. Just checked it, it's a little bit less percentage. 173 mols is 63% at the moment. I think it's about 70% with above 200 mols.
@@LargelyUnemployed Actually, initially it was no nitrogen. Only CO2 and a little bit of oxygen. Just enough for this atmo to be breathable (refilled oxygen from tank from time to time). And I kept higher pressure back then because I used to live in this tiny room so I kept adjusting parameters. Now I leave more margin to not exceed 100kPa (better for plants growth). It actually might have been about 90% CO2 in this atmosphere back then.

Yes i want to see more from others playing stationeers. Currently following "Cows are evil" attempting to terraform Mars..
When the airlock came together at the end it clicked, very cool mechanics
It's like space engineers with more engineering!
@@LargelyUnemployedi never thought a game that had engineers in it was less complex than a game of the same survival goal
You should progress till you have a rocket capable of transporting you to another planet to continue the play through with new challenges!
This is an excellent idea!

I'll get the Logitech controller

Good to know, thanks! Last time I played was ~1 year ago and they've made a lot of changes!

I've always assumed that the coal was misnamed Carbonaceous asteroids.

It's definitely worth it! I'm thinking of doing a super-simple tutorial series on it. Would that be something you'd want to watch?

They change the game so much and so often that such a series would be outdated within a few months. I'll probably return when the game is more settled
@@LargelyUnemployed thanks for the reply, I would have gone through a dozen clones in my recent playthrough without this series.
22:02 you dont really need to throw your waste canister, alt+click the canister in your suit and select open.
I know, but it's easier to see on video what's happening this way, especially for new players!
You are right. But I did learn that the canister has a physical valve to click on, too!
Bros using the E flares that’s why you can’t contaminate the air. Their “safe”
You earn a sub today, love this game. Vary Challenging in your first few play thoughs. Learn some things i didn't know today as well.
Glad I found this video have enjoyed it and have not stepped back into stationeer for reasons but it is interesting to see a good beginning

I can hear the stress in your voice, because this game is brutal and unforgiving in every aspect.
Thank you god I whatch after 8month stationeers videos
Thank you and
I like this
I just stumbled across this video. This game looks amazing and your channel is great. You got a new subscriber.
Thanks for joining the crew! Hope you enjoy the rest of them 🎉
nice, I have been looking for a stationeer playthough for a while
i suggest you check out Cows are evil as well

very good
a lot of space station vibe by construction and details, just without other people.
Hope the mechanics of gases and liquids are at a comparable level.
Love your videos ive been going though quite a few since i found you
Amazing commentary!
Glad you think so! These are a lot of fun to make
Using small battery in suit is already "overkill" for Europa, but you still have ligths on... Never do it again.
Loved the episode
Thanks! I'm hoping to make this a daily series. I've just had a crazy weekend.
It's dissapointing that drilling random rocks does not give water ice on Europa. It's all ice there, it should be usable.
Man I can hardly follow your play through, my 2 initial batteries are draining lightning fast ! Am I so slow or did this change in later versions ?
I haven't played since the atmospherics overhaul earlier this year, but they changed a LOT, so it's possible this was part of that
Can you make more?
There's another episode out already! New episodes ever 1 or 2 days :)
Why do you filter CO2? Plants like it and it's harmless for human, at least in this game.
No, it'll kill you above a certain level
